A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Tom and Marceline Epps Bradley.
She was a member of Hull Baptist Church.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Johnson.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 29, at Hull Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Members of the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department Honor Guard served as pallbearers.
Survivors include one daughter, Pattie Johnson, Hull; two sons, Tommy M. Johnson and Danny P. Johnson, both of Hull; one sister, Connie B. McCurley, Crawford; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

James Cecil Hyde, 59, of Maysville, diedWednesday, August 23, 2000, at Gwinnett Medical Center.
Mr. Hyde was bornDecember 17, 1940, in Wallace, W.Va. He was a son of the late Roy and Minnie Steir Hyde.
Mr. Hyde was employed as an electrician. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Curtis Hyde.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 26, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with Minister Jeff Coalson officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Mr. Hyde is survived by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Hyde; three sons, David R. Hyde, Fayetteville, Michael L. Hyde, Locust Grove, and Patrick J. Hyde, Commerce; two daughters, Mary Jo Moore, Sardis, W.Va., and Linda M. Waldrop, Ila; three brothers, David Hyde, Tallahassee, Fla., Robert Hyde, Houston, Texas, and Roger Hyde, Tempe, Ariz.; two sisters, Marilyn Murdock, Tulsa, Okla., and Mary Orme, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and 12 grandchildren.

Phillip Carey Dove, 29, of Waldo, Fla., diedFriday, August 25, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Dove was bornMarch 22, 1971, in Clarke County. He was a son of James Daniel and Cynthia Arnold Dove, Colbert.
Mr. Dove was a painter.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 27, at Appalachee Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating. Burial was in the Appalachee Cemetery. Mike McBurnett, Shannon Elder, Rickey Higginbotham, Lanier Stephens, Steve Potter, Mark Cochran, Joe Adcock and Dwain Paraham served as pallbearers.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include one brother, Jason Daniel Dove, Colbert; two half-brothers, Jace C. Gordon and David C. Gordon, both of Athens; two half-sisters, Susan Ann Gordon, Athens, and Shannon L. Gordon, Wichita Falls, Texas; maternal grandparents, Mrs. Sylvia Cochran McCannon, Athens, and Bill McCannon, Watkinsville; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Myrtie Shedd Dove, Colbert; companion, Kathryn Deming, Waldo, Fla.; and one nephew.

Mrs. Betty Paul, of Athens, formerly of Jackson County, diedThursday, November 30, 2000.
A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Paul was a daughter of the late Theodore and Flora Freeman Ewing.
She was a homemaker and a member of Church of the Nations. Mrs. Paul was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett Paul.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 3, at Church of the Nations with the Rev. Mel Holmes officiating. Burial was in Athens Memory Gardens.
Survivors include one daughter, Teresa Gordon, Watkinsville; two step-daughters, Connie Street, Lawrenceville, and Sandra Godwin, Haralson; three sons, Sal Merola Jr., Bogart, Reggie Merola, Winder, and Tim Merola, Watkinsville; one step-son, Gary Paul, Athens; four sisters, Thelma Hollis, Jefferson, Louise Cannon, Athens, Willie Holder, Cleveland, and Frances Mills, Holiday; one brother, Jerry Ewing, Monroe; 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A native of Banks County, Mrs. Nunn was a daughter of the late Jewell and Maude Wilson Phillips.
She was formerly employed with Poss's Lakeview Restaurant and was a member of Athens Church of Christ. Mrs. Nunn was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Nunn.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 6, at Arthur Bowick's Oconee Chapel, Watkinsville, with Bill Simmons officiating. Burial was in the Union Christian Church cemetery.

John Thurston "Pete" Barber Sr., 88, of Hull, diedWednesday, November 29, 2000.
Born in Jackson County, Mr. Barber lived most of his life in Athens. He was a son of the late John and Folsom Frances Wallace Barber.
Mr. Barber owned and operated Barber Heating & Air Conditioning for over 40 years and was a member of Christian Life Worship Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Helen Sims Barber.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 1, in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, with the Revs. Swayne Carlan and Cecil Holcombe officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Ron Hardeman, David Smith, Dee Prince, Matthew Allen, Johnny Barber and Chuck Blakeman served as pallbearers.

Born in Franklin, N.C., Mrs. Stoyle was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Bessie Elizabeth Blaine McClure.
She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mrs. Stoyle was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Stoyle, a son, Bobby Lee Stoyle, and four daughters, Ira Maureen Stoyle, Viola Lee Stoyle, Birdie Mae Stoyle Vinson and Polly Jane Stoyle.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 2, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Dayton Logan and Robby Brown officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Harry Wilson, Tim Archer, Donald Stoyle, Steve Glover, William Royston and Tony Franks served as pallbearers.

She was employed with Georgia Child Support Enforcement and was of the Baptist denomination.

Mrs. Fleeman is survived by children, Cornelius E. Fleeman IV, North Augusta, S.C., Susan E. Tuck, Marietta, Donna L. Williamson, Winder, and Jonathan A. Fleeman, Atlanta; brothers, Marvin Baird, Hull, and J.R. Baird Jr., Winder; sisters, Mattie Lee Baker, Trinity, N.C., Darlene Hembree, Greensboro, N.C., Curtistine Massey-Bruce, Nicholson, and Ester Summers, Bartow, Fla.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Leavy Collins
Leavy Collins, 78, of Collins, diedThursday, February 8, 2001, at his residence.
Mr. Collins was a son of Asa Collins. He was a veteran of World War II, having received a Purple Heart while serving in France and North Africa. Mr. Collins was a retired correctional officer for Reidsville Georgia State Prison.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 10, in the chapel of Kennedy Morgan Funeral Home, Cobb Town. Burial was in the Conner Baptist Church cemetery, Collins.
Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Irma Jean Sykes Collins; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Morris Lively, Collins, and Barbara and Randy Hackel, Metter; daughter, Vicky Gaffney and husband, Lyons; sons, Wayne Leavy Collins, Jefferson, R.D.
