LAWRENCEVILLE - Lamar Davis, 53, diedMonday, February 26, 2001.
A native of Gwinnett County, Mr. Davis was a son of the late Leon and Florene Davis.
He was employed as a tow truck driver for Lance Wrecker Service, with 35 years of service, and also worked for several years as a tow truck driver for Peach State Speedway, Jefferson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Rolland Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Gwinnett Memorial Park, Lawrenceville. All employees of Lance Wrecker Service and affiliates with Peach State Speedway will serve as honorary escorts.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Lanetta Mundy Davis, Lawrenceville; children, Kevin Davis, Kathryn Davis and Keith Davis, all of Lawrenceville; sisters, Rita Dean and Gloria Moon, both of Lawrenceville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family was to have received friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Lawrenceville.

ILA - Mrs. Thiara Rhudene Moreland Calhoun, 77, diedTuesday, February 20, 2001.
A native of Carroll County, Mrs. Calhoun was a daughter of the late Newton and Lottie Bell Moreland. She was the wife of the late J.C. Calhoun.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 24, at Emmanuel United Pentecostal Church, Nicholson, with the Rev. Jerry Wheeler officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters, Maxine Wright, Athens, Retanza Wheeler, Cartersville, Pamela Calhoun, Ila, and Carolyn Turner, Commerce; five sons, Rufus Calhoun, Decatur, Donnie Calhoun, Macon, Victor Calhoun and Ricky Calhoun, both of Ila, and Dexter Calhoun, Commerce; two sisters, Mildred Hammitt and Miriam Barringer, both of Dayton, Ohio; three brothers, James Moreland and Tommy Moreland, both of Dayton, Ohio, and Orville Moreland, Canton, Ohio; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

JEFFERSON - Mrs. Frances "Mie Mie" Parks Roberts, 74, diedTuesday, February 27, 2001, at Athens Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mrs. Roberts was bornDecember 15, 1926, in Banks County, a daughter of the late Henry Osborne and Lucille Segars Parks.
She was retired from General Time, Athens, and was a member of Dry Pond United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie B. Roberts, a sister, Ruby Swenney, and three brothers, Garnett Parks, Willie Parks and H.O. Parks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Dry Pond United Methodist Church with Minister Tom Plank and the Rev. Phil Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Ricky Hemphill, Tim Aiken, Michael "Tater" Davis, Larry Davis, Tommy Swenney, David Parks, Walt Parks and Jeff Streetman will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors include one son, Gene Roberts, Newport News, Va.; two daughters, Shirley Bond, Jefferson, and Pat Stephens, Athens; three sisters, Betty Davis, Clara Hemphill and Alma Aiken, all of Jefferson; one brother, John Parks, Tifton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

COLBERT - Ret. Sgt. Al Fielding, 70, diedTuesday, February 20, 2001.
A native of Oconee County, Mr. Fielding was a son of the late Everett and Myrt Christopher Fielding.
He was a retired sergeant of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Fielding was also a member of Antioch Christian Church, Watkinsville.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 23, with full military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Jurlee Fielding; four daughters, Mary Brown, Athens, and Margaret Boles, Sandra Craven and Janet Moon, all of Hull; one son, James Fielding, Watkinsville; one step-daughter, Jenny Logan, Hull; three step-sons, Chris Bonner and Waymon Bonner, both of Athens, and Louie Bonner, Watkinsville; four sisters, Stella Harbin and Edna Pugh, both of Watkinsville, and Bessie Epps and Sarah Norton, both of Jefferson; 12 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Garrett was bornMay 6, 1933, in Abbeville, S.C. He was a son of Birdie Holcomb Garrett and the late Vester Garrett.
Mr. Garrett worked as a mechanic with Garrett Automotive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Hassie Garrett.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, at Apple Valley Baptist Church, Commerce, with the Revs. Dennis Kesler, Johnathan Randall and Lee Hunter officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Suggs was bornJune 2, 1913, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Leslie Williamson and Bertha Thurmond Williamson. She was the wife of the late B. Suggs.
Mrs. Suggs was a homemaker and a member of Berea Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Henry Webb and Terry James officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Mrs. Suggs is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Born in Gwinnett County, Mr. Bachelor was a son of James and Rhonda Bachelor, Braselton.
He attended Jackson County Comprehensive High School and was a welder.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, with the Rev. Thomas Terry officiating. Burial was in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford.

A native of Jackson County, Mr. Martin was bornOctober 20, 1918. He was a son of the late Ernest and Nolia Lord Martin.
Mr. Martin was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, and was a retired carpenter. He was of the Baptist denomination.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Lottrell Purcell Martin.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 6, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Bill Carpenter and Billy Shirley officiating. Burial was in the Chandler Family Cemetery, Commerce.

Born in Homer, Mr. Jordan was a son of the late James Pleasant and Mary Lou Cheek Jordan.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II, and had worked at a filling station. Mr. Jordan was of the Baptist denomination.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Hoyt Johnson officiating.
Survivors include one son, James Wallace Jordan, Athens; two sisters, Burma Sue Smith, Danielsville, and Monti Ray Lu Allen, Commerce; two brothers, Allen Jordan, Ila, and Hayde Jordan, Orlando, Fla.; one grandchild, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
