MR. WATKINS
U.S. Army veteran
NICHOLSON - Donald Pete Watkins Sr., 71, diedFriday, November 3, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Watkins was a son of the late Roy and Pauline Potts Watkins.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War, and was a retired poultry farmer and school bus driver.
Mr. Watkins was a Christian member of the Nicholson Congregational Holiness Church, where he served as a deacon for 25 years, as Sunday School superintendent and as church usher.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Runnette Herbert.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 5, at the Nicholson Congregational Holiness Church with the Revs. Howard Rhodes, Dennis Kesler and Junior Sosebee officiating. Burial was in Howington Cemetery.
Mr. Watkins is survived by his wife, Hilder Palmer Watkins, a long-time correspondent for The Jackson Herald; sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Deborah Watkins, Commerce, and Lamar and Pam Watkins, Nicholson; son, Bryan Watkins, Nicholson; and two granddaughters, Erin and Ashley Watkins, Commerce.

MRS. WILLIAMSON

JEFFERSON - Mrs. Sallie Mae Williamson, 90, diedSaturday, November 4, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mrs. Williamson was bornAugust 6, 1910, in Jefferson, a daughter of the late John Moses and Lizzie Graham Qualls.
She was retired from Jefferson Mills and was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Jefferson.
Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Richard Williamson, a son, David Williamson, and a daughter, Annie E. McGinnis.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 6, at Faith Baptist Church with Dr. Gerald Mitton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Lizzie B. Beatty, Pendergrass; one son, James C. Williamson, Jefferson; one sister, Mattie Thompson, Homer; one brother, Sam Qualls, Homer; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brown was bornin Banks County, a son of Claud A. Brown and Nina Lord Brown.
Services were held Monday, October 30, in Raleigh, N.C. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Ovelia Brown, Raleigh, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, David and Harriett Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Tommy Burns; four brothers, Gilbert B. Brown, W. Harold Brown, John C. Brown and Truitt Brown, all of Commerce; and two grandchildren.

PENDERGRASS - Mrs. Addie Sue Bruce, 59, diedThursday, November 2, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Bruce was bornSeptember 15, 1941, in White County. She was a daughter of the late Abraham Lincoln and Leola Major Satterfield.
Mrs. Bruce was retired from Mitsubishi and was of the Baptist denomination.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 4, at Pond Fork Baptist Church, Pendergrass, with the Rev. Johnny Knight officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Randall Cooper, Greg Evans, Clay Satterfield, Joey Satterfield, Mark Satterfield, Tracy Satterfield and Darrell Watson served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Bruce is survived by her husband, Horace Bruce; four sons, Barry Bruce, Jason Bruce and Todd Bruce, all of Pendergrass, and David Bruce, Nicholson; three daughters, Michelle Hardy and Jada Rooks, both of Jefferson, and Janet Mangum, Maysville; two sisters, Estelle Cooper, Chestnut Mountain, and Jean Steele, Griffin; three brothers, Charles Satterfield, Jefferson, Harold Satterfield, Talmo, and Walter Satterfield, Pendergrass; and 13 grandchildren.

Mr. Brown was bornNovember 1, 1909, a son of the late Claude and Nina Lord Brown.
He was a machinist. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Clisby Lord Brown.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 31, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce. Burial was in the Beaverdam Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Brown is survived by one son, Travis Brown, Commerce; three brothers, Harold Brown, John Brown and Truitt Brown, all of Commerce; and two grandchildren, Bressa Brown and Brad Brown.

Mrs. Maney was bornFebruary 2, 1925, in Habersham County, a daughter of the late Paul and Bessie Winstead Franklin.
She was a homemaker and of the Church of God faith. Mrs. Maney was preceded in death by her husband, Voice Joseph Maney.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 4, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Revs. Ernest Hunter and Wilmer Ivester officiating. Burial was in the Rock Springs Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Jean Key, Clarkesville, Eula Maney, Demorest, and Betty Moore, Cornelia; two sons, Ralph Maney, Dalton, and Johnny Maney, Alto; one brother, Harold Franklin, Mt. Airy; one sister, Doris Frady, Clarkesville; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Leffew was bornFebruary 26, 1921, in Cobb County. She was a daughter of the late James Horace and Lena Sue Brown Cooper.
Mrs. Leffew was a homemaker and was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Leffew.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 3, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Don Voyles officiating. Burial was in Banks Memorial Gardens, Homer.
Survivors include four sons, Donald Leffew and Timothy Leffew, both of Cartersville, Joseph Leffew, Commerce, and Stephen Leffew, Colorado Springs, Colo.; four daughters, June Brown and Valerie Francisco, both of Mableton, Ellen Cantrell, Powder Springs, and Judy Smith, Lula; one sister, Louise Adams, Ellijay; 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

U.S. Army veteran
WINTER PARK, FLA. - Dr. Ernest Pierleoni, 76, diedFriday, November 3, 2000, at Winter Park Hospital following an extended illness.
Dr. Pierleoni was bornFebruary 10, 1924, in Celano, Italy, a son of the late Luigi and Felicia Verna Pierleoni.
He served in the U.S. Army and doctored in internal medicine and cardiology. Mr. Pierleoni was of the Roman Catholic faith and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #7720 in Cornelia.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 9, at the V.F.W. Memorial Park, Cornelia, with the Rev. Mike Freeman officiating.
Dr. Pierleoni is survived by his wife, Bess Pierleoni; two daughters, Paddie Hawkins, Oakwood, and Felicia Cordier, Gainesville, Fla.; four sons, John Franklin Pierleoni, Orlando, Fla., Allen Pierleoni, Sacramento, Calif., David Pierleoni, Ocala, Fla., and Louis Pierleoni, Winter Park, Fla.; one brother, Dario Pierleoni, Rochester, N.Y.; one sister, Gloria DellaPorta, Rochester, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Camille Franklin, Teresa Franklin, Susan McLaren, Gus Hawkins and Gina Pierleoni; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Nichols and Cory Elizabeth Hawkins.
