Arnold Richard Hill, 78, of Canon, diedFriday, September 26, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Hill was bornMarch 7, 1925, in Franklin County. He was a son of the late Louis and Bell Alewine Hill.
Mr. Hill was employed with J.H. Carter for 21 years and had been a self-employed pulpwood cutter and farmer for the last few years. He was of the Church of God denomination.
Mr. Hill was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Hill, and a sister, Virginia Hill.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 28, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Revs. Johnny Stowe and Roby Wooby officiating. Burial was in Franklin Memorial Gardens, South. Todd Hill, Josh Harris, Scott Busby, Keith Hill, Kenny Hill and Kevin Busby served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Royston, Tony Royston, Brandon Hill, Ken Bond, Jeff Bond and Matthew Vaughn.
Mr. Hill is survived by his wife, Ida Mae Hunter Hill, Canon; four sons, Richard, Dean, Jerry and Terry Hill, all of Canon; six daughters, Jane Bond and Judy Hill, both of Royston, the Rev. Barbara Vaughn, Carolyn Harris and Tammie Chappelear, all of Lavonia, and Nancy Busby, Canon; one brother, Robert Hill, Canon; four sisters, Macy Shiflet, Mary Shiflet and Estelle Kirkland, all of Canon, and Florence Murray, Bogart; 26 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Parks Little
Bonnie Parks Little, 66, of Bowersville, diedSunday, September 28, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Little was bornSeptember 25, 1937, in Hart County, a son of the late Bonnie and Mary McGarity Little.
A United States Navy veteran, Mr. Little was a retired district manager for the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Athens Daily News and the Anderson Independent. He was a member of Old Canon Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Eldon Massey officiating. Burial was in Bowers Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Little is survived by his wife, Betty Mackey Little, Bowersville; daughter, Connie Berryman, Elberton; sister, Hazel Carlton, Canon; grandson, Jason Lee, Elberton; and granddaughter, Amber Berryman, Elberton.

Bernice S. Ramsey
Mrs. Bernice Smith Ramsey, 94, of Hartwell Health Care Center, formerly of N. Forest Ave., Hartwell, diedSaturday, September 27, 2003, at the Hartwell Health Care Center.
Born December 1, 1908, in Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Ramsey was a daughter of the late Luke L. Smith and Addie Murray Smith.
She retired from the Hartwell Garment Company where she was a seamstress. She had formerly run the Salvation Army Clothing Store of Hartwell and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell, where she taught Sunday School for 35 years.
Mrs. Ramsey was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lovie T. Ramsey, a brother, Lewis J. Smith, and a sister, Damie Sue Glenn.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, in Nancy Hart Memorial Park with the Rev. Gary Thompson officiating.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Byron L. and Mary Ann Ramsey, Hull, and Bobby R. and Lenora Ramsey, Hartwell; sister, Juanelle Bowen, Hull; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Ruth C. Brown
Mrs. Ruth Cannon Brown, 82, of Commerce, diedTuesday, September 23, 2003, at BJC Nursing Home, Commerce.
Born May 12, 1921, in Rabun County, Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late Raleigh and Lola Swafford Cannon.
She was a homemaker and of the Methodist denomination. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cecil Brown.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 26, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with Jennifer Gooby officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Brannen, Loganville, and Rosalyn Wilson, Duluth; three sisters, Estelle Beavers, Conyers, Nora Mobley, Covington, and Doris Murphy, Gainesville; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Stewart Hart
John Stewart Hart, 53, of Danielsville, diedSaturday, November 29, 2003, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born January 21, 1950, in Franklin County, Mr. Hart was a son of the late John Walter and Allene Cornelia Cromer Hart.
He was formerly employed as a meat cutter with Dills Food City in Royston, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. Hart was a United States Army veteran, having served in Germany during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, John Will, James, Secret and Leon Hart.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Davison officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Phil Bryant, Alton Carey, Greg Watson, Robert Duval, Tracy Dilworth and Tony Martin served as pallbearers.
Survivors include a son, Corey Hart, Danielsville; brother, Benson Hart, Toccoa; and sisters, Louise Martin, Royston, Nancy Floyd, Watkinsville, and JoAnn Bradberry, Hull.

Mozelle Gunter
Mrs. Mozelle King Gunter, 81, of Carlton, diedMonday, December 1, 2003.
A native of Madison County, Mrs. Gunter was a daughter of the late William Santford and Lucy Amendia Seymour King.
She was a lifelong member of Carlton Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gunter was preceded in death by her husband, Collie Gunter, four sisters, Delree, Ruby, Irene and Edna, and seven brothers, Bill, Clea, Tim, Van, Neal, Roy and Albert.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 4, at Carlton Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Ivey officiating. Burial will be in the Carlton Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Sheila A. Gunter, Atlanta; sister, Mary Frances Porterfield, Orangeburg, S.C.; brother, Robert J. King, Carlton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Annie Mae Driver
Ms. Annie Mae Driver, 84, of Royston, diedMonday, November 24, 2003, at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston.
Ms. Driver was bornin Hart County on June 27, 1919. She was a daughter of the late Elic and Minnie Thompson Driver.
Ms. Driver was a caregiver and a member of Vanna United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clinton, Hubert and L.T., and two sisters, Mozelle Driver and Adell Fleming.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Revs. Francestine Green and Malcolm Herndon officiating. Burial was in the Vanna United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Carey, Royston; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Dorothy V. Pittman
Mrs. Dorothy Virginia Davis Pittman, 75, of Hull, diedSunday, November 30, 2003.
A native of Seneca, S.C., Mrs. Pittman was a daughter of the late Claude Bennett and Novie Turpin Davis.
She lived her childhood years in the Athens area before moving to Florida, and retiring back to Madison County. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Pittman was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Pittman.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Gerald Bishop officiating.

Warren Pierce (W.P.) Winn Jr., 82, of the Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston, formerly of Bowman, diedSunday, November 30, 2003.
Mr. Winn was bornApril 5, 1921, in Elbert County, a son of the late Warren Pierce Winn Sr. and the late Minnie Hillard Winn.
He was a retired truck driver and was of the Methodist denomination. Mr. Winn was preceded in death by three brothers, Hugh, Watson and Hoyt Winn.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Revs. Jim Winn and Billy Owensby officiating. Burial was in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Winn is survived by his wife, Evelyn Bowen Mize Winn, Royston; a son, Ronald D. Winn, Hartwell; step-son, Henry Mize, Douglasville; step-daughter, Nancy Mize Glenn, Jefferson; one grandson, seven step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren.

Clifton ‘John’ Wilder
Clifton “John” Wilder, 62, of Taylors, S.C., diedThursday, November 27, 2003, at St. Francis Women’s and Family Hospital.
Born in Greenville, S.C., Mr. Wilder was a son of the late James Emery and Bernice Ophelia Kirk Wilder.
Mr. Wilder served his country in the United States Air Force and spent his career as a long distance truck driver. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtice Wilder Taylor and Frankie Wilder McCall, and three brothers, Charles Buford, James Alvin and Jimmy Ed Wilder.
A celebration of Mr. Wilder’s life will be held at a later date per his request.
Survivors include three sisters, Irene Grant Smith, Pell City, Ala., Barbara Wilder Grey, De Funiak Springs, Fla., and Sarah Wilder Losh, Waterloo, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
