Helen Melinda Lewis Jiles, 87, of Sardis entered into rest at her residence Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006.
Funeral services will be held noon today (Wednesday, Sept. 6) in the Chapel of Winkenhofer-Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw with the Rev. Bill Abbott officiating.
Interment will follow at Kennesaw City Cemetery.
The family received friends at the funeral home 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Born in Cherokee County on March 8, 1919 to the late Thomas A. and Lenora Hunt Lewis, Mrs. Jiles had lived in this area for four years since moving from Kennesaw. She had been a member of Kennesaw United Methodist Church since 1929.
Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and playing the piano.
She is survived by her sons, William N. "Butch" Jiles Jr. (DeLinda) of Marietta and John David Jiles of Sardis; her grandchildren, Jennifer Beronic, Paige Jiles and Charles and Judith Castardi; and a niece, Lenora Lewis of Walleska.

Mrs. Alma Waddell Griffin of Midville entered into rest Monday, Sept. 4, 2006 at University Hospital in Augusta.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. James Thomas officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Griffin was a retired teacher in the Burke County School System.

Kathleen R. Perry, 94, of Girard entered into rest at Brentwood Terrace Health Care in Waynesboro Monday, Sept. 4, 2006.
Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. today (Wednesday, Sept. 6) at Corinth Christian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jesse France officiating.
Pallbearers will be Dixon McGregor, Charles McGregor, Bob Ellison, the Rev. Tom Oliver, Jack Perry, Bill Perry and Floyd Chandler, Jr.
The family received friends at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Mrs. Perry was born in Burke County on Dec. 10, 1911 to the late A.R. and Claudine Royal. She had lived in this area all of her life.
She was a retired seamstress from Sardis Manufacturing and a very active member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd O. Perry; and her brother, C.W. Royal.
She is survived by two sons, James Perry (Marie) and Kenneth Perry (Betty), both of Girard; a sister, Lucille Minor of Waynesboro; a niece, Hilda Royal of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Derrell Perry (Leah), Melanie Beard (Isaac), Bobby Perry and Michelle Mauldin (Marc); and four greatgrandchildren, Geofrey Redd, Amanda Redd, Matthew Perry and Macie Mauldin.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Botsford Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating.
Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Born in Price, Utah, on Nov. 24, 1992 to Shawna Stamey-Hill and Joseph Stamey Jr., Sarah had lived in this area since 1995.
She was a member of Botsford Baptist Church, an eighth-grader at Burke County Middle School, a member of the Beta Club and a percussionist in the Middle School Band.
Sarah's hobbies included shopping and music.
She is survived by her mother, Shawna Stamey-Hill (Mike) of Waynesboro; her father, Joseph Stamey Jr. (Valerie) of Augusta; four sisters, Carrie and Theresa Stamey of Waynesboro, Cheyenne Hendrix of Augusta and Laurie Hendrix of Matthews; a brother, Jeremiah Hendrix of Augusta; maternal grandparents, William and Mary Murphy of Waynesboro and Milton and Judy Hepner of Farmington, N.M.; maternal great- grandmother, Ruby Hepner of Farmington, N.M.; paternal grandparents, Doug and Joyce Durrant of Spokane, Wash.; paternal great-grandmother, Minerva Kirk of Paintsville, Ky.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.
