STATHAM - Mrs. Janice Walker Beasley, 51, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Barrow Medical Center.
Mrs. Beasley was a daughter of the late James Walker and Margret Walker.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Commerce, with the Rev. Draco Brown officiating. Burial will be in Johnstown Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Beasley; one son, Harold Green Jr., Winder; one daughter, Sabrina Adkins, Winder; two sisters, Margret A. Tillotson, East Point, and Emma Williams, Statham; five brothers, Billy Walker, Decatur, Jimmy Walker and David Walker, both of Athens, Ronnie Walker, Winder, and Troy Walker, Mili, Hawaii; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of the funeral.

Homemaker
ROYSTON - Mrs. Myrtle Hill Hilley, 90, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Comer Health Care Center, Comer.
Mrs. Hilley was born March 1, 1910, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Charlie Sheridan and Artie Shannon Sheridan.
Mrs. Hilley was a homemaker and a member of Franklin Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd Thomas Hill, her second husband, Marvin Hilley, grandchildren, Linda Hill and Jeffrey Carey, a great-grandson, Jess Carey, and a great-great-grandson, Tyler Reed.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 11, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Revs. Gary Osteen and Clint Harper officiating. Burial was in the Franklin Springs Baptist Church cemetery. Grandsons and grandchildren served as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Fred Hendrix and Martha and Donnie McKern, all of Canon, Dorothy and Boyce Fowler, Mary Donna and Oravle Carey and Brenda and Douglas Lunsford, all of Royston; daughters, Margie Horne, Athens, and Betty Bond, Royston; two sons, Floyd C. Hill, Eden, N.C., and Billy Hill, Douglasville; one brother, Tilton Sheridan, Commerce; daughter-in-law, Doris Crumbley, Nicholson; 31 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

Clestine H. Hawkes
Mrs. Clestine Hill Hawkes, 75, of Hull, died Friday, April 7, 2000.
Mrs. Hawkes was born in Madison County, a daughter of the late Jesse and Zora Stone Hopkins.
She was a homemaker and a member of Gordons Chapel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hawkes was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Hill, and her second husband, John Hawkes.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 9, at Gordons Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Passmore officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hawkes' cousins served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Hawkes is survived by one uncle, A.L. Stone Sr.; and two aunts, Darlene Barnette and Jimmie Ree Wardlaw.

Luther L. Scarborough
Luther Lamar Scarborough, 67, of Danielsville, died Friday, April 7, 2000.
A native of Madison County, Mr. Scarborough was a son of the late Samuel Grady and Martha Mayo Scarborough.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in Korea and Vietnam, and retired from the University of Georgia in 1992. Mr. Scarborough was a member of Bluestone Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John David Scarborough, Asa Candler Scarborough and Kendall Scarborough, and two sisters, Thelma Raye Riggs and Dorothy Mae Scarboro.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 9, at Bluestone Baptist Church with the Revs. David McDonald, Ray Jenkins and Lamar Scarborough officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Deacons of Bluestone Baptist Church served as pallbearers.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Tate Scarborough; three sons, Lamar Scarborough, Bonnieville, Ky., John Scarborough, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Brian Scarborough, Colbert; two brothers, Sam Scarborough, Danielsville, and Buddy Scarborough, Colbert; two sisters, Faye Harrison, Colbert, and Willie Lee Fortson, Danielsville; and seven grandchildren.

Gaynelle B. Brown
Mrs. Gaynelle Berryman Brown, 76, of Royston, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at her residence.
Mrs. Brown was born December 6, 1923, in Madison County. She was a daughter of the late T.R. and Ellen Coile Berryman.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and a member of Mill Shoal Baptist Church, Royston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Brown, and a brother, Guy Berryman.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 6, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Revs. Doug Burns and Dewitt Waters officiating. Burial was in the Mill Shoal Baptist Church cemetery. Mr. Brown's nephews served as pallbearers.
Survivors include one son, Mickey Brown, Norcross; one daughter, Judy Isom, Hartwell; three brothers, T.J. Berryman, Danielsville, and Buster and Leon Berryman, both of Royston; one sister, Frances Parham, Royston; and three grandchildren.

Loyd C. Cleveland
Loyd Curtland Cleveland, 70, of Bowersville, died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Hart County, Mr. Cleveland was a son of the late Joel Cleveland and Elvira Cantrell Cleveland.
He was retired from Newton Mills as a loom fixer, with 42 years of service, and owned and operated Cleveland Woodcrafts for 13 years. Mr. Cleveland was a member of Flat Shoals Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and former treasurer of the Men's S.S. Class. He was a member of the Men's S.S. Class and of the church choir and performed on a radio program in the 1950s on WKLY.
Mr. Cleveland was preceded in death by four brothers, Hewell, Harold, R.C. and Heyward Cleveland.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 6, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, Hartwell, with the Rev. Ted Kelley and Olin Cantrell officiating. Burial was in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Mickey Powell, David Ayers, Jon Ayers, Tommy Weldon, Josh Ayers and Kenneth Moore served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Men's S.S. Class and deacons of Flat Shoals Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Gordon Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila Cleveland and Tommy Weldon, Comer, and Pam Cleveland and Kenneth Moore, Hartwell; daughters, Nancy Cleveland, Hartwell, and Polly Cleveland, Winterville; one brother, George Cleveland, Lavonia.

Bertha E. Morrison
Mrs. Bertha E. Morrison, 87, of Commerce, died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Morrison was born October 26, 1912, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Lunnie F. and Martha McCoy Eubanks.
Mrs. Morrison was a member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce. She was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Morrison.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Don Paulson officiating. Mrs. Morrison's son, the Rev. Charles Morrison, Commerce, and the Rev. Kent Cranford assisted. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce.
In addition to her son, Mrs. Morrison is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Stevens, Commerce, and Fannie Ruth Martin, Danielsville; two grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Carl W. Hewell
Carl William Hewell, 87, of Gillsville, died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at his residence.
A native of Hall County, Mr. Hewell was a son of the late Maryland "Bud" and Ada Adams Hewell.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army, and was a fourth generation potter. Mr. Hewell had made pottery all his life until he retired in April of 1994. He was a member of Gillsville Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 6, at Gillsville Baptist Church with the Revs. Jeff Morgan and Darryl Womack officiating. Burial was in the Pine Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Sue Hewell; daughter and son-in-law, Deloris and Douglas Parks, Lula; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Helen Hewell, Gillsville; two brothers, Harold Hewell, Gillsville, and Henry Hewell, Commerce; one sister, Grace Johnson, Chattanooga, Tenn.; grandsons and wives, Darren and Beth Parks, Cornelia, and Bryan and Misty Parks, Lula; grandson, Kevin Hewell, Gillsville; granddaughter, April Hewell, Commerce; and one great-grandchild, Camryn Parks, Lula.

Texas native
COMMERCE - John Meador Graham Sr., 98, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Northminster Retirement Village.
Mr. Graham was born December 28, 1901, in Coryelle County, Texas. He was a son of the late William Robert and Johnnye Peters Graham.
Mr. Graham was retired from Armour Company and was a member of Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, Atlanta. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 486 F. & A.M. for 55 years.
Mr. Graham was preceded in death by his wife, Bertie Bridgewater Graham, and a son, John M. Graham Jr.
Graveside services were held Sunday, April 9, in Arlington Cemetery, Roswell, with the Rev. Tom Leland officiating.
Survivors include two sons, Preston Don Graham and William Dan Graham, both of Cumming; one daughter, Janet Varner, Commerce; one sister, Mary Winkler, Gatesville, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Retired businessman
Maysville - Roy Hulon Anderson, 54, died Saturday, April 15, 2000, at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, following an extended illness. He was a native of Bonifay, Fla.
Mr. Fowler was a retired businessman and a member of Harmony Lodge #3, Marianna, Fla., and a member of the board of directors for the Widowed Persons Association of Marianna, Fla.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 18, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Bill Manus and Gary Eastwood officiating. Pallbearers were Bud Gunter, Guy Baker, Jerry Baker, Steven Cash, Dwayne Barnett and Bobby McGarity.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Daniell Anderson, Maysville; daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Craig Patrick, Maysville; parents Frances Hunter, Robertsville, Ala., and Dan Alex Anderson, Gulfport, Miss.; sister Phyllis Daniel, Rockmart; brother Darrell Anderson, Buford; and grandchildren Katerina Patrick and Nicholas Roy Anderson Patrick, both of Maysville.
