Richard Szymoniak
Richard Alan Szymoniak, 51, died Friday, February 7, 2003, in the Winchester Medical Center. He was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, and was employed as a contract specialist with the U. S. Government for 25 years. He served with the Army Corps of Engineers and more recently with the Federal Highway Administration. He was a member of American Legion Post #21, a graduate of St. Leo College in Florida, a veteran of the Vietnam War, and was an avid fly fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Swindell Szymoniak of Stephens City, Virginia; one son, Richard A. Szymoniak II of Atlanta; one daughter, Marlene Y. Szymoniak Tuten of Midway; his father, Walter Szymoniak; two sisters and two brothers: Shirley Lipscomb, Rose Pavlovich, Walter Szymoniak, Jr., and Ronald Szymoniak, all of Pennsylvania; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, February 11, at Little Rock Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Gabe Gill officiating.

Audrey Anderson
Audrey Anderson, 88, a resident of Wiregrass Nursing Home in Geneva, Alabama, died Friday, January 24, 2003, after an extended illness.
She was born in Tattnall County, Georgia, and was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Elizabeth Bradley Anderson, and six brothers and two sisters. Miss Anderson managed the Cherrio Motel/Quality Inn in Glennville, Georgia, prior to moving to Geneva to live with her sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and C. C. Cotter.
She is survived by one niece, Ann Cotter Owens of Geneva, Alabama; one nephew, Mack Anderson of Orlando, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 26, at Old Tabernacle Cemetery in New Brockton, Alabama, with the Rev. Lee Jones officiating.

Etta Smith
Etta Wilson Smith, 87, died Thursday, February 6, 2003, at Tattnall Community Hospital. She was born in Evans County, living in Glennville, Georgia, most of her life. She was a homemaker, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Jacqulyn Schwadron of Dothan, Alabama; and Babs Dowdy and Kathryn and Wilbert Knight, all of Glennville; five sisters: Fannie Durrence and Madelene Blocker, both of Glennville; and Hazel Stubbs, Louise Craft, and Betty Grice, all of Claxton, Georgia; one brother, Emmitt Wilson of Glennville; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 8, at Calvary Baptist Church in Glennville, with the Rev. Jerry Knight officiating. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Allan Schwadron, Brent Blocker, Wendell Knight, Ashley Knight, Louis Knight, and Daniel Knight.

Odell F. Iddins, Sr.
Odell F. Iddins, Sr., 71, died Thursday, February 7, 2002, at his home. The Tattnall County native was a member of Stoney Hill Free Will Baptist Church, a Korean War veteran, and was retired from Union Camp.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Iddins of Glennville, Georgia; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Odell F. "Nick" Iddins, Jr. and Debbie W. Iddins of Sommerville, Alabama, and Samuel Iddins of Glennville; two brothers, Retus Iddins of Reidsville, Georgia, and Burnice Iddins of Glennville; one sister, Wanda Wiggins of Glennville; two grandchildren, Jeremy Alan Iddins and Morgan Leigh Iddins of Sommerville, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 9, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with the Rev. Harris Nix and the Rev. Wilford Harden officiating. Interment was in Stoney Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Special friends were Edwin Kicklighter, R. L. and Mary Sue Dasher, Jack Cowart, Dottie Harden, Mildred Taul, Elaine and Jimmy Burke, Edwin Padgett, Cecil and Sug Anderson, and Geraldine Nix.

Johnie Kicklighter, Jr.
Johnie Hughes Kicklighter, Jr., 64, died Thursday, February 7, 2002. He was a graduate of Reidsville High School, and a Navy veteran. He had resided in North Carolina for the past 25 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Kaye Fritz of Aberdeen, North Carolina, and Kristen Baldwin of Raleigh, North Carolina; one son, Johnie Hughes Kicklighter III of Pinehurst, North Carolina; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Kate and Charles Dasher of Glennville, Georgia; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 9, at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Michael Bryan officiating.
Pallbearers were Roger Kirkland, Floyd James, Wilton Rhoden, and Jerry Cox.

John Wallace, Jr.
John Wallace, Jr., 73, died Tuesday, February 5, 2002, at Veterans Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. The McIntosh County native had lived in Townsend, Georgia, most of his life. He was a retired auto mechanic, an Army veteran, and a member of Eulonia Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Kitty Wallace of Townsend; one daughter, Frankie Moody of Ludowici, Georgia; one sister, Anna Jackson of Townsend; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 7, at Carter Funeral Chapel in Glennville, Georgia, with the Rev. Danny Stillwell officiating. Burial was in Deverger-Wallace Cemetery in McIntosh County.

Remer J. Dasher, Sr.
Remer J. Dasher, Sr., 75, died Monday, February 4, 2002, at his residence. The Tattnall County, Georgia, native was a resident of Long County for the past 55 years. He was a retired farmer, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, a former member of the Ludowici Masonic Lodge #227 F&AM, a former member of the Alee Shrine Temple of Savannah, and a former committee member of the Long County A.S.C.S. He was a member of Jones Creek Baptist Church.
Mr. Dasher was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam P. Dasher.
He is survived by four sons: R. Jimmy and Sandra Dasher of Claxton, Georgia; and Eddie and Barbara Dasher, Jeffery F. and Joyce Dasher, and Don Dasher, all of Ludowici, Georgia; three sisters: Fannie Lee Holland of Reidsville, Georgia; Dean King of Doerun, Georgia; and Anne Norberg of Glennville, Georgia; one brother, Thurman Dasher of Reidsville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, at Jones Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve Stokes officiating. Burial was in Jones Creek Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Johnnie F. Cribbs, Jr.
Johnnie F. Cribbs, Jr., 66, of Lake City, Florida, died Thursday afternoon, February 7, 2002, in the Specialty Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, following an extended illness. A native of Deland, Florida, Mr. Cribbs had been a resident of Lake City for the past 20 years, having moved from Ohio. He was a retired pipe fitter, having worked in the construction industry most of his life. He loved to fish and do wood work in his spare time. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Evelyn Royals Cribbs; three stepsons: Eugene and Nancy Royals, Danny and Cynthia Royals, and Chris Royals, all of Lake City; four stepdaughters: Martha and Joe Crafton of Pinetta, Florida; Linda and Chris Roady of Tallahassee, Florida; Rosa and Larry Chambliss of Amelia Island, Florida; and Tammy Kavanaugh of Lake City; one sister, Lois Brannon of Deland, Florida; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Cribbs was pre-deceased by his granddaughter, Melissa Chambliss.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, February 11, in the Tabernacle Baptist Church, with Pastor Mike Norman officiating. Interment was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Jerry Kicklighter
Jerry Kicklighter, 49, died February 7, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia, after a short illness. The Bulloch County native had resided in Evans County since 1977. He was a member of Bellville United Methodist Church, an educator, and a science teacher. He had teaching positions at DeKalb Community College, Pinewood Christian Academy, Reidsville High School, and Tattnall County High School. He was a previous board member of the Tatnall County Campground. He was pre-deceased by his natural mother, Tomlyn Kicklighter.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara B. Kicklighter of Bellville, Georgia; his father and mother, Jerry and Bettye Kicklighter of Stone Mountain, Georgia; one son, James Barton Kicklighter of Bellville; one daughter, Elizabeth Anne Kicklighter of Bellville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Kellie Kicklighter of Loganville, Georgia, and Derrick and Kathy Kicklighter of Lawrenceville, Georgia; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Evalyn and Roy Clackum of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Angela Kicklighter of Stone Mountain, Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Sunday, February 10, at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Myers officiating.

Louis W. Cole, 69, died Tuesday, February 5, 2002, at his residence. The Birmingham, Alabama, native had lived in Conley for 30 years. He was a retired heating and air conditioning technician, and was a Methodist.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Rivers of Conley; one daughter, Deborah Hansard of Marietta; two sons, Alan Cole of Lake Worth, Florida, and Wesley Cole of San Francisco, California; three stepsons: David Rivers of Hampton, Georgia; Daniel Rivers of Milner, Georgia; and Dennis Rivers of Stockbridge, Georgia; one sister, Grace Sheehee of Dallas, Texas; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 8, at Cobb Funeral Home, Reidsville Chapel, with the Rev. Sterling Bargeron officiating. Burial was in Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Clarence “Footsie” Carol Waters, 93, of Orlando, Florida, died February 1, 2004. He was born in Tattnall County, Georgia, moving to central Florida in 1937. He was retired from Harry P. Lieu Mill Supply. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
He is survived by his wife, Rubye of Winter Garden; one son, Travis Waters of Orlando; three daughters: Hulda Casteel of Winter Garden, Pamela Clanton of Panama City, and Katie Bush of Oxford, Alabama; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, at the Church of God of Prophecy in Ocoee, officiated by the Rev. J.V. Sullivan, Dr. Ray Minger, and Pastor William Queener. Interment was at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Genovese Braddock
Genovese Thompson Braddock, 84, died Thursday, February 12, 2004, at Bethany Home Nursing Center in Vidalia, Georgia. The Tattnall County native had lived in Savannah for 40 years before returning home to Glennville. She was formerly employed by Lady Jane and Globe Shoe Company in Savannah. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law: James, Sr., and Judie Braddock of Lyons and Ronald P. Braddock, Sr., of Marietta; one brother, Ishmael Thompson of Glennville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with the Rev. Steve Posey officiating. Burial was in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Paul Raymond Carey, 84, of Wellsburg, West Virginia, died Thursday, February 12, 2004, at Brightwood Center in Follansbee, West Virginia.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul A. and Harriet Carey of Glennville and Richard and Lisa Carey of Wellsburg, West Virginia; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 14, at Reasner Funeral Home in Wellsburg, officiated by the Rev. Darin Jones. Burial was in Franklin Cemetery in Wellsburg.
Wilowese Galbreath
Wilowese Kicklighter Galbreath, 89, died Sunday, February 16, at home after an extended illness. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville, Georgia, prior to moving to Richmond Hill, Georgia. She attended Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies’ Circle. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John Leslie and Sheila A. Galbreath of Richmond Hill; one daughter, Agnes Martin of Poplarville, Mississippi; one sister, Aldine K. Donaldson of Glennville; grandchildren: Alicia and Ricky Edwards of Brooklet and Doug and Tina Galbreath of Richmond Hill; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with Elder Spencer Moore officiating. Burial was in Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
