Services for Edward “Bud” Studstill of Miami, Fla. were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Saint Paul A.M.E. Church with interment in the Wilcox Cemetery in Jacksonville, Ga.

Studstill, 91, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003. A native of Telfair County, he was the son of the late Jackson Vereen and Carrie Bell Studstill and Arthur Studstill. He was a member of Saint Paul A.M.E. Church in Miami, Fla. and was the widower of Mattie Williams Studstill.
Survivors include his daughters, Carrie Scott of Apopka, Fla., Ruby Studstill and Sophia Studstill Coverson, both of Miami, Fla.; sons, Eddie Jackson Studstill and William Thomas Studstill, both of Apopka, Fla., and Andrew Preston Studstill of Miami, Fla.; sisters, Eudell Thomas of Belle Glade, Fla., Ida Vereen and Joyce Fletcher of Fort Myers, Fla.; brother, Johnny Vereen of Fort Myers, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Bernon Patrick Webb
Services for Bernon Patrick Webb of Mableton were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15, in the chapel at Vaughn Funeral Home with interment in Shiloh Cemetery.

Webb, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003. A native of Telfair County, he was the son of the late Lucian and Columbia Smith Webb. He was employed with Lockheed-Martin Aircraft Co. and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Mary Blanche Roland Webb.
Survivors include his sons, Charles Webb of Mableton, and Jerald Wayne Webb of Douglasville; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Archie Maurice Yawn
Services for Archie Maurice Yawn of Savannah were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 in the chapel of the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home-Hodgson Memorial Chapel with interment in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
Yawn, 89, died Wednesday, January 15, 2003, at Candler Hospital. He was born in Milan and lived in Savannah for the past 50 years. He was a veteran of both WW II and the Korean Conflict, having served in the U. S. Army. He worked for the Savannah Bonded Warehouse, Newman Electric Company, and was retired from Preferred Risk Mutual Insurance Company, after serving as an insurance agent for many years.
He was a member of the Wildwood United Methodist Church, the Men’s Club, Board of Trustees, and served as Superintendent of the Sunday School. He was a member of Acacia Lodge #452 F. & A.M.’s., was the son of the late George W. and Mary Cook Yawn, and was the widower of Leary Murray Yawn.
Survivors include his daughter, Gwen Yawn Wood of Augusta; two sons, Larry Yawn, and Dale Yawn, both of Savannah; sister, Lucy Copeland of Tifton; three grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Yawn, 71, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003. He was the son of the late Calvin Sam Yawn and Mariah Jonson Yawn. A retired heavy equipment operator, he was a member of Sharon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Claudie Yawn of Milan; children, Lowell Yawn of Milan, Anna Marie Conner of Broxton, David Yawn of Jacksonville, Calvin Yawn of Broxton; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Frances Yvonne Abbott
Services for Frances Yvonne Abbott of Milan were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Alamo Church of God with interment in the Alamo City Cemetery.

Abbott, 53, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003. A native of Ft. Valley, Ga. and a homemaker, she had lived most of her life in Telfair County and was the daughter of the late Elzie David and Bertha Viera Singletary.
Survivors include her husband, Robert J. Abbott of Milan; son, Charles E. Thompson, Jr., of Milan; daughters, Rhonda Mathis and Regina Abbott, both of Alamo and Rena Abbott of McRae; brothers Bud Singletary of Byron, Johnnie Singletary of Columbia, So. Car., Jack Singletary of Bonaire, Butch Singletary of Perry, Mike Singletary of Atlanta, George Singletary of Milan, Bernie Singletary, Richard Singletary and Ben Singletary, all of Warner Robins and Paul Singletary of Lakeland, Fla. and several nieces and nephews.

Ashley, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003. A lifelong resident of Telfair County, he was the son of the late Howell and Elvie Johnson Ashley. A United States Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Scotland Baptist Church and was a retired diesel mechanic with Thompson Lumber Co. He was preceded in death by a son, Sammy Brown; daughter, Betty Stanley; brother, James H. Ashley and sister, Mary Kate Peavey.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Ashley of Scotland; son, Charles Brown of Lake City, Fla.; daughter, Deborah Johnson of Lone Oak, Texas; brothers, Eugene Ashley and Charles Ashley, both of Scotland; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Martha Jane Bozeman
Services for Martha Jane Bozeman of Oglethorpe, Ga., formerly of Eastman, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, in Southerland Funeral Chapel with interment in Sweet Home Cemetery.

Bozeman, 92, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, in Flint River Hospital in Montezuma. She was a native of Marion County, Ala., and had lived in Georgia most of her life. A homemaker and member of Eastman Church of Christ, she was the widow of Jeff Bozeman.
Survivors include daughters, Maxine Posey of Oglethorpe, Louise Graham of Milan and Annie Mae Toms of Americus; sons, William Bozeman of Ellaville and Thomas Bozeman of Eastman; sister, Ruth Covington of Eastman; 66 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Lee Hulett Cliett Cravey
Services for Mary Lee Hulett Cliett Cravey of Jacksonville, Ga. were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with interment in Douglas Gospel Assembly Cemetery, Broxton.
Cravey, 63, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003. A lifelong resident of Telfair County, she was the daughter of the late Levy and Lizzie Durden Hulett and former wife of the late Junior Cliett. She was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ and had been a Certified Nursing Assistant with ABC Home Health.
Survivors include her husband, Richard R. Cravey of Jacksonville, Ga.; children, Carolyn Vaughn of Douglas, Judy L. Pridgen of Broxton, Bonnie Dixon of Statesboro, Katie Spires of Jacksonville, Ga., Cathie Blackburn of Swainsboro, Pee Wee Cliett and Tonya Vaughn, both of Jacksonville, Ga.; sisters, Mabel Hulett of Rhine, Bernice Evans of Macon, and Tommie Moore of Bonaire; 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Furney, 85, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003. A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Belle McCranie Burke.
A member of Rockwell Baptist church, Furney was a retired clothing inspector and trimmer with Roydon Wear, Inc. She was the widow of Arthur Furney.
Survivors include sons, Arthur Thomas Furney of Jacksonville and Jacob M. Furney of Milan; brother, Robert G. “Mann” Burke of Ridgecrest, Calif.; sister, Ruby Dilleshaw of Ridgecrest, Calif.; step-grandson, Jason Spivey of Milan and great-grandchildren, Nikki and Hunter Spivey, both of Milan.

A long time resident of Brunswick and a homemaker, she was the daughter of the late Horace G. White and Gladys Harvey White. Fussell was the widow of Harry C. Fussell.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra F. Farmer of Grovetown; granddaughter Carrie Farmer of Grovetown and sisters, Margaret V. White and Betty White Vision, both of Brunswick.

Smith, 76, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his children, Shirley Strange of Bloomingdale, Ga., Elaine McVey of McRae, Paulett Bennett of Alamo, Harris Brown and Walter Brown, both of McRae, Kenny Brown of Eagle Lake, Fla., and Paul Brown of Milan; sister, Dorothy Toberson of McRae; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
