Mrs. Dyer was bornJanuary 14, 1912 in Gainesville. She was a daughter of the late James and Gertrude Weaver Thomas.
Mrs. Dyer was preceded in death by a son, Charlie G. Dyer.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 1, at Full Gospel Holiness Church with the Revs. Lester Haynes and Larry Dyer officiating. Burial was in the Nicholson Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Collie Dyer; three sons, Dewey Dyer, Blacksburg, S.C., Herschel Dyer, Danielsville, and Hubert Dyer, Lula; two daughters, Lucille Hooper, Nicholson, and Ethelene Meadow, Commerce; three brothers, Billy Thomas, Gainesville, and Bobby Thomas and Charlie Thomas, both of Baldwin; five sisters, Pearlee Armour, Belton, Vadie Armour, Dorothy King and Phoebe Thomas, all of Alto, and Winnie Ward, Seneca, N.C.; 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

COMMERCE - Albert Eubanks Sr., 95, diedFriday, September 3, 1999, at BJC Nursing Home, Commerce.
A native of Banks County, Mr. Eubanks was bornAugust 10, 1904. He was a son of the late William and Fannie Nunn Eubanks.
Mr. Eubanks was retired from Blue Bell Manufacturing and was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Mae Thompson Eubanks.
Graveside services were held Sunday, September 5, in the Beaverdam Baptist Church cemetery with Dr. Ray E. Richardson officiating.
Survivors include two sons, Albert Eubanks Jr., Taylor, S.C., and Billy Eubanks, Commerce; five daughters, Jane Bare, Snellville, Rebecca Bennefield, Hampton, Imogene Seabolt, Commerce, Peggy Standridge, Stockbridge, and Mildred Wilson, Warner Robins; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

BALDWIN - Thomas Ray Sears, 43, of Baldwin, diedMonday, September 6, 1999, at Habersham Medical Center following an extended illness.
A native of Commerce, Mr. Sears was bornJuly 29, 1956. He was a son of Doris Faye Bennett Sears, Baldwin, and the late Charles Sears.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 8, at Nails Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Phil Ferguson and Paul Robertson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include two sons, Dylan Sears, Atlanta, and Heath Sears, Baldwin; three brothers, Allen Sears, Commerce, Dwight Sears, Homer, and William Sears, Atlanta; and three sisters, Linda Murray, Seneca, S.C., Judy Owensby, Maysville, and Barbara Sears, Lavonia.

CORNELIA - Tom Lloyd Kimbrell, 89, diedThursday, September 2, 1999, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Kimbrell was bornMarch 28, 1910 in Habersham County. He was a son of the late Joe Thomas and Cordelle Kimbrell.
Mr. Kimbrell was retired from Cornelia Water Works as a superintendent and was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Mae Pitts Kimbrell, and three sons, Howard Kimbrell, Lloyd Kimbrell and Russell Kimbrell.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 4, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs. Ray Turpin and Sanford Kimbrell officiating. Burial was in the Welcome Home Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Payne, Toccoa, and Kathryn Welch, Lula; five sons, Wilkie Kimbrell and Efford Kimbrell, both of Demorest, Ralph Kimbrell and Edward Kimbrell, both of Cornelia, and J.C. Kimbrell, Mt. Airy; two sisters, Lizzie Page, Cornelia, and Lessie James, Demorest; 30 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

MT. AIRY - Mrs. Margaret Biggs Brasfield, 81, diedMonday, September 6, 1999, at Habersham County Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Brasfield was bornJuly 23, 1918 in Peterman, Ala. She was a daughter of the late Charles Randolph and Katie Callaway Biggs.
Mrs. Brasfield was a retired secretary with the Alabama State Health Department and was a member of Hargrove Memorial United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Brasfield.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, September 8, at the First Presbyterian Church, Cornelia, with the Rev. Blaine Walker officiating. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 10, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, Tuscaloosa, Ala., with the Rev. John Drawhorn and Dr. Sammy M. Stabler officiating. Burial will be in Memory Hill Gardens, Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and George Stabler, Mt. Airy; grandchildren, David and Laura Stabler, Marietta, and Lisa Stabler, Mt. Airy; and great-grandchildren, Ariel Cook and Annwynn Stabler, both of Marietta.

MR. KINNEY

JEFFERSON - Hubert Dorsey Kinney, 84, diedMonday, July 19, 1999.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Kinney was a son of the late Virgil A. and Alma Batchelor Kinney.
He was a graduate of Martin Institute and was retired from Wholesale Auto Parts Place. Mr. Kinney was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jefferson and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a 32 Degree Mason and a Shriner.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 21, in the chapel of Jackson Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Gary Whatley officiating. Burial was in Woodbine Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Spratlin Kinney; two daughters, Marie Stover, Griffin, and Carol Cannon, Alpharetta; one son, Hugh D. Kinney, Gainesville; one sister, Gertrell Guinn, Decatur; one brother, G.H. Kinney, Waynesboro; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

MORROW - Mrs. Edith Ayers Little, 79, diedMonday, July 19, 1999, at Southern Regional Medical Center.
A native of Banks County, Mrs. Little was bornSeptember 9, 1919. She was a daughter of the late Marion "Bud" and Althea Elizabeth Aaron Ayers.
Mrs. Little was a retired auditor with the Georgia Department of Revenue and was a member of Webbs Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 21, at Webbs Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Hill officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, W.D. Little; one son, David Little, Comer; two daughters, Linda E. Seymore, Powder Springs, and Susan Washington, Stockbridge; three sisters, Annette Evans, Fayetteville, Jean Hill, Maysville, and Wilbert Landrum, Hapeville; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

MR. CARLAN

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. - James Franklin Carlan, 56, diedSunday, July 18, 1999, following a sudden illness.
Mr. Carlan was bornin Commerce on February 3, 1943. He was a son of the late Clarence Weldon and Clara Bell Irvin Carlan.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Carlan was a retired officer with the Capitol Police and served three tours of duty with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart on four separate occasions.
Mr. Carlan was an employee of the local Merita Bread Company and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 22, in the chapel of Bevis Funeral Home, Tallahassee, Fla. Burial will be in Tallahassee Memory Gardens, Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Carlan; one son, John J. Carlan, Tallahassee, Fla.; one brother, Herman Melvin Carlan, Clarkesville; and one sister, Martha Ann Robinson, Cornelia.
The family was to have received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bevis Funeral Home.

YOUNG HARRIS - E.L. "Red" Yates Jr., 70, formerly of Jackson County, diedMonday, July 19, 1999, at Chatuge Regional Hospital following an extended illness.
A native of Orlando, Fla., Mr. Yates was bornFebruary 8, 1929. He was a son of the late Edward Leslie Yates Sr. and Hattie Smith Yates.
Mr. Yates was retired from the Georgia Department of Agriculture and was a retired farmer. He was a member of First Christian Church of Mountain City, a former member of Galilee Christian Church, Jefferson, and a member of the Board of Galilee Christian Church.
Mr. Yates was also a Mason, a member of the Unity Lodge of F & AM, and a former member of the Jackson County Planning Commission, the Jackson County Cattleman's Association and the Oconee Soil and Water Conservation.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Lynn Yates, and two brothers, Flake Lee Yates and Jerry Walter Yates.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 21, at Galilee Christian Church with Ministers Tom Plank and John Hasty officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Jason Laffan, Gregory Laffan, Zachary Yates, Allen McBrayer, Howard Elder and Gene Raymer served as pallbearers.
Survivors include his wife, Sadie Hodges Yates; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel M. and Andrea S. Yates, Cumming, and David E. and Stephanie D. Yates, Jefferson; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra A. and Dean B. Laffan, Peachtree City; four sisters, Jeanette Y. Korn, Winter Springs, Fla., Nancy Y. Jones, St. Cloud, Fla., and Roberta A. Yates and N. Ann Yates, both of Orlando, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.
