Services for Morris Brewer of Lumber City were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, in the chapel of Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst with interment in Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City.

Brewer, 94, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003. A lifelong resident of Telfair County, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Aliff Powell Brewer. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his brother, Hughey Brewer of Bonaire; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.

Linda Darlene Bunting Dover
Services for Linda Darlene Bunting Dover of McRae were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with interment in Oakgrove Cemetery.

Dover, 41, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003. A native of Lakeland, Fla., she was formerly employed with Amercord and with Little Ocmulgee State Park. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Dover of McRae; parents, Patsy McClure of Baxley and Jim Bunting of McRae; daughters, Patty Bunting of Gray, Jessica Dover and Tiffany Dover, both of McRae; son, Shane Bunting of Baxley; brother, Randy Bunting of Baxley; sister, Michelle Ricks of McRae; two grandchildren and her parents-in-law.

Resa Pearl Lashley Meeks
Services for Resa Pearl Lashley Meeks of McRae were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, in the chapel of Lowe’s Funeral Home with interment in Helena City Cemetery. The Rev. Darrell Barlow officiated.
Meeks, 64, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2004 after an extended illness. A native of Chamber County, Ala., she was the daughter of the late George Eddie and Mary Pearl Williams Lashley.
Survivors include her children, Deborah Boatright of Pearson, Patricia Walsh of Boca Raton, Fla., Sharon Hulett of Eastman, Charles Boatright of Douglas, Linda Ayala of Palm Bay, Fla., and George Boatright of Fitzgerald; sisters, Dorothy Swilley of Helena and Joyce Conley of Polk City, Fla.; brothers, Elmer Lashley of Homerville and Frank Lashley of Winter Gardens, Fla.; companion, Wayne Forbes; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.

Services for E.B. Warnock of Moultrie were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, in the chapel of Harrell Faircloth Funeral Home with interment in Spring Hill Cemetery in Wheeler County. The Rev. Donnie Sloan officiated.
Warnock, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003. A native of Wheeler County, he was the son of the late John Benjamin and Addie McDaniel Warnock. He was a retired contractor and carpenter and a member of Conley Drive Baptist Church in East Point.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Cleve and Pam Warnock of Hapeville; sister, Mary Lucille Taylor of Chapel Hill, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

Russell Webb
Services for Russell Webb of McRae was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, in the chapel of Lowe’s Funeral Home with interment in Telfair Memorial Gardens.

Webb, 68, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003. A native of Telfair County, he was the son of the late William Frank and Mary Bell Walker Webb. He was in the construction business and a member of Dodge's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Webb of McRae; children, Russell Franklin Webb of Warner Robins, Ramonia Lee Morris of Warner Robins, Billy Ray Webb of McRae, Greggory Steve Webb of Eastman, Mary Teresa Ard of Forsyth, Judith Carol Webb of McRae, Melissa Nell Webb of McRae, Markus Andrew Webb of McRae; sisters, Aletha Beauchamp of McRae, Frances Nell White of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren, three-great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Tim White of Jonesboro were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, in the chapel of Pope Dickson & Son Jonesboro Chapel.
White, 51, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003. He was the son of FRances N. White of Jonesboro and the late Harry E. White Sr. and the grandson of the late Frank and Mary Belle Walker WEbb and the late Jim and Mary Sue Waldon White, all of Telfair County.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Janice Potts White ; sons, Justin White and James White of Jonesboro; brothers, Harry E. White and Sidney W. White of Jonesboro, Thomas E. White of Douglasville and Joseph E. White of Fayetteville.

Charles Kytle Burch Sr.
Services for Charles Kytle Burch Sr. were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Chauncey Baptist Church with interment in Chauncey Cemetery.

Burch, 69, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003. A lifelong resident of Dodge County, he was the son of the late Clifford A. Burch and Beatrice Kytle Burch. A member and deacon of Chauncey Baptist Church, he was a member of OA Grant Sunday school class and a retired truck driver for Stuckey’s Inc. with 29 years of service. A tree farmer, he was a former tax assessor for Dodge County and mayor of Chauncey for 23 years.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Harrell Burch; daughter, Jenny B. Brown; sons, Charles K. Burch Jr., Harrell C. Burch and Chris L. Burch; and 10 grandchildren.

Johnson, 51, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003 in the Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Ga. She was the daughter of Evelyn Rushing and the late Monroe Johnson.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her daughters, Sheila Person of Morrow, Carolyn Eady of Rhine, and Valerie Griggs of Eastman; sisters, Shirley P. Paulhill of Atlanta, Mary Rushing of Eastman, and Eva M. Bishop of Rhine; brothers, Blondell Bishop of Rhine, Charles Rushing and Edward Rushing, both of Eastman; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Maddox, 71, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003. A native of Chauncey, he lived in Rhine most of his life. He was the son of the late William Edward Maddox Sr. and Louise Bruce Maddox. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a retired truck driver and member of Rhine Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Maddox of Rhine; daughter, Jeanne Griggs of Ellaville; son, John E. Miller of Rhine; sisters, Augustine Stevens of Warner Robins and Doris Sexton of Tampa, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Creighton Smith

Smith, 65, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. A native of Telfair County, he was the son of the late Oscar Calvin Smith. A member of the McRae Lions Club, former member of the Army Reserves and was member of Helena Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was manager of Inventory and Quality Control of Golden Peanut Co. for 47 years.
Survivors include his wife, Javene Smith of Helena; daughters, Kim Garrett of Dublin and Celese McKinnon of Helena; mother, Valma W. Smith of Helena; and four grandchildren.

Effie Stepherson
Services for Effie Stepherson of Miami, Fla. were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Fla. with interment in Dade Memorial Park.

Stepherson, 84, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003. A native of Telfair County, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Bessie Collins Smith and widow of the late Rev. James W. Stepherson. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for 43 years.
Survivors include her sons, the Rev. J.W. Stepherson, II of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Johnny Stepherson of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Hilton Stepherson of Miami, Fla.; daughter, Jeanette Wenze of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister, Betty Smith Carson of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, and relatives.

Melba Martin Stout
Services for Melba Martin Stout of Macon were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church with interment in Riverside Cemetery.

Stout, 73, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003. A native of Uvalda, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Melvin M. and Clarice M. Martin and was predeceased by a brother, Ralph C. Martin.
Stout graduated from Brewton Parker Institute in Mt. Vernon and attended Georgia State College for Women, now Valdosta State University. A teacher, she taught in Patterson, Swainsboro, Eastman and McRae. A member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, the Joy Sunday school class and the Esther circle, she was a volunteer for Macon Outreach.
Survivors include her husband, Carter McRae Stout; sons, Robert McRae Stout of LaGrange and Larry Martin Stout of Tifton; sisters, Agnes Martin Heule of Pensacola, Fla. and Maxine Martin Pound of Monticello; five grandchildren and other friends and relatives.
