Stewart S. Martin
Stewart S. Martin, 64, of Danielsville, died Wednesday, February 16, 2000.
Mr. Martin was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County. He was a son of Margaret Floyd Martin Lord, Danielsville, and the late Tyrus Martin.
Mr. Martin was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, with two years in Germany. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean Martin.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 19, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Revs. Clarence Martin and Martin T. Coile officiating. Burial was in Danielsville Memorial Gardens. Dickie Peppers and Leonard Helton served as honorary pallbearers.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include two daughters, Sheri Norton, Dewey Rose, and Angie Hathcock, Statham; two brothers, Kenneth Martin, Atlanta, and Harold Martin, Farmington, N.M.; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

James N. Holloway
James N. "Jim" Holloway, 74, of Gastonia, N.C., died Tuesday, February 15, 2000, in Gastonia, N.C.
Mr. Holloway was born in Madison County, a son of the late S.T. and Janie Bratcher Holloway.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of Lowell United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 17, at Lowell United Methodist Church with the Revs. Alice Day and Ken Cobb officiating. Burial was in Gaston Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Gardner Holloway, Gastonia, N.C.; four daughters, Sandra Reynolds, Bessemer City, N.C., Karen Watford and Terri Holloway, both of Gastonia, N.C., and Tracy Cobb, Ranlo, N.C.; three brothers, Dupree Holloway, Greenwood, S.C., and Broden Holloway and S.T. Holloway Jr., both of Danielsville; two sisters, Seppy Zell Miller, Danielsville, and Alice Neal, Lowell, N.C.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Robert Sailors
Robert "Bob" Sailors, 89, of Commerce, died Thursday, February 17, 2000, at BJC Nursing Home, Commerce.
Mr. Sailors was born March 16, 1910, in Jackson County. He was a son of the late Lon and Delia Dunson Sailors.
Mr. Sailors was a retired insurance salesman and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Commerce. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Hood Sailors.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 19, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Warren Huddleston and J.L. Griffith officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce.
Mr. Sailors is survived by a son, George Sailors, Commerce; and a brother-in-law, W.C. Hood, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

Rama M. Garrison
Mrs. Rama McCay Garrison, 90, died Wednesday, February 16, 2000.
Mrs. Garrison was born in Madison County, a daughter of the late Edward Lee and Nettie Burroughs McCay.
A 1925 graduate of Commerce High School, she received her associate's degree from Georgia State Teacher's College in 1927. Mrs. Garrison also received her bachelor of science and master's degree in education from the University of Georgia.
She began her teaching career at Sonoma School in 1927 at the age of 18. For the following 47 years, Mrs. Garrison served as a teacher, principal and supervisor in the Greenville County Schools, retiring in 1974 as district elementary curriculum supervisor.
She was a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the South Carolina Education Association and Delta Kappa Gamma. Mrs. Garrison was also a member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church and the Aldersgate Sunday School class.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward McCay, and a sister, Effie Mae McCay Prager.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 19, at The Mackey Mortuary, Greenville, S.C., with the Rev. Susan Leonard-Ray officiating. Burial was in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her husband, William Edmund Garrison; one sister, Bonnie Ruth Black, Fairburn; two brothers, Dr. Myron S. McCay Sr., Soddy, Tenn., and Ralph L. McCay Sr., Ila; five nieces and five nephews.

Phillip Hansford Jr.
Phillip Hansford Jr., 46, of Jefferson, died Sunday, February 20, 2000.
Mr. Hansford was born in Clarke County, a son of the late Phillip and Dorothy Sorrow Hansford.
He was of the Baptist denomination.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, February 23, in the Friendship Baptist Church cemetery with Wesley Edwards officiating.
Mr. Hansford is survived by two sisters, Vicky Moore, Walhalla, S.C., and Sandra Gail Plunkett, Buford; and one brother, Bobby Hansford, Jefferson.

Ola H. Stewart
Mrs. Ola H. Stewart, 74, of Farmington, died Wednesday, February 16, 2000.
A native of Banks County, Mrs. Stewart was a daughter of the late M.J. and Lizzie Daniels House.
She had lived in the Farmington area for most of her life and was a seamstress and homemaker and was of the Baptist denomination. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Stewart Sr., and a son, Douglas Stewart.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 19, at Farmington Methodist Church with the Rev. Chris Yancey officiating. Burial was in Farmington Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Stewart, Farmington, and Gail Martin, Bethlehem; four sons, Frank Stewart Jr., Winder, Larry Stewart, Clarkesville, Danny Stewart, Bogart, and Dennis Stewart, Farmington; two brothers, Gene House, Nicholson, and George House, Lakeland, Fla.; one sister, Barbara Fullerton, Hull; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Isaac Beasley Jr.
Isaac Beasley Jr., 53, of Danielsville, died Sunday, February 13, 2000.
A native of Clarke County, Mr. Beasley was a son of Ruth Hancock Beasley, Danielsville, and the late Isaac Beasley Sr.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Vietnam War and in Guam. Mr. Beasley was a member of Tabor's Chapel CME Church, Danielsville.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 19, at Tabor's Chapel CME Church with the Revs. Morris L. Colving Sr. and Franklin Winters officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Janie Carithers Beasley, Comer.

Earl L. Harrison
Earl L. Harrison, 69, of Crystal River, Fla., died Thursday, February 10, 2000.
A native of Dayton, Ohio, Mr. Harrison was a son of the late Thomas and Minnie Hurst Harrison.
He was retired from Reliance Electric, Athens.
Funeral services were held at the First Christian Church of Chassahowitzka.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Booth Andrews Harrison; three daughters, Cathy Pennington, Dayton, Ohio, Polly McDaniel, Asheville, N.C., and Julie Saunders, Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, Earl Thomas "Tommy" Harrison, Homosassa, Fla., and Eric L. Harrison, Danielsville; one step-daughter, Barbie Fortson; three step-sons, Scott Andrews, Todd Andrews and Tony Andrews, all of Danielsville; one sister, Thelma Kidwell, Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Thomas "Junior" Harrison, Centerville, Ohio; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Hilda H. Colley
Mrs. Hilda Huff Colley, 68, of Farmington, died Wednesday, February 16, 2000, at her residence.
Mrs. Colley was a native and lifelong resident of Oconee County. She was a daughter of the late Lee H. and Ruth Christian Huff, Farmington.
Mrs. Colley and her husband, Charlie Colley, owned and operated C.T. Colley Upholstery Shop for over 25 years. She had also worked for Morgan Sportswear, Madison, and for the Board of Education of Oconee County at a bus driver. Mrs. Colley was a member of Freeman Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Huff.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 18, in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home, Athens, with the Revs. Hoyt Johnson and Mike Mins officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Mrs. Colley's nephews served as pallbearers.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Keith Savage, Farmington; three sisters, Alice Pritchett, Farmington, Louvie Ruark, Bostwick, and Glenda Gabriel, Winterville; four brothers, Edd Huff, Gene Huff and Joe Huff, all of Farmington, and Vick Huff, Hull; two grandchildren, Eric Savage and C.J. Savage, both of Farmington; a nephew, Ronnie Giles, Jacksonville, Fla.; and a number of nieces and other nephews.

Annie R. Phillips
Mrs. Annie Ree Hart Phillips, of Royston, died Wednesday, February 16, 2000.
A native of Hart County, Mrs. Phillips was a daughter of the late Jack and Katie Belle Haley Hart.
She was a homemaker and a member of Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a member of the adult Sunday School class. Mrs. Phillips also served as church secretary for years.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 18, at Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. Gary Osteen, John Ingham and Bert Synan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bob Boswell, Alfred Kellum, Wayne Moon, Travis Allen, James Fowler and Russell Phillips served as pallbearers.
Survivors include her husband, Donald H. Phillips; six daughters, Emily Thomas, Brenda Bryant and Angie Pearson, all of Royston, Janet Williams, Danielsville, Peggy Thompson, Athens, and Donna Martin, Toccoa; one son, Dennis L. Phillips, Royston; five sisters, Mamie Lee Beard and Georgie Gibby, both of Royston, Bobbie Sue Boleman, Danielsville, Sara Nell Voyles, Carnesville, and Judy Pace, Nicholson; five brothers, James Hart, Commerce, Jerry Hart, Danielsville, Perry Hart, Canon, Barney Hart, Hartwell, and Jackie Hart, Comer; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
