MRS. HAGGARD
Mt. Olive Baptist Church member
COMMERCE - Mrs. Jessie Faulkner Haggard, 87, diedWednesday, May 17, 2000, at Crystle Springs Nursing Home.
Mrs. Haggard was bornMay 18, 1912, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Candler Allen and Mary Pittman Faulkner.
Mrs. Haggard was retired from Blue Bell and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Haggard.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 19, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Carlton Peters and James J. McLendon officiating. Burial was in the Mount Olive Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Haggard is survived by one daughter, Janice Hubbard, Maysville; one sister, Blatz Mize, Commerce; two grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
Little-Ward Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. BLACKSTOCK
Retired Red Cross volunteer
GAINESVILLE - Mrs. Treva Marie "Honey" Glosson Blackstock, 61, diedSaturday, May 20, 2000, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Blackstock was a native resident of Jackson County and had lived in Hall County for 41 years. She was a daughter of the late Roy Homer Glosson and Lounita Glosson Greene.
A graduate of Jefferson High School, Mrs. Blackstock was a retired Red Cross volunteer at Lanier Park Hospital, Gainesville. She was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 23, in the chapel of Ward's Funeral Home, Gainesville, with the Rev. Vernon Grimes officiating. Burial was in Alta Vista Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Hugh Blackstock; daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Jimmy Fowler, Murrayville; daughter, Sonya Terrell, Gainesville; sons and daughter-in-law, John and Kay Blackstock, Gainesville; daughter and fiancé, Kim Blackstock and David Gabrielle, Gainesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Bobby Silman and Mary and James Stringer, all of Martinez; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Jimmie Glosson, Gainesville; granddaughter and fiancé, Leslie Fowler and Michael Woodruff, Murrayville; granddaughters, Lindsey Fowler and Lacey Fowler, both of Murrayville, Stephanie Blackstock and Stacie Blackstock, both of Clermont; grandsons, Brandon Reeves and Jay Blackstock, both of Clermont; mother-in-law, Olis Blackstock, Buford; eight nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hand in Hand Hospice, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Gainesville, GA 30501.
Ward's Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.

MR. PARR
U.S. Army veteran
LAGRANGE - Charles "Charlie" Parr, 76, diedTuesday, May 23, 2000, at Hospice LaGrange, LaGrange.
Mr. Parr was bornJanuary 23, 1924, in Rockdale County. He was a son of the late W.J. and Ida Carlton Parr.
Mr. Parr was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, and was a retired trooper with the Georgia State Patrol. He was a member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 25, in Shadowlawn Cemetery, LaGrange, with the Rev. Jay Knight officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Parr; two sons, Wayne Parr, Maysville, and Michael Parr, Jefferson; two step-daughters, Linda Evans, LaGrange, and Karen Langley, Lawrenceville; one step-son, Kerry Roach, Hendersonville, Tenn.; three sisters, Mary Smith and Linda Bussy, both of Stone Mountain, and Sara Haygood, Ila; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice LaGrange in memory of Mr. Parr.
The family will be at their home located at 414 Cooley Road.
Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home, LaGrange, is in charge of arrangements.

MRS. STONE
Ebenezer Baptist Church member
COMMERCE - Mrs. Azalee Fulghum Stone, 93, diedFriday, May 19, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mrs. Stone was bornDecember 30, 1906, in Franklin County. She was a daughter of the late Manley and Ola Sewell Fulghum.
Mrs. Stone had lived most of her life in Stephens County, residing in Commerce for the past three years. She was employed with Coats and Clark for a number of years and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, the Dorcas Sunday School class and the Ebenezer 220 Fellowship Club. Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband, T. Bonner Stone, who diedin 1971.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 21, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Revs. Jack Sosby, Larry King and Brad Wilson officiating. Burial was in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Terry Price, Gary Satterfield, Johnny Lawson, Ted Moore, Kenneth Sewell and Charlie Lanier served as pallbearers.
Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Moore, Commerce; one granddaughter, Lisa Moore, Lawrenceville; seven step-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Acree-Davis Funeral Home, Toccoa, was in charge of arrangements.

MR. MOORE
Volunteer fireman
ATHENS - Daniel Timothy "Danny" Moore, 45, diedSunday, May 21, 2000.
Mr. Moore was bornin Clarke County, a son of the late Vernard Daniel and Hazel Whitehead Moore.
He had been employed as a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service for over 20 years and was a member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Moore also served with the South Jackson Volunteer Fire Department.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 24, at Crooked Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Miles officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Moore is survived by one daughter, Crystal Moore, Athens; one son, John Moore, Athens; and one brother, Philip Moore, Athens.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Corporate Square Bldg. #1, Suite 127, Atlanta, GA 30329.
Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. CHANDLER
Jefferson native
VILLA RICA - Mrs. Mary Ann Spratlin Chandler, 65, diedThursday, May 18, 2000.
Mrs. Chandler was bornOctober 12, 1934, in Jefferson. She was a daughter of the late William Henry Spratlin Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Carter Spratlin.
Mrs. Chandler was a retired sales clerk from Rich's Department Store. She was a loyal member of the First United Methodist Church of Villa Rica, where she sang in the sanctuary choir, was a member of the Reba Roberds Sunday School Class and was active in the Senior Ministry. Mrs. Chandler was also a member of the Northwest Georgia Walk to Emmaus Community.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Thomas "Billy" Spratlin.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 21, at the First United Methodist Church in Villa Rica with the Revs. Gary Cole and Thomas Fowler officiating. Musical selections were rendered by Pace Yarbrough and Michelle Cammon. Burial was in Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson. Joshua McElroy, Matthew Day, Jason Chandler, Ethan Chandler, Richard Cheek and Chris Cheek served as pallbearers.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Anna and Henry Brittain, Temple, Elizabeth and Michael Osborn, Douglasville, and Carolyn and Larry Day, Winterville; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Sandra Chandler, Lithia Springs, and Andy and Kris Chandler, Evansville, Ind.; son, Ed Chandler, Villa Rica; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Villa Rica, was in charge of arrangements.

MR. WILSON
Father of four
STATHAM - Welton C. Wilson, 56, diedMonday, May 22, 2000.
A native of Clarke County, Mr. Wilson was a son of Retha C. Self Wilson, Danielsville, and the late C.W. Wilson.
He was connected with Seaboard Farms for over 22 years and with Davis Sign Co. for a number of years. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Dillard and Reta Watson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Ardis Anglin officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Imogene Gooch Anglin Wilson; four sons, Wesley Wilson, Braselton, Michael Anglin, Jefferson, and Dwayne and Timothy Anglin, both of Statham; three sisters, Shirley Ivey, Woodstock, Doris Chambers, Statham, and Connie Wilson, Danielsville; one brother, Ronnie Wilson, Statham; 10 grandchildren, one great-grandson and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family was to have received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Bridges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MR. HOLLIFIELD
Madison Street Baptist member
COMMERCE - Nelson Hugh Hollifield, 94, diedFriday, February 25, 2000, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Hollifield was bornMay 31, 1905, in Lumpkin County. He was a son of the late John Hollifield and Ester Hollifield.
Mr. Hollifield was retired from Harmony Grove Mills, Commerce, and was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Richey Hollifield.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 27, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Curtis Green officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors include two sons, Joe L. Hollifield, Commerce, and Charles Hollifield, Warner Robins; two daughters, Geraldine Carithers and Betty Mize, both of Commerce; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Ivie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. ELROD
Talmo Baptist member
TALMO - Mrs. Norma Jean Adams Elrod, 62, diedThursday, February 24, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Elrod was bornNovember 28, 1937, in Hall County. She was a daughter of the late Decatur and Georgia Mae Ridling Adams.
Mrs. Elrod was retired from Gainesville College, having worked in food service for 28 years, and was a member of Talmo Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 27, at Talmo Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Wade, Pete Martin and R.E. Davis officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Jim Parks, Steve Parks, Rod Beatty, Mitch Mitchell, Mark McMullan and Brant McMullan served as pallbearers.
Survivors include her husband, Hoke Elrod; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Kathy Elrod, Talmo; daughters and sons-in-law, Gina and Trapper Brissey and Kay and Larry Joe Wood, all of Talmo; one brother, Richard Adams, Lanett, Ala.; and six grandchildren.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.
