AUBURN - Mrs. Fannie Mae Wilkerson, 81, died Wednesday, May 24, 2000.
Mrs. Wilkerson was a retired cafeteria worker for the Gwinnett County School System.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 26, in Smith Memory Chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, with the Rev. Terry Hawkins officiating. Burial was in Old Duluth Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Wilkerson; one daughter, Diane Greenway, Hoschton; one sister, Roselee Hamilton, Dacula; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

C.T. Wiley Sr.
C.T. Wiley Sr., 78, of Covington, nephew of Louise Smith, Commerce, died Monday, February 7, 2000, at Rockdale Hospital, Conyers.
A native of Banks County, Mr. Wiley was a son of the late Hurbert Festus and Julia Canary Bellamy Wiley.
He had lived in Atlanta as a child and in Covington for the past 18 months. Mr. Wiley was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Merchant Marines.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 10, in the chapel of Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home with Dr. Alan Posey officiating. Burial was in Mellwood Cemetery, Stone Mountain.
Survivors, in addition to his aunt, include his wife, Evelyn S. Wiley; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ray Czentnar, Loganville; daughters, Elaine Tompkins, Covington, and Lynne Wiley, Loganville; son and daughter-in-law, Neal S. and Amy Wiley, Covington; son, Chester T. Wiley Jr., Alpharetta; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Collin Evans
Collin Evans, 17, of Statham, died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, in Oglethorpe County.
Mr. Evans was a son of Wendell and Shirley Evans, Statham.
He was a student at Oconee County High School.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 27, in Smith Memory Chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder. Burial was in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include one brother, Drew Kinsey, Maysville; grandparents, Relle Drewry, Statham, and Margie Lord, Hoschton; and great-grandmother, Minnie Ruth Kirk, Monroe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Collin Evans Memorial Fund at the Peoples Bank in Statham.

MR. HEWELL
U.S. Marine Corps veteran
MAYSVILLE - Eric Llewellyn Hewell, 40, died Tuesday, January 4, 2000, at Stephens County Hospital.
Mr. Hewell was born September 15, 1959, in Orange County, Calif. He was a son of Henry and Pat Kelty Hewell, Commerce.
Mr. Hewell was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was employed with American Wood Mark. He was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church and was an avid folk art potter.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 6, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Lisa Barber Hewell; two sons, Bradley Lamar Hewell and Travis Joel Hewell, both of Jefferson; one step-son, Brian Savage, Maysville; one brother, Kurt Hewell, Hollywood; and three sisters, Tracy Alexander, Denise Jordan and Priscilla Wofford, all of Commerce.

Farmer
HOMER - David Lee Ayers, 38, died Tuesday, January 4, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mr. Ayers was born September 16, 1961, in Lexington, N.C. He was a son of David C. and Gladys Anderson Ayers.
Mr. Ayers was a farmer and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Hayesville, N.C.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 6, in the chapel of Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Revs. Larry Barnes and Austin Kelley officiating. Burial was in the Banks County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include two sisters, Ann Trexler, Spring City, Tenn., and Cathy Martin, Homer; four brothers, John Ayers, Tim Ayers and Nat Ayers, all of Homer, and Jeff Ayers, Lula.

COMMERCE - Mrs. Lottie Belle Williams McElroy, 78, died Friday, January 7, 2000.
Mrs. McElroy was a daughter of the late Dave Berry and Lula Ann Thurmond Williams.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Rogers Baptist Church.
Mrs. McElroy had been married
three times, first to the late Buford Dorsey Hix, second to the late Walker Mitchell Clegg, and third to the late Charles A. McElroy.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Dorris Bennett Williams, Thurmond David Williams, Young Monroe Williams, Bernice Williams, Hoyt Williams and Ernest Williams, and one sister, Mattie Lee Fitzpatrick.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 9, at Rogers Baptist Church with the Rev. Carlton Petters and William Puckett officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce.
Survivors include three sons, David Hix, Jefferson, Clay F. McElroy, Commerce, and Randy L. McElroy, Ila; three daughters, Wanda Horne, Commerce, and Vickie Eubanks and Inya Russell, both of Comer; one brother, J.D. Williams, Thomasville, N.C.; one sister, Flora Nell Wilkes, Commerce; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

MAYSVILLE - Mrs. Willie Emmett Hooper, 81, died Saturday, January 8, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mrs. Hooper was born August 27, 1918, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Will Hope and Pearl Lewallen Emmett.
Mrs. Hooper was a retired seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Hooper.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 9, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Burial was in the Silver Shoals Baptist Church cemetery, Homer.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Ann Davis, Maysville, and Nadine Wardenga, Cleveland; two sisters, Mary Barnes and Doris McDonald, both of Commerce; and two grandchildren.

ALTO - Mrs. Dorinda Renee Cochran Whitfield, 30, died Sunday, January 9, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.
Mrs. Whitfield was born July 16, 1969, in Jackson County. She was a daughter of Kenneth and Joan White Cochran, Commerce.
Mrs. Whitfield was employed with Baker & Taylor Company, Commerce.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 12, at Rock Springs Baptist Church, Lula, with the Revs. Chris Webb and Tony Goss officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Barry Whitfield; one son, B.J. Whitfield, Alto; one daughter, Brittany Whitfield, Alto; two sisters, Kendra Cochran and Dianne McQuillen, both of Commerce; and grandparents, Frances White and J.L. White, both of Lula.

ALTO - Mrs. Nettie McDuffie, 66, died Saturday, January 8, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. McDuffie was born February 28, 1933, in Hall County. She was a daughter of Josie Wade, Alto, and the late Arthur Pierce.
Mrs. McDuffie worked as a nursing assistant for a number of years at Scenic View Health Care Center and was a member of Alto Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy McDuffie.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 10, at Alto Baptist Church with the Revs. Sanford Kimbrell and Michael Parker officiating. Burial was in Yonah Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ernest Ivester officiating.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include four daughters, Jane Ivie Harrison and Janice Ivie Pitts, both of Cornelia, Jean Ivie Savage, Homer, and Kathy Ivie Duncan, Alto; one son, Jimmy Ivie, Cornelia; two sisters, Betty Stewart and Allie Savage, both of Alto; one step-sister, Jewell Cook, Alto; three brothers, Benny Pierce, Alto, Marvin Pierce, Gainesville, and Tony Wade, Maysville; one step-brother, Randolph Wade, Cornelia; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

NICHOLSON - Gilbert Pace, 74, died Saturday, January 8, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Pace was born July 12, 1925, in Jackson County. He was a son of the late William Haynes and Maude Reynolds Pace.
Mr. Pace was retired from Gold Kist.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 10, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with Bradford Pace officiating. Burial was in the Antioch United Methodist Church cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Michael Pace, Nicholson; granddaughter, Michelle Funderburk, Nicholson; grandson, Bradford Pace, Nicholson; two great-grandchildren and two nieces.
