Mother Bush
Mother Gladys Johnson Bush, 85, of Colbert, died Saturday, October 7, 2000.
A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Bush was a daughter of the late Rubin and Quilla Moody Johnson.
She was retired from the University of Georgia and was a member of Waggnors Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Bush was preceded in death by her husband, Brother Howard Bush, and a son, Howard Johnson.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 10, at Waggnors Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Roy Thomas, Evangelist Otelia Smith and the Rev. Watson Thomas officiating. Burial was in Gholston Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Reba Colbert, Colbert, and Odessa Wallace, Atlanta; one son, Curtis Bush, Atlanta; two sisters, Lois Foot and Willene Colbert, both of Chicago; two brothers, James Johnson, Atlanta, and Alvin Johnson, Chicago; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Gwynell D. Ingram
Mrs. Gwynell Day Burruss Ingram, 67, of Cumming, died Friday, October 6, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Ingram was a daughter of Ruby Day, Cumming, and the late Collie Day.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Ed Burruss.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 8, at Coal Mountain Baptist Church with the Revs. Danny Bennett, Bart Youngblood and Robert Martin officiating. Burial was in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Ingram is survived by her husband, Jim Ingram; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Dr. Randy Smith, Cumming, Deborah and Jimmy Cook, Dawsonville, and Edith and Geoffrey Johnson, Atlanta; step-children and spouses, Kenneth and Deborah Ingram and Jerry Ingram, all of Cumming, Judy and Ralph Clay, Concord, and Karen and Barry Darnell, Macon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Reg Day, Randall and Barbara Day, and Charles and Mary Day, all of Cumming; grandchildren, Jeremy Smith and Russell Smith, both of Cumming, Maggie and Buck Bacon, Danielsville, Katie Wise, Wilmington, N.C., Ed Cook, Dawsonville, and Franklin Johnson, Atlanta; one great-grandchild, Chandler Bacon, Danielsville; 11 step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

James E. Gray
James Edward Gray, 83, of Winterville, died Wednesday, October 4, 2000.
A native of Madison County, Mr. Gray was a son of the late James Walter and Addie Seagraves Gray.
He established and managed Gray Brothers Laundry for a number of years and was retired from the Georgia Department of Labor. Mr. Gray was a member of Winterville First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Busbin Gray, and two daughters, Ellen Christine Gray and Delores Gray Thornton.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 6, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, with Dr. Stan Annandale officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park with Masonic Rites.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Joe C. Thornton, Winterville; two sisters, Lotrell Bell, Lilburn, and Addie Mae Segars, Snellville; one brother, Austin H. Gray, Columbia, S.C.; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

James B. Rylee
James Bennett Rylee, 82, of Commerce, died Tuesday, October 3, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens.
Mr. Rylee was born April 8, 1918, in Banks County. He was a son of the late Hillard Hoyt and Essie Ann Smith Rylee.
Mr. Rylee was retired from A&P Food Stores and was a member of New Salem United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 6, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Jerry Rylee officiating. Burial was in the New Salem United Methodist Church cemetery.
Mr. Rylee is survived by his wife, Frances Louise Swanson Rylee; one son, the Rev. Jerry Rylee, Demorest; one daughter, Debra Conner, Lilburn; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Doris S. Davis
Mrs. Doris Stephens Davis, 57, of Danielsville, died Friday, October 6, 2000.
A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late Ernest and Emilelia Archer Stephens.
She was employed with the Madison County School System and had lived in this area for over 25 years.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 8, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Billy Fowler officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Jimmy L. Davis; one son, Christopher Davis, Danielsville; and two sisters and two brothers.

Dorothy N. Whitehead
Mrs. Dorothy Nannie Whitehead, 74, of Colbert, died Saturday, October 7, 2000.
Mrs. Whitehead was born in Franklin County, a daughter of the late Sameul and Flora Mitchell Wilson.
She was retired from Kendell and was a member of Colbert Baptist Church. Mrs. Whitehead was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Eugene Whitehead.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 9, in the chapel of Brown's Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Revs. Albert Vaughn and John Alexander officiating. Burial was in the Colbert City Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Whitehead, Ila; two sons, Eugene Whitehead, Colbert, and Ronald Whitehead, Comer; two sisters, Grace Pearson, Edgefield, S.C., and Amilee Weathington, Greenwood, S.C.; three brothers, Frank Wilson, Valdosta, Jack Wilson, DeKalb, and Mack Wilson, Ila; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ruth Marie Slayton, 56, of Hull, died Sunday, October 8, 2000.
Born in Queens, N.Y., Mrs. Slayton was a daughter of Theodore Hellman and the late Ruth Engel McKinnis.
She was retired from Levelour Blinds. Mrs. Slayton was preceded in death by her husband, Nick McCall.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, October 11, in Danielsville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating.
Survivors include two daughters, Gina Marinaro Phillips, Hull, and Elizabeth Doucette, Lake Worth, Fla.; one son, Chris Marinaro, Jupiter, Fla.; three sisters, Vickie Bernard, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Diane Ward, Boone, N.C., and Vallie Overton, St. Augustine, Fla.; two brothers, Gary Hellman, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Johnny Hellman, Hickory, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

James Vernon Busbin Sr., 60, of Athens, died Wednesday, October 4, 2000.
A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Busbin was a son of James Alton Busbin and the late Mildred Carter Busbin.
He was employed with Power Brick and was a member of the Church of God Fellowship.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 7, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, with the Revs. Wayne Daniel, James Shelton and Red Hefner officiating. Burial was in Arnoldsville Cemetery. Randy Michael, Trent Tiller, John Shelton, Josh Busbin, Mark Sumner, Stacy Fleming and Shawn Busbin served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were employees of Power Brick and Power Building Supply.

Retired school teacher
CORNELIA - Miss Alda Ann Cunningham, 65, died Wednesday, March 14, 2000, at Habersham County Medical Center following a brief illness.
Miss Cunningham was born October 2, 1934, in Habersham County. She was a daughter of the late George Perry Sr. and Annie Gertrude McCrackin Cunningham.
Miss Cunningham received an educational specialist degree from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of the A.D.P Sorority and the Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Sorority.
She taught at South Habersham High and Habersham Central High Schools, retiring from the Habersham County School System with 40 years of service. Miss Cunningham was a member of Cornelia First Baptist Church, three arts clubs and the Habersham Historical Society.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Perry Cunningham Jr. and Thomas H. Cunningham Sr.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 16, at Cornelia First Baptist Church with the Revs. Marcus Martin, Richard Scoggins and Warren T. Wilkinson officiating. Burial was in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include sister-in-laws, Elizabeth H. Cunningham and Beulah Cunningham Stapleton, both of Cornelia; nephews and wives, George P. "Geep" III and Sue Ellen Cunningham, Toccoa, Thomas A. MADISON, TENN. - Henry Wiley McEver, 92, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at Tennessee Christian Medical Center.
Mr. McEver was born April 15, 1907, in Banks County. He was a son of the late Jake and Carrie Bruce McEver.
Mr. McEver was a retired pipefitter and was a member of Silver Spring Baptist Church, Mt. Juliet, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katharine Wagner McEver.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 22, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Russ Stevens, Charles Hamlin and Al Adams officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors include one son, Billy Rozerl, Madison, Tenn.; one daughter, Lucille Barrett, Madison, Tenn.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
