Ken Bruce
Ken Bruce, 64, died early Saturday morning, March 18, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. The Tift County native had lived in Tifton many years, moving to Glennville 23 years ago. He was a member of Cornerstone Bible Church, and was self-employed.
He is survived by his wife, Bg Hamilton Bruce of Glennville; three sons and daughters-in-law: Kelly Bruce of Vidalia and Kasey and Vicky Bruce and Kerry and Beth Bruce, all of Glennville; two sisters, Tommie Sue Shephard of Rome and Dot McDougal of Monroe, Louisiana; two granddaughters, Olivia and Alexandra Bruce of Glennville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 20, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Kicklighter officiating. Interment was at 3 p.m. at Tift Memorial Gardens in Tifton.
Active pallbearers were Terry Williams, Steve Bruce, Michael Spradley, Shep Shepard, Mike Shepard, and Ken Parker.
Honorary pallbearers were Larry DeLoach, Eddie Durrence, and Kenny Parker.

Ruth W. Eldridge
Ruth W. Eldridge, 75, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. The Kentucky native had lived in Macomb, Michigan, moving to Glennville in 2000. She was a homemaker, and attended Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Waymand and Sally Gray; her husband, Clifford Ray Eldridge; and a sister, Pauline Gary Wayne.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Debbie and Michael Guin of Pontiac, Michigan; Deanna and Edward Driggers of Glennville; and Dianna and Neal Lowery of Byron, Missouri; sons and daughters-in-law: Curtis Ray and Peggy Eldridge and Raymond L and Debbie Eldridge of Macomb, Michigan; and William H. and Sue Eldridge of Troy, Michigan; brothers, Earl Gray of Cleveland, Georgia, and Kelley Gray of Rose City, Michigan; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, at Carter Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Reuben Cason officiating. Additional services were held at Gramer Funeral Home, Diener Chapel, in Utica, Michigan. Burial was in Eldridge Family Cemetery in Sparta, Tennessee.

Bobby A. Haire
Bobby A. Haire, 50, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Community Hospice in Vidalia. The Evans County native had lived in Texas for many years before returning to Reidsville two years ago. He was an avid motorcyclist.
He is survived by his mother, Loree L. Weathers of Collins; children: Andrea, Jeffry, and Justin, all of Texas; a sister, Connie E. Haire of Vidalia; and brothers: Tommy Lanier of Collins, Michael Haire of South Carolina, and Kenny Haire of Glennville.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 17, in the chapel of Cobb Funeral Home in Reidsville, with the Rev. Andrew Nelms officiating.
Pallbearers were Bobby Schwallenberg, Lou Graham, Johnny Walker, Glenn Walsh, Eric Mack, and Chris Walsh. Burial was in Anderson Church Cemetery.

Timmy Reviere
Eddie C. "Timmy" Reviere, 38, passed away
Saturday, March 11, 2006. He began his journey on
December 23, 1967, to the parentage of Eddie C. Reviere, Sr., and Birdie Lee Porter Reviere, both of whom preceded him in death. Timmy was educated in the Long County school system. He furthered his education at
Savannah State University where he received a BA in
Engineering.
Timmy leaves to rejoice in his homegoing and to celebrate his life's journey a devoted wife, Michelle Reviere; one son, Darnell Bacon; two brothers, Dewitt Porter (Gloria) of Greer, S.C., and Dwayne Reviere of
Macon, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Johnnie Henderson of Savannah; two sisters-in-law, Lucretia Hawkins (Riley) and Kimberly Gillespie (Kellio); father and mother-in-law, Johnnie and Barbara Rayford of Pooler; several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 18 at 1 p.m. at St. James AME Church in Glennville. Burial followed in the Sandhill Cemetery in Long County.

James T. Roberts
James T. "Red" Roberts, 76, died Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Glenvue Nursing Home under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice. The Alabama native was a U. S. Army veteran, and had lived in Glennville since 1952. He retired from Texgas Corporation, and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Matha Roberts.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn "Kathy" and Don Joyal of Glennville; sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond "Butch" and Sandra Block and Charles and Cindy Block, all of Glennville; a brother and sister-in-law, Gaines and Carolyn Roberts of Rogers, Arkansas; grandchildren: Jill and Stephen Weaver, Jana and Antonio Pertinez, Robbie Block, Kylie and Jamie Wilson, Jamie and C. J. Crews, and Shanna and David Jackson; great-grandchildren: Skyler and Logan Weaver; Sofia and Antonio Pertinez, Jr.; Megan Block; Emi and Bailey Wilson; and Noah Joyal.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville chapel, with the Rev. Oscar Rowe, Jr., officiating.

Matthew Runyan
Matthew "Mattie" Grayson Runyan died February 23, 2006. He was born February 20, 2006.
He is survived by his parents, Gabriel and Stephanie Runyan of Pooler; a brother, Zachariah Jacob Runyan of Reidsville; his maternal grandparents, Hubert and Carol Jones and John McCord of Warner Robins; his paternal grandparents, Glenn and Sharon Runyan of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and aunts and uncles, Adam and Rebecca McCord of Savannah and Jessica and Fred Allen of Denver, Colorado.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. February 28 at Battle Creek Primitive Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tommy Blackston officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Ella Ruth Jones
Sister Ella Ruth Jones Wallace, 77, was called home by God on March 17, 2006. She was born on August 28, 1928, to George and Katie Jones in Portal, Georgia. She was a strong believer in the Lord. She was also a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Throughout her life she was a wonderful homemaker and also did domestic work outside of her home. On various occasions Ella Ruth attended Railroad Avenue Church of God in Jesup, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Abraham Wallace; two children, Martha and Mary Wallace; one brother, Ernest Kay; and one grandchild.
She is survived by her mother, Annie Jones; three
loving sons: Deacon Isaac (Chae Sue) Wallace of
Waynesboro; Jacob Wallace and Deacon Douglas (Regina) Wallace, both of Glennville; and a stepson, Abraham Wallace, Jr.; eleven brothers: Herbert Kay, George Robert Jones, Andrew (Mary Ann) Jones, Michael (Della) Jones, Joseph Jones, John (Angela) Jones, and Daniel Jones; three sisters: Mary K. Primus (Johnnie) Myers, Caretha Jones, and Mary Jones; seven grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; one aunt, Mrs. Eloise Scott; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 25, at 1 p.m. at Evening Light Reformation Church of God with Minister Pinkie Brown officiating.

Crystal Hilliard
Crystal “Cricket” Leigh Hilliard, 21, of Collins, Georgia, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton, Georgia, from injuries received in an automobile accident. She was a legal secretary at Jones & Smith PC in Metter, Georgia, and a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her parents, Larry and Carolyn Hilliard; one brother, Jonathan Hilliard; one sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Dustin Lively; a niece and nephew, Linnsey and Alex Lively, all of Collins; her fiancé, Harry Eason of Claxton; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Gregg Smith on Tuesday, April 1, at 2 p.m. at Kennedy-Morgan Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel. Burial was in Collins Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mersadis Shaw
Mersadis Baxter Long Shaw, 79, died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at Glenvue Nursing Home under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice. She was born in Long County, living in Long County and Glennville, Georgia, most of her life. She was a seamstress, homemaker, and a member of Pigot Branch Baptist Church where she was the church pianist for many years and a Sunday School teacher. She was preceded in death by a son, Hoyt Long, and husbands, Marvin C. Long and Emmitt Shaw.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jodonne and Royce Folsom of Glennville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil and Willene Long of Glennville and Richard and Fredia Long of Perry; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Long of Duncan, Oklahoma; one sister, Avis Smiley of Jesup, Georgia; two brothers, Myrl and Mitchell Baxter, both of Ludowici, Georgia; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 31, at Pigot Branch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jake Howard and the Rev. James Young officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jason Long, Gene Reddish, Nathan Long, David Baxter, Keith Long, and Eric Moody.

Roy Rolls
Roy T. Rolls, 78, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Tattnall Community Hospital. The Tattnall County native was a veteran of World War II, a retired security guard at the Mascot Pecan Company, and a carpenter.
He is survived by three daughters: Elaine Keene of Douglas, Darlene Huggins of Statesboro, and Diane Rolls of Loganville; three sons: Tommy Rolls of Reidsville, Andy Rolls of Douglasville, and Roger Rolls of Glennville; one sister, Lois Barrow of Glennville; two brothers, Lester Rolls of Glennville and Prentice Rolls of Lithonia; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 2, at 2 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with the Rev. Don Hughes officiating. Burial was in DeLoach Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Craig Carter, Jimmy McCurdy, Gene Banks, Johnny Barrow, Sam Iddins, and Winston DeLoach.

Myrtle Sharpe
Myrtle Williamson Sharpe, 82, died March 29, 2003, at the home of her daughter, Brenda Sharpe Blocker.
The Evans County native had resided in Tattnall County for the past 22 years, and was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor H. Sharpe, and a grandson, Carl Webster, Jr. She was a very loving and attentive mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Hugh and Linda Sharpe of Hartwell, Georgia; three daughters and a son-in-law: Anne Sharpe Waters of Claxton, Georgia; Myrline Sharpe Webster of Pembroke, Georgia; and Brenda and Danny Blocker of Glennville, Georgia; one sister and brother-in-law, Belle and Hugh C. DeLoach of Claxton, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 31, at 2 p.m. at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Oscar Rowe, Jr., officiating. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Allen and Charles A. Waters, Adrian and Jeffery Blocker, Daniel Webster, and Victor Matt Sharpe. Burial was in Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.

Grace Wilds
Grace Wilds, 68, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Memorial Medical Center. The Virginia native had lived in Tattnall County for 45 years, and was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Vicky Barrow of Reidsville, Georgia, and Betty Jean Hunter of Claxton, Georgia; one stepdaughter, Wilma Baker of Glennville, Georgia; one son, John Barrow of Dublin; two sisters, Julia Akers of Roanoke, Virginia, and Frances Jones of Virginia; one brother, Jimmy Overstreet of Virginia; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 29, at 11 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel. Burial was in Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Michael Lee Woodcock
Michael Lee Woodcock, 50, died Sunday, March 31, 2002, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton, Georgia. He was born in Bulloch County, and had lived in Glennville most of his life. He was a graduate of Glennville High School and Georgia Southern University, and was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Rotary Corporation in Glennville. He was a charter member and Paul Harris Fellow of Glennville Rotary Club, and a charter member and on the Board of Directors of South Georgia Bank. He was a board member of Pinewood Christian Academy, Tattnall County Historical Society, Tattnall County Library, and Industrial Authority, and a member of Glennville First Baptist Church. He was a coach for the Pinewood Christian Academy Golf Team, a board member and officer of Evans Heights Golf Club, a member of Forest Heights Country Club of Statesboro, and Past President of the Tattnall County Republican Party.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie S. Woodcock of Glennville; two sons, Matthew Lee Woodcock of Statesboro and Adam Michael Woodcock of Athens, Georgia; his father and mother, Harry and Jewell Woodcock of Glennville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Scott Kimble of Glennville and Teresa and Tommy Jordan of Baxley, Georgia; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Cindy Woodcock of Hazlehurst, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Glennville First Baptist Church. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Dennis Lamb, Danny Richie, Donald Fountain, Ronnie Barnhill, Ed Nelson, and Chris Holland.

R. Harrel Kicklighter
R. Harrel Kicklighter, 85, died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Glenvue Nursing Home. The Tattnall County native lived in Statesboro, Georgia, for many years and retired in 1982 as supervisor of plant operations at Georgia Southern University. He returned to Glennville, Georgia, in 1990.
He is survived by his wife, India Kicklighter of Glennville; a son and daughter-in-law, Alvin and Saundra Kicklighter of Dalton, Georgia; two grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law, Brett and Lisa Kicklighter and Lee Kicklighter, all of Dalton; one great-grandson, Garrett Kicklighter of Dalton; and one sister, Bertha Anderson of Glennville.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, in Glennville Memorial Gardens, conducted by Elder W. H. Durrence.
