Mother of four
WINDER - Mrs. Ina Gladys Austin Ivie, 90, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Barrow Medical Center.
Mrs. Ivie was born February 14, 1910, a daughter of the late Joe C. and America A. Austin.
She was a former employee of Carwood Manufacturing and had worked as a door-greeter with Wal-Mart. Mrs. Ivie was preceded in death by her husband, DeWitt W. Ivie.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 12, in Smith Memory Chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, with the Revs. Kenneth Deaton and Hal Tapp and John Mobley officiating. Burial was in the Chapel Christian Church cemetery.
Survivors include son, Ronald D. Ivie, Atlanta; a special son, Michael G. Chapman, Atlanta; daughters, Joan Pruett Moon, Winder, and Kay Ivie, Decatur; one brother, William Jack Austin, Winder; one sister, Frances Crow, Winder; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

MISS KIPLING
New Jersey native
GAINESVILLE - Miss Diane Kipling, 48, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.
Born in Patterson, N.J., Miss Kipling had lived in Gainesville for the past 25 years. She had also worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Gainesville and in Norcross for 25 years.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 13, in the chapel of Little-Davenport Funeral Home, Gainesville.
Miss Kipling is survived by her mother, Jenny Carson, Gainesville; and three sisters, Linda Backer, Maysville, Robin Michaels, Chestnut Mountain, and Kimberly Pratt, New Bedford, Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

MRS. BELL
Homemaker
COMMERCE - Mrs. Clemmie A. Bell, 91, died Thursday, September 28, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native of Banks County, Mrs. Bell was born April 7, 1909, a daughter of the late Thomas Jackson and Sara Jane Andrews.
She was a homemaker and a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 30, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Bill Stacey, Vaughn Howington and Jerry Stowe officiating. Burial was in the Indian Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include her sons, C.D. and James Bell, both of Commerce; daughters, Brenda Segars and Louise Pruitt, both of Commerce, Grace Busha, Carnesville, Agnes Bennett, Ila, and Gladys Catalano, Homer; sister, Matilda Willis, Athens; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

MR. PRITCHETT
Retired body and fenderman
BALDWIN - James Harold Pritchett, 62, died Monday, October 2, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following a brief illness.
Mr. Pritchett was born October 30, 1937, in Jackson County. He was a son of the late Clarence Pritchett and Alma Scales Pritchett.
Mr. Pritchett was a retired self-employed body and fenderman. He was of the Baptist denomination.
Mr. Pritchett was preceded in death by his step-mother, Daisy Pritchett, two brothers, Walter Pritchett and Jack Pritchett, two sisters, Cleo Pruitt and Mary Lee Boyd, and dear friends, Michael Norton, Marty Reems, Wayne Franklin, Quenton Arrowood and Barney Galloway.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 4, at Homer United Methodist Church with the Rev. James McLendon officiating. Burial was in Banks Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include two brothers, Swayne Pritchett, Anderson, S.C., and Nolan Pritchett, Maysville; one sister, Gayle Pritchett, Commerce; niece and husband, Norma Leigh and Michael Collins, Baldwin; niece, Barbara Hudgins, Flowery Branch; nephew and wife, Mitchell and Ellen Boyd, Baldwin; great-nieces, Jessica Collins and Heather Boyd, both of Baldwin; great-nephew, Chris Boyd, Loganville; and great-great-nieces, Savannah Boyd, Kelsie Boyd, McKinnley Ellis and Grayson Boyd, all of Baldwin.

MR. PARSON
U.S. Navy veteran
LULA - Guy Parson, 76, died Friday, September 29, 2000, at the V.A. Hospital in Atlanta following an extended illness.
Mr. Parson was born July 23, 1924, in Anderson, S.C. He was a son of the late Paul and Mary Helen Mann Parson.
Mr. Parson was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II, and was a retired body and fenderman. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion Post in Banks County and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #17 of Gainesville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 1, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with the Revs. Ralph O. Smith and James Duncan officiating. Burial was in the Hickory Flat United Methodist Church cemetery, with full military honors at graveside conducted by the Rabun County Disabled American Veterans Chapter #15.
Mr. Parson is survived by his wife, Magdalene Morris Parson; two sons, Dexter and Danny Parson, both of Lula; and five grandchildren.

MRS. LEWALLEN

CORNELIA - Mrs. Rosa Lewallen, 101, died Wednesday, September 27, 2000, at Habersham County Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Lewallen was born May 21, 1899, in North Carolina, a daughter of the late Sam and Delia Mason Parker.
She was a homemaker and a member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church. Mrs. Lewallen was twice married, first to the late Will Simmemon, and second to the late Corbin Lewallen. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ernest Simmemon and Lamar Simmemon, and two step-sons, Owen Simmemon and Ray Simmemon.
Funeral services were held Thursday, September 28, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Revs. Luther Williams and Danny O'Kelly officiating. Burial was in the B.C. Grant Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Lewallen is survived by a son, B.R. Simmemon, Demorest; 11 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

LULA - James H. Posey, 72, died Saturday, September 30, 2000, at a private nursing facility following an extended illness.
Born in Banks County, Mr. Posey was a son of the late Lionel and Myrtle Griffin Posey.
He was a self-employed contractor and was of the Holiness faith.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 2, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Rev. Bobby Griffin officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Fire Baptized Holiness Church cemetery.
Mr. Posey is survived by two half-sisters, Gwen Posey, Cleveland, and Renee Wade, Gillsville.

POWDER SPRINGS - Mrs. Mae Belle Sosebee Farmer, 82, formerly of Clarkesville, died Saturday, September 30, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Farmer was born April 17, 1918, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Thomas and Beulah Brown Sosebee.
Mrs. Farmer was a homemaker and of the Baptist denomination. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alonzo Farmer.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 2, at Amy's Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Hewatt officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Henderson, Roswell, and Patsy Curtin, Powder Springs; one son, Robert Farmer, Cornelia; one brother, Coy Sosebee, Clarkesville; two sisters, Thelma Sosebee, Demorest, and Gertrude English, Cumming; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

MR. BENNETT
U.S. Army veteran
BRASELTON - Charlie James Bennett, 81, died Wednesday, September 20, 2000.
Born in Dallas, Ga., Mr. Bennett was a son of the late Tom and Chester Rainwater Bennett. He had resided in Braselton for 40 years.
Mr. Bennett was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was retired and was of the Methodist denomination.
Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Mae Gable Bennett.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 22, in the chapel of Wise-Connolly Funeral Home, Winder, with the Revs. Kenneth Brewer and Ricky Thrasher officiating. Burial was in the New Liberty United Methodist Church cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Damaris Skelton, Lula, and Deborah Lee and Becky Richardson, both of Braselton; one son, Phillip Bennett, Gainesville; one sister, Dot Reeves, Andrews, N.C.; one brother, Fred Bennett, Villa Rica; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

MISS BURNS
Retired school teacher
DECATUR - Miss Lillian Neal Burns, 96, died Wednesday, September 27, 2000.
A native of Jackson County, Miss Burns was a daughter of the late William Brantley and Emma Power Burns. She was the aunt of Olive Ann Burns.
Miss Burns was a graduate of G.S.W.C. at Milledgeville and the University of Georgia. She taught school in Clayton and Commerce, and retired as a first grade school teacher in Decatur after 20 years. Miss Burns was a member of national, state and local retired teachers associations and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Honor Society. She was also a member of Decatur Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 1, from graveside at Grey Hill cemetery with the Rev. John Hunt officiating.
Survivors include nephews, William H. Burns, Atlanta, and Richard F. Barrett, Snellville; and nieces, Elizabeth Skea, Rochester, N.Y., and Jean LeGrand, Conyers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Columbia Seminary in Decatur.
