Mr. Collins was bornOctober 17, 1935, in Jackson County. He was a son of Charles E. and Faye Tucker Collins, Commerce.
Mr. Collins was a retired auditor and a member of Madison Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Anne Collins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 14, at Madison Street Baptist Church with the Rev. David Harbin officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Sandra Carter Collins; two sons, Jay Hamilton Collins, Atlanta, and Jimmy David Collins, Ila; one daughter, Robin Renee Scoggins, Ila; two step-sons, Casey Evans, Maysville, and Edward Chuck Evans, Gainesville; one sister, Charla Lowe, Commerce; a foster brother, Gerald Mullins, Redding, Calif.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pauline S. Pittman
Mrs. Pauline Seagraves Pittman, 88, of Nicholson, diedFriday, June 9, 2000, at BJC Nursing Home.
Mrs. Pittman was bornMarch 15, 1912, in Madison County. She was a daughter of the late Arb and Nobie Gunnells Seagraves.
Mrs. Pittman was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theo Otis Pittman, and two sons, Otis Pittman and Billy Pittman.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 11, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. David Harbin officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Henry Pittman, Nicholson; one daughter, Hazel Lester, Nicholson; one brother, J.B. Seagraves, Kannapolis, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Lord was bornNovember 25, 1946, in Jackson County. He was a son of Betty Shirley Lord and the late Telford L. Lord.
Mr. Lord was a graduate of Commerce High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War, and was retired from Bell South.
Private graveside services were held Wednesday, June 14, at Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce, with Randy Wilhite officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Lord; three daughters, Denise Roberson, Athens, Teresa Wilhite, Buford, and Jeanna Skelton, Braselton; one sister, Marvalee Townsend, Marietta; two brothers, Robin Lord, Commerce, and John Shirley Lord, North Carolina; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

J.B. Humphries, 74, of Commerce, diedThursday, June 8, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Humphries was bornOctober 21, 1925, a son of the late Allie and Genevie Smith Humphries.
He had been employed as a truck driver.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 10, at New Bridge Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Manus and Verner London officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Flora Gerrell Humphries; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Malcolm Turner Vest, Commerce; one brother, Reeves Humphries, Demorest; three sisters, Vavanelle Keenan and Kathryn London, both of Cleveland, and Everene Stover, Gainesville; two granddaughters, Malinda and Jennifer Vest; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Otis C. "Junior" Barnett, 63, of Nicholson, diedTuesday, June 13, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Barnett was bornJune 12, 1937, in Jackson County. He was a son of Ovida Mildred Wilson Barnett, Nicholson, and the late Otis Barnett.
Mr. Barnett was retired from Dairy Pak and was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Pittman Barnett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at New Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Dillard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include one son, Keith Barnett, Nicholson; one daughter, Wanda Barnett, Nicholson; five brothers, Bobby Barnett, Arnoldsville, Jimmy Lee Barnett, Rome, N.Y., Mickey Barnett, Athens, and Weldon Barnett and Wendell Todd Barnett, both of Nicholson; and four sisters, Walla Mae Butler, Danielsville, Gail Edwards, Hull, Agnes Peterman, Nicholson, and Betty Ann Poole, Anderson, S.C.

Mr. Faulkner was bornJuly 31, 1929, in Jackson County. He was a son of the late Patrick S. and Essie Porter Faulkner.
Mr. Faulkner was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War, and was retired from Delta Airlines. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and a member of Hudson Lodge #294 F&AM.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 11, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Carlton Peters officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Jestean Minish Faulkner; two sons, Greg Faulkner, McDonough, and Patrick Faulkner, Monroe; one daughter, Diane Smith, Athens; one brother, M.S. Faulkner, Snellville; one sister, Florence Voyles, Commerce; and five grandchildren.

Bruce Edward Neave, 35, of Martin, diedSaturday, August 26, 2000.
Mr. Neave was bornMarch 7, 1965, in Oakland, Calif. He was a son of Sybilene Pritchett Neave, Martin, and James Lloyd Neave, Comer.
As an independent contractor, Mr. Neave was a drywall finisher and the owner of Neave Brothers Construction Company. He attended Franklin County High School and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 29, at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Revs. Grady Jordan and Duane Eller officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Tracy Coker Neave; one son, Brian James Neave; one step-son, Justin Grier; one step-daughter, Kathi Grier; two brothers, Jeff Neave, Alto, and Mike Neave, Seneca, S.C.; and one sister, Sheila Westbrooks, Royston.

Mrs. Ruth F. Hardigree, 85, of Statham, formerly of Athens, diedMonday, August 28, 2000.
Mrs. Hardigree was bornin Madison County, a daughter of the late Dan and Anna Barber Fouche.
She was a retired beautician and was a member of Young Harris United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hardigree was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Hardigree, and nine brothers.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, August 30, in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Mike Marsingill officiating.
Mrs. Hardigree is survived by one brother, Luther Fouche, Athens; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brittain was preceded in death by her husband, George Stanley Brittain, and two daughters, Patsy J. Smith and Phyllis Dunn Ashley.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, August 30, in Danielsville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating. Greg Warren, Mike Brittain, Lamar Stephens, Allan Phillips, Clifford Davis and Bennie Davis served as pallbearers.
Survivors include one daughter, Vivian B. Abercrombie, Danielsville; one son, Ray S. Brittain, Watkinsville; one step-son, David Ray Wood, Union, S.C.; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
