FARMINGTON - Mrs. Ola H. Stewart, 74, died Wednesday, February 16, 2000.
A native of Banks County, Mrs. Stewart was a daughter of the late M.J. and Lizzie Daniels House.
She had lived in the Farmington area for most of her life and was a seamstress and homemaker and was of the Baptist denomination. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Stewart Sr., and a son, Douglas Stewart.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 19, at Farmington Methodist Church with the Rev. Chris Yancey officiating. Burial was in Farmington Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Stewart, Farmington, and Gail Martin, Bethlehem; four sons, Frank Stewart Jr., Winder, Larry Stewart, Clarkesville, Danny Stewart, Bogart, and Dennis Stewart, Farmington; two brothers, Gene House, Nicholson, and George House, Lakeland, Fla.; one sister, Barbara Fullerton, Hull; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

MRS. FINCH

FLOWERY BRANCH - Mrs. Cecil Frances Davis Finch, 80, formerly of Jefferson, died Monday, February 21, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Finch was born March 9, 1919, in Jackson County. She was a daughter of the late William G. and Ruby Wilkes Ray.
Mrs. Finch was a retired lunchroom manager with South Jackson Elementary School, with 22 years of service, and was a member of Lebanon Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 24, at Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rusty Inman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Finch's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors include three sons, John Wills, Athens, Phil Davis, Jefferson, and Stan Davis, Cumming; four daughters, Jonell Gee, Commerce, Fay Steinberg, Watkinsville, Marsha Stroud, Buford, and Molly Brannon, Gainesville; three step-sons, Lewis Davis and Joel Davis, both of Jefferson, and Norris Davis, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two step-daughters, Marion Porter, Jefferson, and Linda Turner, Athens; 28 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family was to have received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson.

MRS. PHILLIPS
Sister of countians
ROYSTON - Mrs. Annie Ree Hart Phillips, died Wednesday, February 16, 2000.
A native of Hart County, Mrs. Phillips was born October 4, 1928. She was a daughter of the late Jack and Katie Belle Haley Hart.
She was a homemaker and a member of Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a member of the adult Sunday School class. Mrs. Phillips also served as church secretary for years.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 18, at Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. Gary Osteen, John Ingham and Bert Synan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bob Boswell, Alfred Kellum, Wayne Moon, Travis Allen, James Fowler and Russell Phillips served as pallbearers.
Survivors include her husband, Donald H. Phillips; six daughters, Emily Thomas, Brenda Bryant and Angie Pearson, all of Royston, Janet Williams, Danielsville, Peggy Thompson, Athens, and Donna Martin, Toccoa; one son, Dennis L. Phillips, Royston; five sisters, Mamie Lee Beard and Georgie Gibby, both of Royston, Bobbie Sue Boleman, Danielsville, Sara Nell Voyles, Carnesville, and Judy Pace, Nicholson; five brothers, James Hart, Commerce, Jerry Hart, Danielsville, Perry Hart, Canon, Barney Hart, Hartwell, and Jackie Hart, Comer; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

MR. PRICE
Vietnam veteran
JEFFERSON - Sanford Price, 50, died Sunday, February 20, 2000, at Northside Hospital, Fulton County, following a sudden illness.
Mr. Price was born March 7, 1949, in Franklin County. He was a son of Dewitt Ladelle Price, Lavonia, and the late Bernice Skelton Price.
Mr. Price was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Navy, and was employed as an electronic technician.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 24, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Rosehill Cemetery, Royston. John Ruda, Byron Smith, John Kytle, Wayne Dodd, Rich Whitehouse, Reed Price, Gene Martin and Charles Nash will serve as pallbearers.
In addition to his father, Mr. Price is survived by his wife, Deborah Bridges Price.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Jackson County Humane Society or to the American Heart Association.
The family was to have received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

MR. SOSEBEE
Electrician
TALMO - George Clifford Sosebee Sr., 69, died Sunday, February 20, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following a sudden illness.
Mr. Sosebee had lived in Talmo for a number of years. He was an electrician and a member of Pond Fork Baptist Church.
Mr. Sosebee was preceded in death by a son, George Clifford Sosebee Jr., and a great-grandson, Dalton Crane.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 23, at Pond Fork Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Buffington and Johnny Knight officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes McAlister Sosebee; one daughter, Ruby Huss, Commerce; one brother, William A. Sosebee Jr., Flowery Branch; one sister, Ruby Gaddis, Gainesville; four granddaughters, Teresa Pruitt and Lisa Crane, both of Commerce, and Christina Laduke and Jenny Huss, both of Michigan; one grandson, David Huss, Commerce; five great-granddaughters, Kimberly and Haleigh Pruitt and Ashley and Alexis Crane, all of Commerce, and Sarah Laduke, Michigan; and two great-grandsons, Trevor and Andrew Laduke, both of Michigan.

JEFFERSON - James Hubert Fowler, 62, died Monday, February 21, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Mr. Fowler was born April 16, 1937, in Jackson County. He was a son of the late James William and Essie Mae Fields Fowler.
Mr. Fowler served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 and retired as a heavy equipment operator with the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was of the Holiness denomination.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 23, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Palmer Pace officiating. Burial was in Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Peterson Fowler; three sons, Jamey Fowler, Michael Fowler and Tim Fowler, all of Jefferson; one daughter, Linda Fowler, Jefferson; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

MRS. CROCKER
Homemaker
COMMERCE - Mrs. Clara Mae Saville Crocker, 89, died Wednesday, February 23, 2000, at her residence.
Mrs. Crocker was born November 17, 1910, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Will and Etta Rose Wilson Saville.
Mrs. Crocker was a homemaker and a member of Madison Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoke Crocker, and two daughters, Elizabeth Owensby and Betty Faye Poole.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 25, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. David Harbin and Mrs. Crocker's great-grandson, Clay Owensby, officiating. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors include two daughters, Freida Campbell, Lula, and Jean Crocker, Commerce; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

HOSCHTON - Mrs. Bonnie Cheek Bentley, 75, of the Duncan Creek Community, died Saturday, February 19, 2000.
Mrs. Bentley was a native of Gwinnett County. She began her working career at Genesco Shoe Factory, Lawrenceville, later working with Fawn Togs, Braselton, and Lovable Company, Buford. Mrs. Bentley was presently employed with Moreno Sewing Factory, Lawrenceville. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Hoschton.
Family members say that Mrs. Bentley loved music and played the piano.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 22, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Revs. Sammy Everett and Billy Crocker officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Haywood Jones Bentley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Cecil Cooper, Hoschton, and Dot and the Rev. Cedric Banks, Snellville; four step-children, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

MR. TANNER

DECATUR - James E. Tanner Sr., 71, formerly of Winder, died Monday, February 21, 2000.
Mr. Tanner was born in Barnesville, a son of the late James Claude and Ada Bell Hightower Tanner.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a retired accountant with Emory University. Mr. Tanner was of the Episcopal denomination.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nan Davidson Tanner, and a sister, Claudia Hamilton.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 24, in Rose Hill Cemetery, Winder, with the Rev. John Richardson officiating.
Survivors include one daughter, June Louise Kochert, New Albany, Ind.; two sons, James E. Tanner Jr. and Joseph Eugene Tanner, both of New Albany, Ind.; two step-daughters, Jo Anne Kaiser, Tucker, and Katie Grove, Lawrenceville; one sister, Barbara Graham, Winder; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Aleen S. Jackson
Mrs. Aleen Smith Jackson, 71, of Comer, died Saturday, February 19, 2000.
Mrs. Jackson was a daughter of the late Jack and Abalena Slay Smith.
She had made her home in the Madison County area all of her life and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 21, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, with the Rev. Gordon Rhoden officiating. Burial was in Glade Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Chambers, Athens, and Dianne Satterfield, Comer; one son, Michael Jackson, Carlton; three sisters, Eloise Almond and Dorine Franklin, both of Comer, and Alma Anderson, Port Wentworth; two brothers, Dink Smith and Bud Smith, both of Elberton; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
