PENDERGRASS - Mrs. Jessie Jeanette Patton, 73, died Tuesday, November 7, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mrs. Patton was born December 13, 1926, in Towns County. She was a daughter of the late Hoyt and Ellie Mae Cannon.
Mrs. Patton was a homemaker and a member of Pond Fork Baptist Church, Talmo. She had lived in Jackson County for most of her life.
Mrs. Patton was preceded in death by three sons, James, Junior and Wayne Patton.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 10, in the chapel of Jackson Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Johnny Knight officiating. Burial was in the Talmo Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Patton is survived by her husband, Garnett Patton; two daughters, Jean Patton and Judy Patton, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Barbara Patton, Pendergrass; one sister, Alice Chadwick, Alto; two brothers, Jimmy Cannon, Commerce, and Danny Patton, Pendergrass; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

MR. WILSON
U.S. Army veteran
CORNELIA - Alvin Eugene "Gene" Wilson, 66, died Tuesday, November 7, 2000, at a private nursing center following an extended illness.
Mr. Wilson was born July 30, 1934, in Banks County, a son of the late Hallie and Fannie Merritt Wilson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from Cathcart Moving Company, Atlanta. Mr. Wilson had also worked at Duckhead Apparel, Baldwin, and was a member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Wilson, and a sister, Claudie Craven.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 9, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Revs. Swayne Cochran, Shane Wilson and Charlie Hopkins officiating. Burial was in the Gillsville Cemetery.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Cochran Wilson; three step-daughters, Sheryl Chase and Sandy Booth, both of Gainesville, and Donna Severn, Oak Park, Calif.; one step-son, Durwood Pepper, Gainesville; two brothers, Donald Wilson and William Wilson, both of Lula; two sisters, Ruby Wiley, Lula, and Barbara Payne, Flowery Branch; one step-sister, Maudie Bennett, Tucker; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

MR. MORRIS
U.S. Marine Corps veteran
GASTONIA, N.C. - Byron Morris, 93, formerly of Cornelia, died Friday, November 10, 2000, at a private nursing home following an extended illness.
Mr. Morris was born May 3, 1907, in Habersham County. He was a son of the late Dillard B. Morris and Beaulah Davis Morris.
Mr. Morris was a graduate of Cornelia High School and Business College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving two years in the South Pacific, and was retired from Southern Railway, where he had worked as chief clerk.
Mr. Morris was a member and life deacon of East Baptist Church, Gastonia, N.C., and had served four years as a general board member of East Gaston Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 13, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Gary Morris officiating. Burial was in Level Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife of 68 years, Anna Mae Ivey Morris, Gastonia, N.C.; one sister, Eula Robinson, Virginia Beach, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

JEFFERSON - Ronald "Bryan" Holliday, 29, died Monday, March 12, 2001.
Mr. Holliday was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rooks and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Jenkins. He had lived most of his life in Winder and was employed with Rooks Paint & Body Shop. Mr. Holliday was of the Baptist denomination.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, in the chapel of Wise-Connolly Funeral Home, Winder, with the Rev. Bill Beshears officiating.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Holliday is survived by his fiancée, Brandy Irvin; two brothers, Brandon Jenkins and Aaron Jenkins, both of Monroe; and aunts and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mason, Watkinsville, and Jeneva Holliday, Carboro, N.C.

COMMERCE - Tony Ray Davis, 31, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at Athens Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Mr. Davis was born July 16, 1969, in Jackson County. He was a son of Palmer and Martha Jane Mathis Pace, Jefferson.
Mr. Davis was self-employed.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Carlton Peters officiating. Burial was in the Center Methodist Church cemetery, Commerce.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Sherry Lynn Davis, Commerce; one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Davis, Commerce; one son, Joshua Ray Davis, Commerce; one sister, Donna McCulloch, Jefferson; two brothers, John Pace, Buford, and Pat Pace, Jefferson; and one sister, Angela Pace Williams, Acworth.

NICHOLSON - Jimmy Chester Barnett, 62, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Barnett was born November 2, 1938, a son of the late Chester A. "CA" and Onia Kesler Barnett.
He was a retired businessman and was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial was in the Antioch United Methodist Church cemetery.
Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife, Wilma Barnett, Nicholson; one daughter, Wanda Barnett David, Nicholson; one brother, Tommy Barnett, Nicholson; one sister, Emma Baerne, Nicholson; and one grandson, Jim David, Nicholson.

ILA - Mrs. Louise Domingue, 79, formerly of Buford, died Thursday, March 8, 2001.
Mrs. Domingue was retired from Morrisons Cafeteria and was a member of Emanuel United Pentecostal Church.
She was the wife of the late Paul Domingue Sr., and was preceded in death by four sons, Paul Domingue Jr., Larry Gene Domingue, Joseph Thurmond Domingue and Charles Ray Domingue.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 11, in the chapel of Tapp Funeral Home, Buford, with the Revs. Jerry Wheeler and Randy Domingue officiating. Burial was in the Sugar Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters, Martha Domingue and Theresa Moore, both of Buford, Margie Morales, Ila, and Elisha Rae Hart, Danielsville; two sons, Billy L. Domingue Sr., Russellville, Ala., and Raymond Wayne Domingue Sr., Commerce; one sister, Clara Mae Hill, Suwanee; 35 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

COMMERCE - Mrs. Pauline Hix Lord, 87, died Friday, March 9, 2001, at the University Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Madison County, Mrs. Lord was born February 1, 1914, a daughter of the late Joseph Carlton and Sara Martin Hix.
She was retired from Commerce Sportswear and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Mrs. Lord was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Lord.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Brad Wilson officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Mrs. Lord is survived by one son, Mike Lord, Commerce; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McDonald was born in Georgia on September 29, 1924, a daughter of the late Clyde and Ida Black Westmoreland.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
