MR. FOWLER
Pendergrass Baptist Church member
JEFFERSON - Harry Clay Fowler Sr., 56, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Fowler was born December 7, 1943, in Jackson County. He was a son of E.L. and Lucille Love Fowler, Winder.
Mr. Fowler was self-employed and was a retired insurance salesman. He was a member of Pendergrass Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, in the chapel of Jackson Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Roger Hardy officiating. Burial was in the Pendergrass Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Donna Tate Fowler; two sons, Harry Fowler II and James Clay Fowler, both of Jefferson; one sister, Joan Akin, Commerce; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roman Road Baptist Church, 6933 Winder Hwy., Jefferson, GA 30549.
Jackson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. FLETCHER
Homemaker
JEFFERSON - Mrs. Annie Lou Wright Fletcher, 80, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mrs. Fletcher was born July 14, 1919, in Jackson County. She was a daughter of the late Ed and Etta Lovell Wright.
Mrs. Fletcher was a homemaker and a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 12, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Dr. Gerald Mitton, the Revs. Don Blalock and Jeff Burt and David Carithers officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce. Pat Fletcher, Chris Stalker, Ray Fletcher, John Fletcher, Russ Fletcher and Zac Fletcher, grandsons of Mrs. Fletcher, served as pallbearers.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Edgar Fletcher; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Guynelle Fletcher, Jefferson, Jerry and Brenda Fletcher, Pendergrass, Larry and Cathy Fletcher, Commerce, and Charles and Cheryl Fletcher, Talmo; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gerald Stalker, Athens; one sister, Clozelle Wilkins, Jefferson; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Evans Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. EVANS
Retired school teacher
HOSCHTON - Mrs. Runette L. Evans, 88, died Sunday, April 9, 2000.
Mrs. Evans was born in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Molly Stone Langford and T.C. Langford Sr.
She was a retired elementary school teacher and was a member of Hoschton Baptist Church.
Mrs. Evans and her husband, the late Nolan Evans, had resided in Yatesville for 40 years, where he was the principal of Yatesville High School and both were active in community affairs.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 11, in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home, Winder, with the Revs. John Mark Carpenter and Ricky Thrasher officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church cemetery, Yatesville.
Survivors include one sister, Evelyn Thrasher, Flowery Branch; one brother, Bob Langford, Hoschton; a special friend, Betty Tuck, Braselton; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. GARHAM
Texas native
COMMERCE - John Meador Garham Sr., 98, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Northminster Retirement Village.
Mr. Garham was born December 28, 1901, in Coryelle County, Texas. He was a son of the late William Robert and Johnnye Peters Garham.
Mr. Garham was retired from Armour Company and was a member of Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, Atlanta. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 486 F. & A.M. for 55 years.
Mr. Garham was preceded in death by his wife, Bertie Bridgewater Garham, and a son, John M. Garham Jr.
Graveside services were held Sunday, April 9, in Arlington Cemetery, Roswell, with the Rev. Tom Leland officiating.
Survivors include two sons, Preston Don Garham and William Dan Garham, both of Cumming; one daughter, Janet Varner, Commerce; one sister, Mary Winkler, Gatesville, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. PARKS
CNA
TALMO - Mrs. Helen Parks, 55, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at Lanier Park Hospital, Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Parks was born in Hall County, where she had lived all of her life. She was a homemaker and a certified nursing assistant with Gainesville Health Care. Mrs. Parks attended Faith Tabernacle Church.
Family members say she was a loving mother and grandmother.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 4, in the chapel of Little-Davenport Funeral Home, Gainesville, with the Rev. Whitt Akers officiating. Burial was in the Zion Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Richard Parks; four children, Shannon Parks and David Parks, both of Gainesville, and Linda Long and Marie Broome, both of Jefferson; her father, Clarence W. Stephens, Gainesville; three brothers, John Stephens, Homer Stephens and Billy Stephens, all of Gainesville; seven sisters, Bobbie Kinsey, Maysville, Martha Gooch, Virginia Marlow, Jeanette Cates and Mildred Carrer, all of Braselton, Willie J. (Linda) Spriggs, Murrayville, and Dorothy Massey, Augusta; and five grandchildren.
Little-Davenport Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. GREEN
Louisiana native
COMMERCE - Paul Kevin Green, 40, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Green was born April 12, 1959, in Ouachita County, La. He was a son of the late Joseph A. and Verline Beaudion Green.
Mr. Green was employed with Fresh Frozen Foods. He was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Green.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Survivors include four sisters, Peggy Adams, Monroe, La., Rita Baugh and Renee Spiers, both of Commerce, Mimi Jo McDonald, Monroe, and Claudine Pettway, Saint Augustine, Fla.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. MORRISON
Banks County native
COMMERCE - Mrs. Bertha E. Morrison, 87, died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Morrison was born October 26, 1912, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Lunnie F. and Martha McCoy Eubanks.
Mrs. Morrison was a member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce. She was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Morrison.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Don Paulson officiating. Mrs. Morrison's son, the Rev. Charles Morrison, Commerce, and the Rev. Kent Cranford assisted. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce.
In addition to her son, Mrs. Morrison is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Stevens, Commerce, and Fannie Ruth Martin, Danielsville; two grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Athens Regional Foundation.
Little-Ward Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. BROWN
U.S. Navy veteran
COMMERCE - Henry Grady Brown, 73, died Friday, April 7, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Brown was born July 8, 1926, in Banks County. He was a son of the late Fred Q. and Minnie Lee Eubanks Brown.
Mr. Brown was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II, and was retired from the Commerce Post Office. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce, the V.F.W. and of Hudson Lodge 294.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a brother, Nelson Brown.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 9, at the First Baptist Church of Commerce with the Rev. Kent Cranford officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce. Tommy Nunn, Steve Nunn, Scott Nunn, Mike Brown, Jeff Hill and Rod Wilson served as pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers were members of the Friendly 57 Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Webb Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Dusty and Linda Brown, Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Greg Jarvis, Commerce; two brothers, Robert C. Brown and Winfred Brown, both of Commerce; one sister, Ruby Bellamy, Toccoa; one grandson, Brody Brown; and two granddaughters, Emily Rose Brown and Jenna Jackson.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Commerce.
Little-Ward Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. MARTIN
Retired machine operator
WINDER - Carl Jarrett Martin Sr., 75, died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Martin was born July 16, 1924. He was a son of the late Pilmus B. and Connie Adams Martin.
Mr. Martin was a retired machine operator. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Martin.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, in Smith Memory Chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, with Minister Tom Plank officiating. Burial was in the Chapel Christian Church cemetery. Dub McDougal, Jim Bryson, George Bleedlove, Joe Barrett, Ernest Martin and Ben Martin served as pallbearers.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Harris Martin; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Jim Gooch, Jefferson, and Cindy and Phil Chandler, Winder; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Gloria Martin, Winder; one sister, Hazel M. Glenn, Athens; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Frances Martin and Walter and Kate Martin, all of Jefferson; brother, Cecil Martin, Jonesborough, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Helen Martin, Miami, Fla.; mother-in-law, Oris Harris, Winder; and grandchildren, Kimberlie and Christopher Gooch, both of Jefferson, and Jarret Martin and Barry, Kristin and Andrew Chandler, all of Winder.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice Services, P.O. Box 6588, Athens, GA 30604.
