Funeral services for Mr. Barry Wilson Bush, 44, of Griffin, were held Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Moody Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Corley officiating. Burial followed in Moody Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bush died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002 at his residence.
Moody Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bush was a 1976 graduate of Pike County High School and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his parents, Joyce and Wilson Bush of Zebulon; sisters and brother-in-law, Rhonda Flynn, Melanie and Tim Bishop and Lou Ann Randels, all of Zebulon; nephew and nieces, Brandon Flynn and Holli, Brandi and Abbi Bishop, all of Zebulon; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Lillian Birdsong Lowe
Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Birdsong Lowe, 88, of Delray Road, will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Thomaston Church of God with the Rev. Edward Rigby and the Rev. Billy W. Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Lowe died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 at her residence.

Mrs. Birdsong was born in Upson County on Nov. 18, 1914. She was a native of Thomaston, Ga. and lived at 919 Delray Road. She attended the Thomaston Church of God all of her life. Mrs. Lowe was preceded in death by her husband, the late Thomas E. Lowe and a son, the late Billy Lowe of Thomaston. She was also preceded in death by her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Emory Birdsong; three sisters, the late Bernice Wainwright, the late Sara Casteel; and the late Ethel Pitts, all of Thomaston; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Betty Smith, Margie Carraway, Janelle Howell, Ray Lowe, Brenda Boyt, Ronnie Lowe, Gloria Smith, and Sharon (Susie) Boyt, all of Thomaston; Marion (Bub) Lowe of Covington, Juanita Morgan and Sheila Holtapp, of Griffin and 40 grandchilren; 61 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Jean Hamlett of Thomaston and Louise Sandlin of Bellbuckle, Tenn; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Rudolph Owenby
Funeral services for Mr. Rudolph Owenby, 52, of Mountain Brook Drive, were held Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Coggins Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Coogler officiating. Burial followed in Crystal Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Owenby died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 at The Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Mr. Owenby was born in Clark County, Ga., but lived most of his life in Thomaston. He worked for Economy Supply company as a sales clerk and was a member of Elkins Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Owenby was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Verner and Mrs. Velma Saxon Owenby and three brothers, Nathan Owenby, Eugene Owenby and Randolph Owenby.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Shumate Owenby of Thomaston; daughters, Mrs. Lacy O. Chapman and Ms. Kelly O. Hollar, both of Thomaston; brothers, Mr. Grady Owenby of Thomaston and Mr. Ray Owenby of Biloxi, Miss.; sisters, Mrs. Sybil Bright of Jonesboro, Mrs. Rachael Crews of Huntley, Ill. and Mrs. Katherine Dean of Brooks; and three grandchildren.
William Johnny Penn
Graveside services for Mr. William Johnny Penn, 79, of Spring Creek Road, will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Evans officiating.
Mr. Penn died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 at Providence Nursing Home.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Sue Penn of Thomaston; a son, Andrew (Rhonda) Penn of Thomaston; sisters, Ada Henderson of Kenova, W.Va. and Polly Cox of Augusta; and grandchildren, Allison Michelle Penn and Scott Bradley Penn, both of Thomaston.
Mr. Penn will lie in state at the funeral home from noon until the hour of the funeral .

Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Evelyn Carroll Rudder, 91, of Woodbury, were held Friday, Nov. 22, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Woodbury Baptist Church with the Rev. Drew Corbett officiating. Burial followed in the Woodbury City Cemetery.
Mrs. Rudder died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 at Riverside Nursing Center.

Mrs. Rudder was a member of Woodbury Baptist Church. She served as pianist and organist from 1950-1972. She was co-founder of Woodbury Box Co. and served on the Board of Directors until 1996; She was a graduate of GSCW. Mrs. Rudder was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Rudder and her son, William Edward Rudder, Jr.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Carroll and Frank Fowler and Susan and Ron Hall, all of Woodbury; five grandchildren, Dan Fuller and Matt Fuller, both of Woodbury, Callie Fowler Waller of Athens, Amy Fowler Broyles of Carthage, Tenn. and Kim Fuller Sidey of Dunwoody; and five great-grandchildren, Lena, Will and Bo Broyles, Mary Carroll and Claire Waller.

Thomas Marcus 'Tommy' VanHouten
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Marcus "Tommy" VanHouten, 61, of Garner Street, were held Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the Pasley-Fletcher Chapel with Dr. Rex King and the Rev. Dusty Raines officiating. Burial followed in Upson Memorial Gardens.
Mr. VanHouten died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002 at his residence.

Mr. VanHouten was a lifelong resident of Upson County. He retired as shop foreman with the Department of Transportation after 32 years of service. He served his country in the United States Navy for four years. Mr. VanHouten was an avid fisherman and a member of Morning Star Lodge #27 F&AM. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jacklyn J. VanHouten of Thomaston; a daughter, Mrs. Wendy (George) McWaters of Thomaston; a son, Mr. Marcus VanHouten of Thomaston; brothers, Mr. James J. VanHouten of Meansville and Mr. Gary L VanHouten and Mr. Terry L. Robert Adrian 'Bob' Crawley
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Adrian "Bob" Crawley, 53, of Tom Salter Road, were held Monday, March 24, 2003 at 2 p.m. from Flint River Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Ed McIntyre officiating. Entombment followed in Upson Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Crawley died Friday, March 21, 2003 at Thomaston Health & Rehab.

Mr. Crawley was a native of Upson County. He was retired from Blue Bird Industries in Fort Valley where he worked as a draftsman in the engineering department. mr. Crawley was a member of Flint River Primitive Baptist Church. He was a past state treasurer for the Gold Shield Society and was the assistant Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America Troop #19. Mr. Crawley also served as an advisor for the VICA club. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Patsy Crawley of Thomaston; and a son, Mr. Jason Crawley of Thomaston.

Mrs. Kendall died Monday, March 24, 2003 at Upson Regional Medical Center.
