LULA - Mrs. Eunice Morris Sheridan, 73, died Friday, December 8, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.
Mrs. Sheridan was born August 20, 1927, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Frank and Adell Forrester Morris.
Mrs. Sheridan retired from New Holland Mill and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Lula, where she was a member of the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos W.F. Sheridan, and a son, Willard Holloway.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 10, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with the Revs. Ralph O. Smith and James Duncan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Vickie Venable, Lula; two brothers, Coleman Morris, Gainesville, and Robert Morris, Lula; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Fred J. Payne
Fred Jenkins Payne, 86, of Homer, died Saturday, December 9, 2000, at Lanier Park Hospital, Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Mr. Payne was born August 27, 1914, a son of the late John and Byrd Hope Payne.
He was retired from Blue Bell Manufacturing Co.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 11, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Jerry Payne officiating. Burial was in Banks County Memorial Gardens. Edward Countryman, Roger Southerland, Robert Southerland, Tim Carlan, Don Harris and Bryan McCoy served as pallbearers.
Mr. Payne is survived by his wife, Eva Payne, Homer; five daughters, Mary Ann Carlan, Betty Jean Payne, Janet Payne and Guynell Southerland, all of Homer, and Carolyn Harris, Gillsville; three brothers, Guy Payne, Roy Payne and William Payne, all of Homer; one sister, Julia Williams, Homer; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

MRS. CARLYLE
Homemaker
HOSCHTON - Mrs. Willie S. Carlyle, 86, died Sunday, December 10, 2000, at Barrow Medical Center.
Mrs. Carlyle was born March 6, 1914, a daughter of the late David R. and Delphia King Stovall.
She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Carlyle was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Carlyle.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 12, in Smith Memory Chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, with the Revs. Kenneth Brewer and Tim Royster officiating. Burial was in the Chapel Christian Church cemetery.
Survivors include three sons, David K. Carlyle, Hoschton, Robert H. Carlyle, Grayson, and Jerry W. Carlyle, Pendergrass; and three grandchildren, Melissa Carlyle, Justin Carlyle and Jeremy Carlyle.

Charlie Harper
Charlie James Harper, 45, of Commerce, died Saturday, January 1, 2000, following an extended illness.
Mr. Harper was a son of Genelle Wise Harper and the late Sam Harper.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 4, at Rogers Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Scotty Randolph officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his fiancé, Kathy Arwood; brothers and sisters, Sammy Harper, Michael Harper and Carolyn Walker, all of Athens, Elmira Harper, Linda Tabor, Maryann Harper and Pam Harper, all of Commerce, Amy Nell Law, Arcade, Greg Harper, Oakwood, and Jerry Harper, Talmo; brothers-in-law, James Walker, Hubert Law Jr. and William Van Tabor; sister-in-law, Diane Harper; a cousin, Ozzie Lee Tarpkins; eight aunts, two uncles, 14 nieces, 10 nephews, five great-nieces, four great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mamie S. Beck
Mrs. Mamie Sanders Beck, 91, of Commerce, died Saturday, January 1, 2000, at BJC Nursing Home, Commerce.
Mrs. Beck was born September 15, 1908, in Commerce. She was a daughter of the late Lam Jackson and Edna Ray Sanders.
Mrs. Beck was a housewife. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. Beck Sr., a son, Ralph Beck Jr., and a daughter, Doris Beck Sailors.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 2, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Mera Head officiating. Burial was in Howington Cemetery, Nicholson.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Mamie Lou and Horace L. Williams, Commerce; son-in-law, Daniel L. Sailors, Nicholson; one brother, Hoyt Sanders, Woodstock; one sister, Ada Press Sanders, Commerce; four grandchildren, Sandra D. Sailors, Dan Scott Sailors and Sandy Beck Hines, all of Nicholson, and Jerry Lee Williams, Gainesville; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Jesse L. McGee
Jesse L. McGee, 69, of Maysville, died Friday, December 24, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens.
Mr. McGee was born December 9, 1930, in Ocilla. He was a son of the late Jesse B. and Rosa Burroughs McGee.
Mr. McGee was self-employed. He was preceded in death by a son, Odis McGee, Orlando, Fla.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 27, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Richard James officiating. Burial was in Sunrise Cemetery, Maysville.
Survivors include his wife, Mavis McGee; two sons, Jesse E. McGee, Maysville, and Johnny L. McGee, Orlando, Fla.; three daughters, Rosalind Bibby and Janice Webb, both of Maysville, and Sandra Oromero, Kenly, N.C.; three brothers, Herman McGee, Portsmouth, N.H., Leroy McGee, Plymouth, Fla., and Odis McGee, Newington, N.H.; two sisters, Judy McCook, Broxton, and Pearl Purvis, Ocilla; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Ossie L. Bryant
Mrs. Ossie Lecroy Bryant, 82, of Commerce, died Friday, December 31, 1999, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mrs. Bryant was born March 13, 1917, in Franklin County. She was a daughter of the late John and Zibiah Dalrymple Lecroy.
Mrs. Bryant was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Congregational Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Bryant.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 2, 2000, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial was in the Middle River Baptist Church cemetery, Carnesville.
Survivors include one son, Roger Bryant, Gainesville; one daughter, Brenda Brown, Commerce; two brothers, John Lecroy, Toccoa, and Tom Lecroy, Carnesville; and two granddaughters, Devon and Shelly Brown, both of Commerce.

Frank E. Adams
Commander Frank E. Adams, 84, of Tavares, Fla., died Wednesday, December 29, 1999.
A native of Commerce, Adams moved to Central Florida in 1978.
He was a naval aviator, commissioned in 1941, serving the U.S. Navy for 23 years. Commander Adams was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Adams was a graduate of Piedmont College, was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Commerce and was a member of the Quiet Birdman.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Burnette Adams; and two sons, Richard F. Adams, Atlanta, and John H. Adams, Palm Harbor, Fla.

Paul A. Miller
Paul A. Miller, 57, of Lula, brother of Jimmy Miller, Commerce, died Friday, December 31, 1999, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Mr. Miller was born June 19, 1942, in Hall County. He was a son of Christine Bell Miller, Helen, and the late David Miller.
Mr. Miller was a self-employed construction worker and was of the Baptist denomination.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 2, 2000, at Timberidge Baptist Church with the Revs. Verner London and Chris York officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to his mother and brother, include his wife, Linda Chastain Miller; daughter and son-in-law, Susan M. and Scott Carney, Lula; brothers, Ted Miller, Cleveland, and David Miller, Alto; five sisters, Laurene Chastain and Mary Cannon, both of Helen, Bonnie Sue Turner, Fayetteville, Martha Woodall, Cornelia, and Jeanie Hill, Alabama; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Shayla Carney, both of Lula.

Phillip B. Shrader
Phillip Bruce Shrader, 62, of Commerce, died Monday, January 3, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mr. Shrader was born September 30, 1937, in Tazewell County, Va. He was a son of the late Homer and Mary Virginia Wilburn Shrader.
Mr. Shrader was a painter.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 5, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Jewell Burney Shrader; two sons, Michael Hart, Brookhaven, and Phillip Bruce Shrader Jr., Lawrenceville; one daughter, Lynn Cox, Snellville; five brothers, Bill Shrader, Ohio, Daniel Shrader, Decatur, Dorn Shrader, Virginia, Jinks Shrader, Florida, and Sonny Shrader, Eatonton; one sister, Dorothy Atkins, Nitro, W.Va.; and two grandchildren.

Ruby Mae Minish
Mrs. Ruby Mae Minish, 88, of Commerce, died Tuesday, January 4, 2000, at BJC Nursing Home, Commerce.
Mrs. Minish was born February 1, 1911, in Homer. She was a daughter of the late James Rufus and Daisy Payne Green.
Mrs. Minish had been employed with Harmony Grove Mills.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Lee Minish, and a daughter, Betty Jane Dispain.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 6, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Curtis Green and Marvin Lutrell officiating. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors include four sons, Coil Lee Minish and Douglas Minish, both of Commerce, and Ronnie Minish and Rudolph Minish, both of Homer; three daughters, Frances Brown, Homer, Linda Jordan, Commerce, and Rebecca Williamson, Jefferson; 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
The family was to have received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
