Mary J. Boney
Mrs. Mary Joe Boney, 89, of Rhine, died Monday, July 24, 2000.
A native of Telfair County, Mrs. Boney was a daughter of the late Joe B. and Chessie Cobb Cravey.
She was a retired elementary school teacher from the Telfair County Schools and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Boney was preceded in death by her husband, Miles Boney.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 26, at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Steven Webb and Dena Douglas Hobbs officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Boney's grandsons, Mike Carpenter, Bill Douglas, Greg Vannier, Jeff Pierce, Jason Pierce, Judd Pierce, Rob White and Ryan White, served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Boney is survived by five daughters, Chessie B. Carpenter, Macon, Marie B. Douglas, Warner Robins, Betty Vannier and Bobbie B. White, both of Kathleen, and Jacqueline B. Pierce, Danielsville; two sisters, Nellie Bob Garrison, McRae, and Margaret Hallman, Conyers; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Hilda H. Seymour
Mrs. Hilda Hardy Seymour, 87, of Athens, died Saturday, July 29, 2000.
A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Seymour was a daughter of the late Guy S. Hardy and Nell Hardy Archer.
She was a member of Young Harris United Methodist Church, where she was very active as an MYF Counselor, served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Seymour was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Seymour, and a grandson, Thomas Madison Strickland Jr.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 30, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, Bogart. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Jean S. and Larry P. Porterfield, Watkinsville, and Patricia S. and Joe M. Whittemore, Hartwell; two sisters, Margaret H. Pierce, Duluth, and Elizabeth Archer, Jefferson; five grandchildren, Natalie Camp, Lance Strickland, Jan Maness, Joanne Frantz and Sabrina Turner; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Hospice or to Young Harris United Methodist Church.

Grady H. McCurley
Grady Harold McCurley, 68, of Athens, died Tuesday, July 25, 2000.
A native of Madison County, Mr. McCurley was a son of the late Gaines W. and Lucy B. McCurley.
He was a United States Navy veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict, and was retired from the U.S. Post Office in Athens.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 28, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Booker T. Wright, Phil Rice, Kenneth Williamson, Jerry Huff, Johnny White and Jack Brown served as pallbearers.
Mr. McCurley is survived by his wife, Harriet Garrison McCurley; two sons, Michael G. McCurley and Edward W. McCurley, both of Athens; two sisters, Pearl Wallace, Ellenwood, and Hilda Hardeman, Winterville; one brother, Retired Col. Henry H. McCurley, Augusta; and four grandchildren, Lance, Erica, Emily and Kate.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.

Mary L. Appling
Mrs. Mary L. Appling, 75, of Colbert, died Saturday, May 20, 2000.
A native of Madison County, Mrs. Appling was a daughter of the late M.C. Johnson and Daisey Sue Hall.
She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Mother Board. Mrs. Appling was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Appling Sr., and two children, Sarah Appling and Terry Appling.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 24, at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Horace Ellison officiating. Burial was in Moon Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, France Walker, Josephine Freeman and Gaybreal Bolton; three sons, Willie Appling, John Thomas Appling Jr. and Benard Appling; six sisters, Mamie Fleming, Laurie Land, Maxine McLaughlin, Margaret Elberhart, Berthre Thomas and Janice Langhorne; four brothers, Mack Johnson, Theal Johnson, Leroy Johnson and Johnnie Johnson; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Billie J. Bell
Billie Josh Bell, 79, of Bethlehem, died Friday, May 19, 2000.
Mr. Bell was a son of the late Sanford Wesley and Suddie Mae Smith Bell.
He was a self-employed cattle farmer.
Mr. Bell was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Joan Bell.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 21, at Chapel Christian Church with the Revs. Kenneth Deaton, Bob Willis and Becki Jones officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Morrow Bell; five daughters, Clara Allen, Bethlehem, Barbara Goddard, Lilburn, Donna Standridge, Hull, Janice Barckley, Riverside, Calif., and Lisa Edwards, Auburn; two sons, Charles Bell, Bethlehem, and Julian Bell, Dahlonega; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Rachel Hayes
Rachel Hayes, 78, of Warner Robins, died Saturday, May 20, 2000.
A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Hayes was a daughter of the late William A. and Martha Olbon Hayes.
She was retired from the texitle industry and was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 22, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with Preacher Frank Bearden officiating. Burial was in the Rice Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include three sisters, Elease Pollard, Charlotte, N.C., Bobbi Mason, Atlanta, and Sarah Seymour, Danielsville; and one brother, Bert Hayes, Athens, Ala.

Robert E. Moore
Robert Edward Moore, 85, of Sharon, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000.
A native of Taliaferro County, Mr. Moore was a son of the late Benjamin Henry and Sarah Elizabeth Branham Moore.
He was a retired auto mechanic and was a member of Raytown Methodist Church, Raytown. Mr. Moore was also a member of Woodmen of the World. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roma Gunn Moore.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 20, at Raytown Methodist Church with the Rev. Arthur Gunn officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Josh Royston, Edward Larry Moore Jr., Wesley Moore, Kenneth Moore, Jerry Lee Moore and Jene Ray Moore Jr. served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Johnson, 57, of Crawford, died Sunday, May 21, 2000.
A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Johnson was employed with ABB, formerly Westinghouse, and was a member of Lexington Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 23, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Larry Elliott officiating. Burial was in Athens Memory Gardens.
Survivors include her husband, Don Jose Johnson; two sons, James Wesley Johnson, Crawford, and Rodney Clay Johnson, Athens; two step-sons, Donald Bradford, Danielsville, and Johnnie Carlton, Winterville; two sisters, Patsy J. Barnes, Swansboro, N.C., and Tracy Yearwood, Athens; and one brother, Robert E. Jones, Athens.

Leonard Susko
Leonard Susko, 65, of Colbert, died Friday, May 19, 2000.
A native of Brisbin, Penn., Mr. Susko was a son of the late Andrew and Anna Bodnar Susko.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during Vietnam, and was a retired painter for General Motors. Mr. Susko was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 21, in the Jackson Family cemetery with the Rev. Ronald Cofer officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Jackson Susko; two daughters, Sheila Sloan, Colbert, and Karen Susko, Atlanta; two sons, Joseph Susko, Atlanta, and Charles Susko, Marietta; four sisters, Viginia Quick, Mary Timko, Dorothy Shelsky and Irene Matco, all of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Charles Parr
Charles "Charlie" Parr, 76, of LaGrange, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at Hospice LaGrange, LaGrange.
Mr. Parr was born January 23, 1924, in Rockdale County. He was a son of the late W.J. and Ida Carlton Parr.
Mr. Parr was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, and was a retired trooper with the Georgia State Patrol. He was a member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 25, in Shadowlawn Cemetery, LaGrange, with the Rev. Jay Knight officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Parr; two sons, Wayne Parr, Maysville, and Michael Parr, Jefferson; two step-daughters, Linda Evans, LaGrange, and Karen Langley, Lawrenceville; one step-son, Kerry Roach, Hendersonville, Tenn.; three sisters, Mary Smith and Linda Bussy, both of Stone Mountain, and Sara Haygood, Ila; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice LaGrange in memory of Mr. Parr.
The family will be at their home located at 414 Cooley Road.
