Willie E. Hooper
Mrs. Willie Emmett Hooper, 81, of Maysville, died Saturday, January 8, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mrs. Hooper was born August 27, 1918, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Will Hope and Pearl Lewallen Emmett.
Mrs. Hooper was a retired seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Hooper.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 9, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Burial was in the Silver Shoals Baptist Church cemetery, Homer.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Ann Davis, Maysville, and Nadine Wardenga, Cleveland; two sisters, Mary Barnes and Doris McDonald, both of Commerce; and two grandchildren.
Ivie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Gilbert Pace
Gilbert Pace, 74, of Nicholson, died Saturday, January 8, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Pace was born July 12, 1925, in Jackson County. He was a son of the late William Haynes and Maude Reynolds Pace.
Mr. Pace was retired from Gold Kist.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 10, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with Bradford Pace officiating. Burial was in the Antioch United Methodist Church cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Michael Pace, Nicholson; granddaughter, Michelle Funderburk, Nicholson; grandson, Bradford Pace, Nicholson; two great-grandchildren and two nieces.

Dorinda R. Whitfield
Mrs. Dorinda Renee Cochran Whitfield, 30, of Alto, died Sunday, January 9, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.
Mrs. Whitfield was born July 16, 1969, in Jackson County. She was a daughter of Kenneth and Joan White Cochran, Commerce.
Mrs. Whitfield was employed with Baker & Taylor, Commerce.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 12, at Rock Springs Baptist Church, Lula, with the Revs. Chris Webb and Tony Goss officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Barry Whitfield; one son, B.J. Whitfield, Alto; one daughter, Brittany Whitfield, Alto; two sisters, Kendra Cochran and Dianne McQuillen, both of Commerce; and grandparents, Frances White and J.L. White, both of Lula.

Stanley Hollis
Stanley Hollis, 44, of Pendergrass, died Sunday, January 9, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Hollis was born July 15, 1955. He was a son of the late L.J. and Annie Maude Crane Hollis.
Mr. Hollis was employed in dry wall construction and was a member of Pond Fork Baptist Church, Pendergrass.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 12, in the chapel of Jackson Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Johnny Knight officiating. Burial was on the Pond Fork Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Hollis; one daughter, Stacy Hollis, Jefferson; one step-daughter, Amy Jo Edwards, Jefferson; three sons, Shane S. Hollis, Todd Hollis and Jason Hollis, all of Pendergrass; four sisters, Irene Funderburk and Judy Owens, both of Jefferson, Betty Hamilton, Maysville, and Debbie Poole, Gainesville; four brothers, J.D. Hollis, Lexington, and Hoyt Hollis, Danny Hollis and Jimmy Hollis, all of Pendergrass; and 11 grandchildren.

Nettie McDuffie
Mrs. Nettie McDuffie, 66, of Alto, died Saturday, January 8, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. McDuffie was born February 28, 1933, in Hall County. She was a daughter of Josie Wade, Alto, and the late Arthur Pierce.
Mrs. McDuffie worked as a nursing assistant for a number of years at Scenic View Health Care Center and was a member of Alto Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy McDuffie.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 10, at Alto Baptist Church with the Revs. Sanford Kimbrell and Michael Parker officiating. Burial was in Yonah Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ernest Ivester officiating.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include four daughters, Jane Ivie Harrison and Janice Ivie Pitts, both of Cornelia, Jean Ivie Savage, Homer, and Kathy Ivie Duncan, Alto; one son, Jimmy Ivie, Cornelia; two sisters, Betty Stewart and Allie Savage, both of Alto; one step-sister, Jewell Cook, Alto; three brothers, Benny Pierce, Alto, Marvin Pierce, Gainesville, and Tony Wade, Maysville; one step-brother, Randolph Wade, Cornelia; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Elaine Crocker
Mrs. Elaine Crocker, 54, of Commerce, died Monday, January 10, 2000.
A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Crocker was a daughter of Ethel Gibson Slayton, Comer, and the late Matt Slayton.
She was employed with Baker & Taylor, Commerce, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Commerce.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 12, at the First United Methodist Church of Commerce with the Rev. Warren Huddleston officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Joe "Arkey" Crocker; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Scott Martin, Commerce; granddaughter, McClaine Martin, Commerce; and two special friends, Mary Evans and Roberta Bolton, both of Commerce.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Commerce First United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Charles B. Autry
Charles Burney Autry, 82, of Commerce, died Monday, January 10, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mr. Autry was born September 22, 1917, in Social Circle. He was a son of the late Willie B. and Lurlene Few Autry.
Mr. Autry was preceded in death by three brothers, Hoke Autry, Elmer Autry and Robert Autry.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 12, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Ann Autry; three sons, Charles Autry, Monroe, and David Keyros and Steve Keyros, both of Commerce; three daughters, Mildred Lowe and Rebecca Peters, both of Monroe, and Barbara Robinson, Winder; one sister, Frances Autry, Sparta; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Gertrude G. Jones
Mrs. Gertrude Gordon Jones, 87, of Danielsville, died Friday, May 26, 2000.
A native of Madison County, Mrs. Jones was a daughter of the late Emmett and Margie Hart Gordon.
She was a homemaker and a member of Danielsville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Brown Jones, a son, Roger Jones, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 28, at Danielsville Baptist Church with Arnold Brown and the Revs. Randy Crowe and Mike Hudman officiating. Burial was in Danielsville Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Jones' grandsons served as pallbearers.
Survivors include two daughters, Alice Turner, Hull, and Shirley Jones Spierto, Stone Mountain; three sons, Brannon O'Neal Jones and Joe Donald Jones, both of Danielsville, and Douglas Gordon Jones, Comer; one sister, Faye Gordon Hopkins, Athens; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Martha H. Doster
Mrs. Martha Healan Doster, 55, of Jefferson, died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Doster was born in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Clarence Healan and the late Evelyn Pressley Healan.
She was a seamstress and was a member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 26, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Revs. Bill Carpenter and Louis Gaddis officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce. Ricky Lee Doster, Joey Fortson, Anthony Cleveland, Jerry Thomas, Dwayne Moore, Brian Street, Henry Doster, Wayne Doster and Tim Doster served as pallbearers.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Doster; two daughters, Donna Cleveland, Danielsville, and Pam McElroy, Winterville; one sister, Jonelle Street, Gainesville; two brothers, Edward Healan, Oakwood, and Doyle Healan, Flowery Branch; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Lewis G. Gamblin
Lewis G. Gamblin, 75, of Maysville, died Friday, May 26, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.
Mr. Gamblin was born November 14, 1924, in Union County. He was a son of the late L.E. and Hattie Lunsford Gamblin.
Mr. Gamblin was a U.S. Army veteran and had worked as a mechanic. He was of the Baptist denomination.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 29, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce. Burial was in Crestlawn, Atlanta.
Survivors include one son, Eugene Gamblin, Atlanta; one daughter, Teresa Turco, Maysville; two step-sons, Larry Hill, Lithia Springs, and Jerry Noles, Peachtree City; two step-daughters, Jo Lynn Flynn, Villa Rica, and Brenda Mills, Maysville; and three grandchildren.
