COMMERCE - Roy Arnold Reynolds died Tuesday, August 22, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Reynolds was born January 14, 1943, in Fulton County. He was a son of the late Roy A. Reynolds Sr. and the late Vivian Jeanette Stephens Reynolds.
Mr. Reynolds was retired from the United States Postal Service, where he was a building equipment mechanic. He attended Grove Level Baptist Church, Maysville.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 24, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Chris Pritchett officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce. Greg Scott, Bob Morrow, Ralph Eten, Billy Compton, Larry White and Kevin White served as pallbearers.
Mr. Reynolds is survived by his wife, Eleanor Octavia DeLong Reynolds; three daughters, Melody Scott, Franklin Springs, Misty McMorrow, Commerce, and Monya Compton, Lawrenceville; one sister, Jeanette White, Tucker; and three grandchildren, Eric and Brian Scott, both of Franklin Springs, and Sarah Pippin, Commerce.

MR. WILBANKS
World War II veteran
BALDWIN - G.T. Wilbanks, 84, died Thursday, August 24, 2000, at a private nursing home following an extended illness.
Mr. Wilbanks was born November 26, 1915, in Banks County. He was a son of the late Gilliam and Samantha Payne Wilbanks. Mr. Wilbanks was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a poultry and cattle farmer. He was a member of Tates Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 25, at Tates Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Garry Garrison and Mike Robertson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Wilbanks is survived by his wife, Ruth Ayers Wilbanks; one daughter, Linda W. Harris, Demorest; three sons, Kenneth Wilbanks, Marshall Wilbanks and Franklin Wilbanks, all of Baldwin; six sisters, Vernice Wilkinson, Cornelia, Avoline Chitwood, Lavonia, and Estelle Newsome, Elsie Mae Andrews, Ruby Gailey and Christine Wilbanks, all of Baldwin; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

MR. HILL
World War II veteran
MAYSVILLE - David Calvin Hill Sr., 86, died Thursday, August 24, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mr. Hill was born July 24, 1914, in Cherokee County, a son of the late William Lewis and Mary Maggie Vaughn Hill.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a former shop superintendent. Mr. Hill was a member of Homer Baptist Church and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Bessie Sams Hill.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 26, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Gene Todd officiating. Burial was in the David C. Hill Family Cemetery, Maysville.
Survivors include four sons, David Calvin Hill Jr. and Thomas W. Hill, both of Maysville, and Don E. Hill and Orion C. Hill, both of Covington; three daughters, Jeanie Gordon, Reynolds, and Judy Redmond and Linda Scoggins, both of Maysville; one brother, Norman Jack Hill, Ellijay; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

MR. HYATT
California native
HOMER - Larrie Walter Hyatt, 51, of Homer, died Monday, August 28, 2000, at Emory University Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Hyatt was born October 14, 1948, in San Diego, Calif. He was a son of Stanley and Gail Hyatt, Homer.
Mr. Hyatt was employed with Statham Tire Co. in Snellville and was of the Baptist denomination.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 31, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Rev. Vaughn Howington Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Charity Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include one daughter, April Ann Hyatt, Colorado; one son, Stuart Stanley Hyatt, Des Moines, Iowa; and one brother, Timothy A. Hyatt, Sima Valley, Calif.
The family was to have received friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

JONESBORO - Ray Everett Gailey, 62, died Monday, August 28, 2000.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 30, in the Pope Dickson & Son Jonesboro Chapel, followed by a service at B C Grant Baptist Church, Cornelia, with the Rev. Clyde Garrison officiating. Burial was in Yonah Memorial Gardens, Cornelia.
Mr. Gailey is survived by his wife, Ruby Gailey; two sons, Rodney Gailey, Enterprise, Ala., and Ricky Gailey, Jonesboro; his mother, Eleanor Gailey, Alto; one brother, Mitchell Gailey, Baldwin; and five grandchildren.

General Motors retiree
JEFFERSON - Carl Clay Hill, 88, died Thursday, August 24, 2000.
Mr. Hill was a native of Forsyth County. He was retired from General Motors and was a member of Piedmont United Methodist Church.
Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Dean Hill, and a grandson, Charles Clay Hill.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 26, in the chapel of Tapp Funeral Home, Buford, with the Rev. Gaylon Beard officiating. Graveside services were held Sunday, August 27, in the Level Creek United Methodist Church cemetery.
Mr. Hill is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Fray Ned and Marilyn Hill, Elberton, and the Rev. Hulon and Sara Hill, Jefferson; one sister, Geneva Mae Hill, Maysville; sister-in-law, Clara Mae Hill, Suwanee; two grandchildren, Brenda Christopher and Tim Hill; and two great-grandchildren, Misty Christopher and Amber Hill.

HOMER - David Lloyd "Rooster" Jewell, 60, died Tuesday, December 5, 2000.
Mr. Jewell was the husband of Junne Wood Jewell and the son of the late J.C. and Mary R. Jewell.
He was an ordained minister and was a member of Line Baptist Church. Mr. Jewell was employed by Johnson Railway Service, Cornelia. He was preceded in death by a son, Tony R. Jewell.
Memorial services were held Friday, December 8, at Gap Hill Baptist Church, Six Mile, S.C., and Saturday, December 9, at Line Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Jewell is survived by son, Gregory D., Homer; son and daughter-in-law, Samuel T. and Tommie Ann, Eastanollee; daughter-in-law, Jeanie Jewell, Statesboro; two grandsons, Seth and Elijah Jewell; four brothers, Edward, Walhalla, Floyd, Six Mile, S.C., James Benny, Liberty, and Fred, Lunenburg, Mass.; and two sisters, Peggy Ann Craig and Geraldine Donald, Six Mile, S.C.

Retired Maysville police chief
MAYSVILLE - John Perino Boswell, 79, died Monday, December 11, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mr. Boswell was born May 20, 1921, in Banks County. He was a son of the late Charles and Zora Bryant Boswell.
Mr. Boswell was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a retired police chief of Maysville. He was a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church and a member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association.
Mr. Boswell was preceded in death by a son, Herman Boswell.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 13, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Donald Tritt and David Bowen officiating. Burial was in Sunrise Cemetery, Maysville.
Mr. Boswell is survived by his wife, Ola Mae Carroll Boswell, Maysville; four sons, John Boswell, Norman Boswell and Otis Boswell, all of Maysville, and L. Glynn Boswell, Commerce; two daughters, Martha Lewis, Maysville, and Joyce Wilson, Alto; five brothers, Bryan Boswell, Carnesville, Charles Boswell, Fairmont, George Boswell, Commerce, and Glynn Boswell and Journey R. MAYSVILLE - Lewis H. Maddox, 79, died Wednesday, December 6, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Maddox was born July 30, 1921, a son of the late Dan and Annie McDaniel Maddox.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 9, at Solid Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Swayne Carlan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Maddox is survived by his wife, Louise Maddox, Maysville; one daughter, Mary Skelton, Maysville; one brother, Clifford Maddox, Buford; one sister, Lelia Morrison, Buford; five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

MR. CAUDELL

BALDWIN - Louie J. Caudell, 80, died Tuesday, December 5, 2000, at a private nursing home following an extended illness.
Mr. Caudell was born August 17, 1920, in Banks County, a son of the late Pitner L. and Decie Coker Caudell.
He was retired from Lumite Corporation as a beamer operator, with 27 1/2 years service, and was a member of Damascus Baptist Church. Mr. Caudell was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and was a member of Grant Reeves Post #7720, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 8, in Whitfield Funeral Home's South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Revs. Roy Rogers and Gene Todd officiating. Burial was in the Damascus Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Caudell is survived by his wife, Martha Gary Caudell, Baldwin; daughter and son-in-law, Patti Y. and Scottie Chambers, Clermont; son and daughter-in-law, Stacy W. and Kathy Caudell, Phoenix, Ariz.; son, Rothell C. Caudell, Baldwin; four sisters, Christine Ivester, Cornelia, Bernice Andrews, Dewy Rose, and Doris Comer and Bonnie Goza, both of Tucker; two brothers, John Caudell, Atlanta, and Wayne Caudell, Jefferson; and two grandchildren, Joy C. Chambers, Boston, Mass., and Dana M. Chambers, Clermont.
