Allalee Brannen Cammack, 87, died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Glenvue Nursing Home under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville, Georgia, most of her life. She was a homemaker, and a member of Glennville First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Lou Beth Stanfield and Gennell Bass, both of Glennville; one brother, W. E. Brannen of Glennville; one son-in-law, Jolly Cason of Glennville; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Watermelon Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Van Power officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were great-grandsons.

David Yeomans
David Yeomans, 48, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Tattnall Community Hospital in Reidsville, Georgia. He had lived in Tattnall County most of his life, and was a Baptist. He had worked as a carpenter, electrician, and truck driver. He was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Yeomans.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Troha Yeomans of Glennville, Georgia; two sisters, Cathy Sapp of Collins, Georgia, and Deborah Terrell of Glennville; two brothers, Dale Yeomans of Ludowici, Georgia, and Donald Yeomans of Kingsland; his mother, Gretha J. Yeomans of Glennville; his stepgrandmother, Louise Yeomans of Glennville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with the Rev. David Everton and Carroll Sapp officiating. Burial was in Stoney Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Greg Lewis, Ricky Dukes, Jan Baker, Terry Joseph, Sam Joseph, and Charles Burkhalter.

Melissa Jo Veal
Melissa Jo Veal, 15, died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at her residence. She was a lifelong member of Rincon Baptist Temple, and lived in Rincon, Georgia, all of her life.
She is survived by her parents, Harold and JoEllen Veal of Rincon; three brothers, Jamey Durrence of Glennville; and Jared Veal and Jason Veal, both of Savannah, Georgia; one sister, Heidi Veal of Savannah; her maternal grandmother, Mildred K. Dasher of Glennville; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. and Vera "Judy" Veal of Guyton, Georgia; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 18, at 2 p.m. at Rincon Baptist Temple. Interment was in Rincon Cemetery.

Gloria Marie Nelson, infant daughter of Robert Edward and Joyce Marie Nelson, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Liberty Regional Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she is also survived by a brother, Robert William Nelson of Glennville, Georgia; her maternal grandparents, Frank and Lillian Oninski of Newton, Alabama, and Katherine Lowery of Pensacola, Florida; and her paternal grandmother, Earnestine Nelson of Brewton, Alabama.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Glennville Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. James M. Holland officiating.

Ollie Taylor Hardy, 91, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Glenvue Nursing Home in Glennville, Georgia. The Wilkinson County native had lived in Glennville for the past seven years. She was a homemaker, and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Bessie and Edward Lee of Hinesville, Georgia, and Barbara and Wayne Renfroe of Macon, Georgia; one son and daughter-in-law, Ernest and Janice Hardy of Macon; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Macon.

Melba Wilds
Melba D. Wilds, 80, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. The Lake County, Florida, native had lived in Reidsville, Georgia, for the past 49 years. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, and a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Madge Weitman of Reidsville, and Lawaun Weitman of Uvalda, Georgia; two sons, Daniel and Geneva Wilds of Lyons, Georgia, and Robert and Willette Wilds of St. George, South Carolina; two sisters, Edna Banks of Leesburg, Florida, and Ethel Milne of Vidalia, Georgia; 19 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Cobb Funeral Home, Reidsville Chapel, with the Rev. Jeffrey Williams officiating. Burial was in Reidsville City Cemetery.

Leon Bennett
Leon Terry Bennett, 47, died Monday, March 18, 2002, at Forest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The Evans County native had lived in numerous places throughout the United States. He was a self-employed welder, a Vietnam veteran, and a member of Glennville First United Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Amy Kirkland of Claxton, Georgia; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Johnnie Mae Bennett of Claxton; a sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Billy Smiley of Ludowici, Georgia; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Carter Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Carter Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. James M. Holland officiating. Burial will be at Poplar Head Church Cemetery, with full military honors.

Anne E. Williams
Anne E. Williams died Friday, March 18, 2005, after an extended illness. She was under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred L. DeTreville, and, later, by her husband, Kenneth R. Williams. She was an active member of Glennville United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, taught MYF and Sunday School classes, and was a member of the Women’s Circle. She was also active in the PTA, the Glennville Garden Club, and the Daughters of the American Revolution, Vidalia Chapter.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann deTreville Lyon (Roy), and a grandson, John Lyon.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, with the Rev. Steve Posey officiating.

James Morris Thrift, 69, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Evans Memorial Hospital. The Charlton County native had lived most of his life in Glennville. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and a retired assistant fire chief at Ft. Stewart. He was an Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Florence Thrift; two sisters, Annette Strickland and Uldine O’Neal; and two brothers, Thomas Thrift and Eugene Thrift.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny Thrift of Glennville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Alan Knight of Glennville and Pam and Tim Seyden of Savannah; three sisters: Charlotte Bacon of Glennville, Carolyn Stansell of Winder, and Eunice Kemp of Glennville; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 21, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville chapel, with Dr. J. O. McLeod and the Rev. Jerry Knight officiating. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.

John D. Haggard, Sr., 76, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Tattnall Healthcare Center.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary L. Haggard; a son, John Haggard, Jr.; and daughters Mary Edwards and Betty Martin, all of Reidsville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Milton O. Garrason
Milton O. Garrason, 88, died early Friday morning, March 18, 2005, at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia. The Grady County native had lived in Long and Wayne counties most of his life. He was a World War II U. S. Army veteran, and a retired agriculture and timber farmer. He attended Rye Patch Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lee Garrason, and a sister, Voncile Nail.
He is survived by a niece and nephew, Gene and Linda Nail of Reidsville; three great-nephews: Dewey Nail, Dennis Nail, and Eben Roberts, all of Reidsville; and several cousins.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at Rye Patch Baptist Church in Long County, with Elder Eugene McDuffie officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

David Ricky Durrence, 41, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He was born in Bulloch County, living in Glennville, Illinois, and Waycross. He was a welder in the construction industry, a member of Boilermakers Local 199, Pipefitters Local 569, and was a member of Equality Presbyterian Church in Equality, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Durrence, Jr.; and grandparents: Mildred and Henry P. Durrence, Herschel H. Durrence, and T. Y. Williams, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Durrence of Waycross; children Denver and Ciara Durrence of Waycross; parents, Ruinette and Joe Williams of Waycross; a sister and brother-in-law, Christie and Shawn Jordan of Blackshear; a brother and sister-in-law, Robbie and Cheryl Durrence of Glennville; grandmothers: Lois H. Durrence of Glennville and Louise Williams of Equality, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Anthony Debevec
Anthony Debevec, 81, died March 19, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah. The Pennsylvania native had lived in Florida for 30 years and North Carolina for 27 years before moving to Reidsville in 1998. He was a retired electrical engineer, working with Uninan Corporation. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, and was of the Catholic faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet L. Debevec; a sister, Mary Debevec; and three brothers, Frank Debevec, Ludrick Debevec, and Matthew Debevec.
He is survived by a daughter, Rosetta Debevec of Savannah; four sons: Barry Debevec of Reidsville; Richard Debevec and Michael Debevec of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and Charles Debevec of Marathon, Florida; one sister, Lucy Bostaph of Kane, Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at Glennville Memorial Gardens.

Martin Luther Cox, 34, of Glennville, died Monday, March 21, 2005. He graduated from Long County High School in 1988, and he was a member of Green Cypress Baptist Church in Claxton. He lived in Savannah for several years and worked at the DeSoto Hilton. From Savannah, he relocated to Metter where he worked at the Metter Elementary School for eight years.
He is survived by four brothers: Willie E. Cox, Tommy C. Cox, Paul W. Cox, and Arthur Cox, all of Glennville; three sisters: Jacqueline Gibbs and Mary Ann Cox, both of Glennville, and Minnie P. Davis of Atlanta; eight aunts; three uncles; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Green Cypress Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Rachel Fowler Brown, 90, died Thursday afternoon, March 17, 2005, at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia. The Spartanburg County native had lived in Weaverville, North Carolina, for many years before moving to Reidsville, Georgia, in 1992. She was a retired supervisor, working with Vanderbilt Shirt Company for 45 years. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church
She is survived by two daughters and a special son-in-law, Rachel Cole of Reidsville and Kate and Walter Strickland of Denmark, South Carolina; two sons and daughters-in-law, Marion ‟Babe” Fowler of Denmark, South Carolina; George "Joe” and Virginia Fowler of Reidsville; and Freda Fowler of Vidalia; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
