SAUTEE NACOOCHEE - Stephen Shouppe, 41, diedSaturday, October 2, 1999, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Shouppe was bornSeptember 16, 1958 in Miami, Fla. He was a son of Joe P. Shouppe, Clearwater, Fla., and the late Ruth Kircher Shouppe.
Mr. Shouppe was a graduate of Flagler College, Saint Augustine, Fla. He had lived in this area for the past four years and was a teacher with the Habersham and Banks County School systems. Mr. Shouppe was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Clarkesville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 5, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Griffin and the Rev. Tom Fish officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Dorothy Shouppe; one daughter, Samantha Shouppe, Sautee Nacoochee; and one son, Stephen Shouppe Jr., Sautee Nacoochee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one's local high school Booster Club.

GRIFFIN - Wallace Milford Ussery, 78, diedWednesday, November 1, 2000, at Christian Ministries Hospice.
Mr. Ussery was bornMay 6, 1922. He had been employed in car sales.
Mr. Ussery was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Hawks Ussery.
Graveside services were held Saturday, November 4, in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce, with the Rev. Harold Crawford officiating.
Mr. Ussery is survived by one son, Wally Ussery, Naples, Fla.; and one sister, Helen Higgenbbotham, Jacksonville, Fla.

JEFFERSON - Mrs. Lois R. Anglin, 81, diedTuesday, November 28, 2000, at her residence.
Mrs. Anglin was bornFebruary 24, 1919, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Albert Henry Adams and Rebecca Strickland.
Mrs. Anglin was retired from Harmony Grove Mills and was a member of Jefferson Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by two sons, J.W. Holloway and Mike Anglin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 30, in the chapel of Jackson Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial was in Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson.
Mrs. Anglin is survived by her husband, Jesse T. Anglin, Jefferson; one son, Ostell Anglin, Jefferson; one sister, Lena Sargent, Gainesville; three grandchildren, Frankie Angline, Jefferson, Tim Anglin and Casey Angline, both of Winder; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

COMMERCE - Albert Alfred Groover, 52, diedFriday, November 24, 2000, at North Fulton Hospital.
Mr. Groover was bornJune 25, 1948, a son of Lenora Crocker Groover, Commerce, and the late John Groover.
He was a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Groover was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Groover.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 27, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce. Burial was in the Jordan Family Cemetery.
Mr. Groover is survived by his wife, Brenda Groover, Commerce; one son, Daryle Groover, Duluth; three daughters, Cindy Groover, Duluth, Michelle Hamilton, Talladega, Ala., and Robbie Hearn, Buford; two brothers, David Groover, Baldwin, and J.T. Groover, Commerce; two sisters, Joyce Groover and Sarah Groover, both of Commerce; and 11 grandchildren.

Mr. Williams was bornDecember 17, 1948, in Barrow County. He was a son of the late E.M. and Lois England Williams.
Mr. Williams was employed as a mechanic.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, November 29, in the Bethabra Baptist Church cemetery, Winder.
Survivors include one son, Stacy Williams, Royston; one sister, Marion Jenkins, Cumming; four brothers, D.E. Williams, Gary Williams and Harold Williams, all of Athens, and Eddie Eugene Williams, Watkinsville; and two grandchildren.

COMMERCE - Paul Ashton Thompson, 57, diedMonday, November 20, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Thompson was bornNovember 9, 1943, in Pensacola, Fla., the son of the late Ashton A. Thompson and Mary Babic Thompson.
He was a former member of the United States Army Reserve and a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, Commerce. Mr. Thompson was also an engineer with Lucintech.
A memorial mass was held Saturday, November 25, at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church with Father Richard K. Tibbetts officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Rosella Rigley Thompson, Commerce; three sons, Paul, Oakwood, Kevin, Greyson, and Andrew, Commerce; and one sister, Katharin Thompson, Vernon Hills, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

ATHENS - Franklin Joseph "Joe" Archer, 40, diedSaturday, November 25, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Archer was bornMarch 20, 1960, in Jackson County. He was a son of Bobby and Nell Gibson Archer, Jefferson.
Mr. Archer was employed as a plumber and attended Prince Avenue Baptist Church, Athens. He was preceded in death by a sister, June Irwin.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 27, at Redstone United Methodist Church with the Revs. Buford Lockman and Bill Carpenter officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Gene Nixon, D.J. Day, Chuck Hawkins, A.G. Gibson, Randy Mealor, Brandon Archer and Doug Moore served as pallbearers.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Terri Carnes Logan Archer, Athens; two step-daughters, Keri Logan and Mary-Morgan Logan, both of Athens; two sisters, Helen Rider, Texas, and Barbara Campbell, Greensboro; and three brothers, Dean Archer and David Archer, both of Athens, and Eddie Archer, Jefferson.

Johnny Williamson
Johnny Williamson, 91, of Baldwin, diedThursday, November 23, 2000, at Habersham County Medical Center following a short illness.
Mr. Williamson was bornJune 29, 1909, in Anderson County, S.C. He was a retired poultry and cattle farmer and was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.
Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Wilson Williamson. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Graveside services were held Saturday, November 25, at Beaverdam Baptist Church, Commerce, with the Rev. Roy Rogers officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Williamson is survived by one son, Arthur Williamson, Commerce; and two grandsons.

DANIELSVILLE - Mrs. Kathleen Wade Fitzpatrick, 90, diedThursday, November 23, 2000.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick was bornin Jackson County, a daughter of the late Ned and Nola Lord Wade.
She was a homemaker and a member of Ila Baptist Church. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was preceded in death by her husband, Doris Fitzpatrick, and a son, David "Pete" Fitzpatrick.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 26, at Ila Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Anderson and Ray Jenkins officiating. Burial was in Ila Cemetery. Mike Fitzpatrick, Leon Fitzpatrick, Reuben Fitzpatrick, Tim Fitzpatrick, David McGinnis and Marc Perry served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Lord Fitzpatrick, Bill Chandler and Darrell Coile.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick is survived by one daughter, Peggy Freeman, Danielsville; one brother, Grady Wade, Alto; and two grandchildren, Joy King and Michael Freeman.

Mrs. Worley was bornAugust 18, 1921, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Grover B. and Pearl Louise Johnson Acree.
Mrs. Worley was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Worley.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 29, at Community Baptist Church with the Revs. Ray Jenkins and George Pate officiating. Burial was in Danielsville Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Worley is survived by four daughters, Barbara Brock, Commerce, Linda Haley, Ila, Patricia Hill, Danielsville, and JoNell Payton, Durant, Miss.; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
