Bill McCamon will officiate and interment is in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers are deacons of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. White died Monday, Jan. 3 at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge. Born Nov. 9, 1920 in Bay County, Fla., he was the son of George Washington White and Mary Andrews White. He married Rosa Lee Gainous on Jan. 17, 1942. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was service manager for Willis Motor Sales and White Motor Sales. He was a member of American Legion Post 62 and the VFW No. 4904. He was a deacon of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee Gainous of Bainbridge; a son, Gerald White (Rita) of Bainbridge; two daughters, Christine McRae (Chris) of Pearson, Mary Alice Godwin (Johnny) of Thomasville; a daughter-in-law, Gail White of Bainbridge; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Clo Reita King Stewart
Memorial services for Clo Reita King Stewart, 79, are at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at Carson McLane Funeral Home Chapel in Valdosta. Private interment is in Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman. She died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Stewart was the only child of the late Rubye Maloney and Corbett Mitchell King of Brooks County, Ga. She was the great-great-granddaughter of the late Willis King, early settler of Brooks County. Mrs. Stewart was born in Brooks County, a graduate of Dixie High School and attended Florida State College for Women in Tallahassee, Fla. She married John Furman Stewart of Greenwood, S.C., Nov. 23, 1943. Mrs. Stewart was active in church and civic organizations in Thomasville, where she lived for 51 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she served on the administrative board, circle chairperson of United Methodist Women, Altar Guild and charter member of Sue McTier Sunday School Class. Mrs. Stewart was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, active in Boy Scouts, member of DAR and UDC, past president of Countess Vandal Garden Club, past president of Thomasville Garden Club Inc., served as co-chairperson of the Rose Show and volunteered at Archbold Hospital and Pebble Hill Plantation. She was selected as one of 20 fine outstanding women in 1989 by the Flint River Girl Scout Council, Albany. Mrs. Stewart was selected Woman of the Year by the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce in 1991. She served as civic representative on Thomasville-Thomas County Clean Community Commission and helped form the “Adopt-A-Mile” program and “Keep America Beautiful” for the city of Thomasville. Mr. And Mrs. Stewart moved to Valdosta in 1994. They joined Park Avenue United Methodist Church and Fellowship Sunday School Class. Mrs. Stewart was a member of Holly Garden Club, Literary Guild and an active member of the American Contract Bridge League. The Stewarts have spent summers in Maggie Valley and Dillsboro, N.C. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Diane Stewart of Valdosta; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and David Babbit of Marietta; grandchildren, Amy and Jay Smith, Bryan and Kim Stewart, Andy and Kim Bolton, Ansley Bolton all of Valdosta, Carter Babbit, Molly Babbit, Kate and Mike Williams all of Atlanta; and great-grandchildren, Abbie Stewart, Ellie Smith and Ashton Bolton all of Valdosta. She was married to Chester Franklin Sherrod, who died Aug. 13, 1997. Mrs. Sherrod was a homemaker, where she was an avid gardner and enjoyed the outdoors. She was a member of Merrillville Baptist Church and was a mother to everyone who knew her. She was a member of New White Spring Missionary Baptist Church, and married to Dan Perry, who preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters Christine P. Lloyd C. Seal, 78, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at Grady General Hospital. Born March 18, 1926, in Berea, Ky., he was a son of the late Hugh M. and Alice Gabbard Seal. He was retired Navy and Navy Reserve and was in World War II. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances Seal; sons, Mark J. Seal of Atlanta, Dr. Joseph K. Born in Thomas County on Sept. 16, 1917 to the late Calvin and Mary Denegaul. She married Elijah R. Daniels, Sr. on May 3, 1939, who preceded her in death on April 21, 1992. Mrs. Daniels was a graduate of Douglas High School and attended Providence Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from Glen Arvin Country Club as a cook. Mrs. Daniels died Dec. 24, 2004 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Survivors include son, Robert (Diane) Daniels of New York, N.Y.; son, Elijah R.
