Mrs. Fannie Mag McElreath Strickland Gentry, 94, of Comer, diedThursday, May 11, 2000.
Mrs. Gentry was bornin Gainesville, a daughter of the late Jim and Ada Greenway McElreath.
She was a resident of Madison County for 75 years. Mrs. Gentry was a retired seamstress with Stitchcraft and was a member of Meadow Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Candler Strickland, her second husband, Henry Gentry, and a son, James Richard Strickland.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 12, at Meadow Baptist Church with the Revs. Gene Todd and Joe Dooley officiating. Burial was in the Friendship Baptist Church cemetery. Billy Andrews, Terry Scarborough, Danny Lord, Ellis Rhoden, Joe White and Tal Sorrow served as pallbearers.
Survivors include two sons, Hoke Randolph Strickland, Comer, and Emory Randolph Strickland, Hull; one sister, Emma Strickland, Colbert; two brothers, John McElreath and Charlie McElreath, both of Danielsville; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Thomas J. Morgan, 52, of Commerce, diedTuesday, May 9, 2000.
Mr. Morgan was bornNovember 16, 1947. He was a son of Mary Nell Morgan, Lavonia, and the late Bud Morgan.
Mr. Morgan was a farmer and raised cattle.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Janet Evans Morgan; two sons, Jeff Morgan, Miami, Fla., and Tommy Morgan, Commerce; four daughters, Angela McKee, Tallahassee, Fla., Amanda and Melinda Morgan, both of Commerce, and Lisa Morgan, Colbert; one brother, Larry Morgan, Lakeland, Fla.; four sisters, Clara Lou Carol, Alabama, Mary Ann Ogletree, Commerce, and Debra Shook, Lavonia; and 12 grandchildren.

Lorine K. Bray
Mrs. Lorine K. Bray, 93, of Crawford, diedSaturday, May 13, 2000.
A native of Banks County, Mrs. Bray was a daughter of the late Sam and Nezzie Martin Kitchens.
She was a retiree of Jefferson Mills and was a member of Crawford Pentecostal Church for 61 years. Mrs. Bray was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Berlin Bray, and five sons, Dorsey Bray, Seneca Bray, James Bray, Norman Bray and Vernon Bray.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 16, at Crawford Pentecostal Church with the Rev. B.G. Miller officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Mrs. Bray's grandsons served as pallbearers.
Survivors include one daughter, Catherine Stowe, Monroe; four sons, Lewis Miller and Billy Bray, both of Athens, Ferrell Bray, Flowery Branch, and Larry Bray, Comer; 46 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. House was bornAugust 12, 1925, in Madison County. He was a son of Maude Coile House, Danielsville, and the late Curtis James House.
Mr. House was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company, Hartwell, and was a member of Bluestone Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Bluestone Baptist Church with the Revs. Ray Jenkins and David McDonald officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. House's nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Margaret Adams House; one daughter, Karen Melissa Fox, Easley, S.C.; two brothers, Ralph House and Dorris House, both of Danielsville; two sisters, Geneva House and Montine Hammond, both of Danielsville; and two grandchildren, Rachel Fox and Anthony Fox, both of Easley, S.C.
The family was to have received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston.

Mrs. Fowler was bornin Cherokee County, a daughter of the late Willie Mae Anderson and Grady Jennens.
She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Baptist Church, Braselton. Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by her husband, William Fowler.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 13, at Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Phillips officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Lavern Burks, Braselton, and Wanda Lafauvre, Kissimmee, Fla.; three sisters, Mae Streerman, Mancheaster, and Jean Davis and Betty Waters, both of Gillsville; two brothers, Alfred Jennens, Okechobee, Fla., and John L. Jennens, Ila; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Watkins was bornJuly 1, 1930, in Madison County. He was a son of the late Ferd and Ruby Jarrett Watkins.
Mr. Watkins was retired from Barnett Trucking.

A native of Massachusetts, Mr. Coutu was retired as owner and operator of The Coin Shop in Jefferson.

A lifelong resident of Madison County, Mr. Floyd was a son of the late Roy Malone and Mary Francine Martin Floyd.
He retired from Holsolm Bakery in Athens, and was later employed with Dixie Leisure, Comer.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 13, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Burial was in Danielsville Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Mary A. Floyd; one daughter, Pamela D. Floyd, Danielsville; one son, Luther D. Born in Madison County, Mrs. Barber was a daughter of Mary Hunsinger Gaddis and the late Howard O. Gaddis.
She was a bookkeeper for Madison County and was a member of Macedonia Holiness Church.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 9, at Macedonia Holiness Church with the Revs. William Anglin and Artis Anglin officiating. Burial was in Danielsville Memorial Gardens. Tim Smith, Trampus Anglin, HC West, Frank Sanders, Carter Dove and Jerone Hill served as pallbearers.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Ricky Barber; one son, Michael Dowell, Ila; three sisters, Becky Anglin, Danielsville, Wanda Callaway, Carlton, and Donna Hunsinger, Athens; four brothers, George Gaddis, Billy Gaddis, Jr. Gaddis and Greg Gaddis, all of Danielsville; one grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Jeanette B. Sheridan
Mrs. Jeanette Brown Sheridan, 81, of Danielsville, diedWednesday, June 7, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Sheridan was bornJune 17, 1918, in Madison County. She was a daughter of the late Van and Nellie Langford Brown.
Mrs. Sheridan was a retired bookkeeper with Williams Energies and was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Augustus Sheridan, a brother, Otho Brown, and four sisters, Quilla Brown, Stella Henley, Jessie Beville and Recie Black.
Mrs. Sheridan was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 9, at Providence Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnny Tucker and Albert Vaughn officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Miriam Sheridan, Bowman; granddaughter, Mimi Sheridan, Bowman; and several nephews.
