Funeral services for Mrs. Helen R. Self, 74, of Seffner, Fla, will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003 at 5 p.m. at Landmark Baptist Church.
Mrs. Self died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003.
Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home of Brandon, Fla. was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Self was born in Thomaston, she moved to Tampa in 1947. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Benjamin, John, Hoyt and Larry; a daughter, Debbie Mortellaro; brothers, Franklin and Miles; sisters, Aline Fowler and Julia Danielly; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
John Warren Smith
Funeral services for Mr. John Warren Smith, 70, of Barnesville, were held Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Stafford and Rev. Gary Thompson officiating. Burial followed in Lamar Memory Gardens.
Mr. Smith died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003 at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smith was born Jan. 30, 1932, in Pike County but had lived in Barnesville for many years. He was the son of the late Augustus Smith and Mrs. Beaula Owens Smith. He was retired from Southland Casket Company in Atlanta. Mr. Smith was a faithful member of the Good Sheppard Worship Center. He served in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Bunn Smith of Barnesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Terry Jones, Jody and Steve Desch all of Barnesville, Donna and Robert Brantley of Charleston, S.C. and Angela and Ralph Wilson of Orlando, Fla.; brother, Mr. Franklin Smith of Thomaston; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Judy C. Thorne
Funeral services for Mrs. Judy C. Thorne., 54, of Garden Terrace, were held Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Thomaston Church of God with the Rev. Edward Rigby and Rev. Dean Hemphill officiating. Burial followed in Upson Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Thorne died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003 at her residence.
Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Thorne was a native of Upson County. She had been a shipping department clerk at Thomaston Mills and was a member of the Thomaston Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Jimmy Leonard Thorne of Thomaston; daughters, Mrs. Nikki T. Pierce of Brunswick, Miss Laurie H. Thorne, Mrs. Jamie T. Goggins and Mrs. Myrle A. Corley all of Thomaston; sister, Mrs. Gail Hammack of Thomaston; brother, Mr. Benny Corley of Thomaston; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Charlie Williams, of Barnesville, will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003 at 1 p.m. from the Sand Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Butler and Rev. K. Frances officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Williams died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003 at his residence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dotie Brumbeloe Ellerbee, were held Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Pasley-Fletcher Chapel with the Rev. Teddy Hardeman and the Rev. John Aulds officiating. Burial followed in the Hendricks Church Cemetery.
William Maurice Gabriel
Funeral services for Mr. William Maurice Gabriel, 86, of Stockbridge, were held Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel with the Rev. Steve Cravin officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Gabriel died Monday, July 28, 2003.

Mr. Gabriel was a retired foreman with Warren Refrigeration.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda (Jerry) Kay of Woodstock, Vernoica (Bill) Adams of Milner and Karen (Gene) Hudgins of Stockbridge; a son, Terry (Pat) Gabriel of Thomaston; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Vera H. Gilmore
Miss Vera H. Gilmore, 82, of South Center Street, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003 at Providence Health Care.

Bonnie Franklin Holloway Sr.
Graveside services for Mr. Bonnie Franklin Holloway Sr., 78, of The Rock Road, were held Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at 4 p.m. in Southview Cemetery with the Rev. Jacob King officiating.
Mr. Holloway died Monday, July 28, 2003 at Christian Ministries Hospice.
Coggins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Holloway was a citizen of Upson County. He was the owner and operator of Holloway Grocery Store for 38 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Holloway was also a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Holloway of Thomaston; his son, Mr. Bob Holloway of Thomaston; daughter, Mrs. Nancy Waldroup of Thomaston; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Daniel of Thomaston; and four grandchildren.
James Daniel Jordan
Funeral services for Mr. James Daniel Jordan, 73, will be held Thursday, July 31, 2003 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Robert W. Brown, Rev. Earl Oglesby and Rev. Ronnie Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Jordan died Monday, July 28, 2003 at Shand's Hospital, Gainesville, Fla.

Mr. Jordan was born in Spalding County, Ga. but lived in Thomaston for many years. He was retired from Federal Paperboard Company where he worked for over 25 years as a printer. Mr. Jordan was a member of First United Methodist Church where he served on the Administrative board and the board of trustees and was a member of the Service Sunday School Class. Mr. Jordan also gave of his time and himself as a volunteer for the cancer patient transport service and the American Red Cross.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Y. Jordan of Thomaston; a son, Mr. Patrick Jordan of Chattanooga, Tenn.; daughter, Mrs. Martha Ann Cobb of Swainsboro; and three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to First United Methodist Church, Cherokee Road, Thomaston, Ga. 30286.
Lee Earnest Holston
Mr. Lee Earnest Holston, 70, of Yatesville, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at Providence Health Care.

Mr. Holston was a lifelong resident of Upson County. He was retired from Martha Mill.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Queen Holston of Yatesville; daughters, Ms. Mary Ann Holston, Mrs. Zepha (Charlie) Dawson and Ms. Cassandra Dixon, all of Thomaston; a step-daughter, Mrs. Diane (Rodney) Pettaway of Riverdale; sons, Mr. Archie (Helen) Holston and Mr. Bernard (Melissa) Holston, both of Thomaston; four step-sons, two he raised as his own, Mr. Ulysses Gibson of Yatesville and Mr. Willie C. (Vernice) Gibson of Griffin and Mr. Freddie Monfort of Forest Park and Mr. Donnie (Shelia) Andrews of Thomaston; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Mr. Reuben (Rosa) Holston of Yatesville; a sister, Mrs. Lois Kendall of Yatesville; mother-in-law, Mrs. Mattie Mae Bell of Butler; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Dessie Little, Mr. Willie (Diane) Bell and Mr. Johnny (Mamie) Bell, all of Butler and Mr. Jimmy (Bernice) Bell of Rochester, N.Y.; aunts and uncles, Mrs. Lillian Graddick, and Mr. Rufus (Clevie) Battle, all of Yatesville, Mr. Robert Holston of Atlanta and Mrs. Cora Lee Battle of Roberta; a devoted friend to the family, Mrs. Tracy Gibson of Macon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him.
