Graveside services for Elizza Pearl Lewis of McDonough were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Bay Springs Freewill Baptist Church cemetery in Plainfield.

Lewis, the infant daughter of Tina Sweat Lewis and Todd Lewis of McDonough, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003 at Southern Regional Hospital in Jonesboro.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Emily Camille Lewis; grandparents, Ernest Sweat, Mabel Hargove Sweat, Gail Faircloth Gully and Richard Gully; great-grandparents, Odelle Faircloth, the Rev. Howard Faircloth, Hazel Wagner and Bud Wagner; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.

Ola B. Little
Services for Ola Brown Little of Rhine were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Hopewell Baptist Church with interment in Hopewell Cemetery.

Little, 85, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003 in Dodge County Hospital. A native of Telfair County, she was the daughter of the late William Brown and Sophronia Fitzgerald Brown and the widow of Jim D. (Bud) Little. She was preceded in death by two sons, James David Little and Eddie Little Sr. She was a homemaker and member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Willene Cannington and Carson Cannington of Eastman and Brenda Rape and Bennie Rape of Rhine; daughters-in-law, Shirley Hulett and Loretta Little; a brother-in-law; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Randolph Love Sr.
Services for Randolph Love Sr. will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, in the House of Prayer by Faith, Love Temple #2 in Adel.

Love, 72, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003. He was the son of the late William and Susie Irene Love of Douglas. He was preceded in death by two sons, Randolph Love Jr. and Alvin Love and three brothers, J.W. (Cartrel), George and Levi Love.
Survivors include his wife, Estella Love; sons, Willie “Ross” Love of Laneview, Vir., and Nathaniel Love of Columbus, Ohio; daughters, Janice Stephens of Kileen, Texas, Glenda Enurah of Marietta, Imogene Fletcher of Valdosta, Lillian Grier of Moultrie, and Diane Robinson of Adel; brothers, Clinton Love, Cleo Love, and Samuel Love; sister, Lovie Irene Hunter; 27 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Dalton Powell
Services for Dalton Powell of Lumber City were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, in the Lumber City Baptist Church with interment in Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City.

Powell, 81, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, in the Medical Center of Central Georgia.
A native and life long resident of Telfair County, Powell was the son of the late Clinton Clay Powell and Carrie Bell Tippett Powell and was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Dalton Powell. Co-owner of Powell’s Garage for 30 years, Powell helped establish the Lumber City Lions Club. A member and deacon of the Lumber City Baptist Church since 1974, he was a volunteer fireman for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Pat) Powell of Lumber City; daughters, Jan Boatwright of Blackshear and Vickie Smith of Augusta; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Joseph Woodrow Thompson
Services for Joseph Woodrow Thompson of Eastman were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, at Liberty Baptist Church with interment in Cottondale Cemetery.

Thompson, 67, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002. A native of Laurens County, he had lived in Dodge County for the past 60 years. He was the son the late Monroe Thompson and Frederica Tripp Thompson and preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Thompson. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, and an employee of the Dodge County Road Department.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Fordham Thompson of Eastman; daughters, Brandi Thompson of Macon and Jodie Willoughby of Rhine; sisters, Lois Sawyer, Gladys Graham, Jewel Yearty, Pauline Mobley, Evelyn Zumwalt and Grace Holland; brother, James Thompson; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Sandra Reaves Wilkes

Wilkes, 62, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003. A native of Dodge County, she was the daughter of the late Fred C. and Ophelia Kirkus Reaves. A member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge #688 in McRae, Wilkes was a homemaker; a member of the McRae First Baptist Church, the American Red Cross Pink Ladies and Woodmen youth program volunteer.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Wilkes of McRae; son, John Wilkes of Douglas; daughters, Julie Joiner and Suzy Dean, both of McRae; brothers, Keith Reaves of Brunswick and Paul Reaves of Milan and six grandchildren.

Ruby Ward Sweat

Sweat, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002. Born in Telfair County, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Annie Mae McDuffie Ward. A member of Blockhouse Baptist Church, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include daughters, Betty White of Warner Robins and Dorothy Wimberly of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; sister, Jessie Powell of Rhine; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Taylor, 72, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002. A native of Telfair County, he moved to Florida in 1964. He was a member and pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs, Fla. for 20 years. He had been a minister since 1957
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Shirley Taylor; son, Steve Taylor of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; daughters, Linda Hester and Brenda Lowe of Gray and Tina Landry of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; brothers, James Taylor of Fernandina Beach, Fla. and Warren Taylor of Warner Robins; sisters, Myrtice Yawn of Callahan, Fla. and Blanche Deen of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Lillie Orean Weldon
Services for Lillie Orean Weldon, of Hazlehurst, were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at St. James CME Church of Lumber City with interment in Philadelphia Cemetery in Hazlehurst.

Weldon, 72, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, in Emory Hospital in Atlanta. She was the daughter of the late Johnnie B. Jack and the late Rosie Mae Jack and widow of James Weldon.
Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy Grady Sumlin and Lillie Grady of Atlanta, Shirley Grady Harris, Hazel Balcom , Janice Clements of Lumber City, Sara Weldon of Arkansas, Arlene Wilson of Hinesville and Beverly Dalmida of Florida; sons, John Grady, Larry Grady, and Sammy Grady, all of Hazlehurst, and Ecclesiastes Grady of Savannah; sisters, brothers, and other relatives and friends.

Henry L. Anderson
Services for Henry L. Anderson of McRae were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in the McRae First United Methodist Church with interment in Telfair Memorial Gardens.
The Rev. David Blalock and the Rev. Steve Waldorf officiated.
Anderson died Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at his home in McRae. He was the son of the late Henry S. and Ruth Anderson of Warner Robins. He was a member of the first graduating class of Warner Robins High School, a U.S. Navy veteran, and was a former administrator of the Telfair County Hospital, retiring from this position in 1984. He was an active member of the McRae Lions Club for 30 years and a member of McRae First United Methodist Church. Anderson’s eyes were donated to the Georgia Eye Bank, which is affiliated with Lions Clubs International.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Bette Austin.
Survivors include his wife, Jette S. Anderson of McRae; daughters, Gail Mitchell of Dallas, Texas, Cheryl Galway of Atlanta, Dr. Marsha Anderson of Houston, Texas and Heather Anderson of Statesboro; son, Dr. Allen S. Anderson of Chicago, Ill; sisters, Nell Massengill and Juanita Zweiban of Warner Robins; one grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
