Don Durrence
Don Durrence, 80, died Wednesday, April 18, 2006, at Glenvue Nursing Home. The U. S. Army veteran also served in the Merchant Marines, and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Luther and Mabel Durrence; a sister, Glorida D. Dasher; and a niece, Jeanie Mae Dasher.
He is survived by a nephew (and wife), Vernon and Kathy Dasher of Glennville; one great-niece; one great-nephew; three great-great-nieces; four great-great-nephews; and several cousins and other relatives.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, at Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Elder Tom R. Solossi officiating.

Juan Salas Macias
Juan Jose Salas Macias, 21, died April 13, 2006. The Mexico native had lived in Claxton and Glennville for several years. He was employed by Poor Boy Masonry of Statesboro, and was of the Catholic faith. He was preceded in death by a brother, Luis Salas Macias.
He is survived by his wife, Lila Witchell Salas of Claxton; children, Juan Pablo Salas and Zackery Witchell Salas, both of Claxton; and his parents, Abel Salas Martinez and Manuela Macias Mercado of Mexico.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in Mexico.

Paul Oliver
Clinton Paul Oliver, Jr., 52, died Friday, April 21, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a native of Tattnall County, and a graduate of Glennville High School and of The Citadel Military College in South Carolina. He was a member and a Deacon of Glennville First Baptist Church, and was employed by the Georgia Department of Corrections. He was preceded in death by a son, Clay Oliver.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Waters Oliver of Glennville; a son, Clint Oliver of Glennville; his parents, Clinton and Mary Frances Oliver of Glennville; sisters: Fran Doupe of Los Angeles, California; Julie Link of Carmel, Indiana; and Mary Ruth Ray of Glennville; brothers: Bert Oliver and Hamp Oliver of Glennville and David Oliver of Claxton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at Glennville First Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Keith Rustin and the Rev. Mike Britt. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Mark Waters, Charley Waters, Al Randall, Will Perkins, Seth Oliver, and Justin Oliver.
Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of Glennville First Baptist Church.

Eunice Roberts
Eunice Roberts, 59, died Friday, April 21, 2006, at Candler County Hospital. She was a resident of Tattnall Healthcare at the time of her death. She was born in Tattnall County, Georgia, on June 8, 1946, to the late Thomas and Ada Watson Johnson of Glennville. She attended the Tattnall County School System where she graduated. She also attended California Nursing School where she graduated as a registered nurse.
She is survived by her ex-husband, Roger Roberts of Los Angeles; two children, Sarah E. Johnson of Glennville and Jason Roberts of Los Angeles; three grandchildren: Gabrialle, Allannah, and Autumn Latisha Johnson of Baxley; brothers: Grady Johnson, Billy T. Johnson, Reginald Johnson, Donald Johnson, and Lewis Johnson, all of Glennville, and Tommie Lee Johnson of Baxley; sisters: Mary N. Brown of Daleville, Alabama; Willie B. Lites-Sewell of Chicago, Illinois; and Teresa Ann Johnson of Brunswick; two sisters-in-law, Quanita Johnson of Baxley and Eva Mae Johnson of Glennville; one brother-in-law, Robert Sewell of Chicago, Illinois; four aunts: Annie Harvey, Katherine Middleton, and Thema Johnson, all of Glennville, and Pauline Watson of Macon; four uncles: Joede and Henry Watson of Glennville, Mack Watson of Macon, and Aaron Johnson of Savannah; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and a dear special friend, Mary Davis of Glennville.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Groveland, officiated by the Rev. L. Perry McNeal.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Carsie Tootle
Carsie Nell Tootle, 69, died Thursday, April 20, 2006. The Tattnall County native had lived in Florida for the past several years. She was a member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church, and was a retired teacher.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Harry R. and Kathleen Ford of Arlington, Virginia, and Robbie and Laura Ford of Richmond Hill; sisters, Katie Ruth Tootle of Glennville and Dora Jane Kemp of Groveland, Florida; brothers, Clyde Tootle of Glennville and L. C. Tootle of Lyons; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 24, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Jerry Knight and Dr. Calvin Webb. Burial was in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cary Tootle, Durrell Tootle, Derwood Tootle, Jim Tootle, Marty Weathers, Joey Tootle, Gary Jones, and Kline Tootle.

Ray Blocker
Thomas Ray Blocker, 25, died Friday, April 7, 2006, at Evans Memorial Hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born in Bulloch County, living in Glennville all his life. He was employed at Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Statesboro, and was a wrestling and racing fan. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond Burkhalter.
He is survived by his parents, Gerald and Tammy Blocker of Glennville; a brother, Blake Blocker of Glennville; his maternal grandmother, Helen Burkhalter of Glennville; his paternal grandparents, Wright and Beatrice Blocker of Glennville; a special friend, Kellie Lynn; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 10, at Carter Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. James M. Holland officiating. Burial was in Glennville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Jeff Cook, James Cook, David Gay, Andrew Gay, Victor Kennedy, and Zachery Taylor.

Ted DeLoach
Prentice O. "Ted" DeLoach, 81, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006. He was a native of Glennville and a resident of Saraland, Alabama. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U. S. Navy, and a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the U. S. Air Force. He finished his military career with the U. S. Army, and retired full time with the National Guard in Mobile. He was an active member of the Toulmin Masonic Lodge where he served as Past Master, and he was an active member of the ABBA Shrine Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. DeLoach.
He is survived by one daughter, Cindy (William) White of Mobile, Alabama; one stepdaughter, Rosemary (Rankin) Doggett of Saraland; his twin brother, P. W. "Bill" (Sharon) DeLoach of Mobile; two sisters, Allijean Stubbs and Joyce "Cliff" Stubbs of Glennville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 7, at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland.
Graveside services and interment were at 3 p.m. in Belforest Community Cemetery, with full military honors.

Rev. James W. Overstreet
The Rev. James W. Overstreet, 92, died at his home on Friday, April 7, 2006, under hospice care. He was a carpenter, and an ordained minister of the Church of God of the Georgia General Assembly of the Church of God. He was born August 20, 1913, to the late Sarah B. and Henry Overstreet in Toombs County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucile; his sons, Ralph and Jimmy Overstreet; and eight siblings.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Anna Relaford Overstreet of Riceboro; daughters: Mildred McPherson (Marion) of Savannah; Annette Lloyd (Harry) of Midway; Gertie Bacon (William) of Riceboro; Marcia Walker (James) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Andrea Relaford of Newburg, New York; sons: Winston Relaford (Carolyn) of Green Cove Spring, Florida; Julius Relaford and William Relaford (Barbette) of Savannah; Osee Relaford, Jr. (Jeannie) of Allenhurst; Leon Relaford (Antionette) of Goldsboro, North Carolina; Carlton Relaford (Barbara) of Miami, Florida; Warren Relaford (Kristi) of Landstuhl, Germany; and Victor Relaford (Ursula) of Atlanta; brothers-in-law, Jessie McCarr (Ruth) and Eddie McCarr (Mary) of Port Wentworth; sisters-in-law: Edna Wallace of Savannah and Nora Overstreet and Ola Mae Overstreet, both of Springfield; 59 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Reformation Church of God in Glennville, and then on Friday, April 14, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Riceboro Church of God in Riceboro.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 15, at 12 noon at North Side Church of God in Springfield, with the Rev. Reginald Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Maurice Ray Reeves
Maurice Ray Reeves died Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Glenvue Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was born February 18, 1942, in Valdosta, Georgia, to Willie and Gertrude Reeves. He had lived in Arcadia, Florida, most of his life, moving to Glennville 20 years ago. He was a private person, though very hard working; could tell jokes for hours; loved to collect NASCAR memorabilia; and loved the outdoors. He loved to talk about his family, and was very protective of those he loved. He was employed by National Automatic Sprinkler Fitters, a 35-year member of NASF Local 821, and a U. S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Reeves of Glennville; a daughter, Leslie Reeves of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; two sons, James Spoon of Glennville and Jamie Davis of Keene, New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Karlee Ann and Joshua Davis; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, at Carter Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Arcadia, Florida.

Benny L. Williams
Benny L. Williams, 59, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at his residence in Long County after a brief illness. The Johnson County native had lived in this area since 1967. He worked as a Millwight with Local Union 965. He was a talented carpenter, an avid outdoorsman, and was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Ann Williams of Glennville; a daughter, Tina Ann Hoffman; a son, Billy Leon Williams; a special grandson, Shannon Leon Williams; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial funeral service was held at 3 p.m Saturday, April 8, at Pigott Branch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rusty Bailey officiating. Burial was private.

Mary Difiore
Mary Difiore, 82, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at Tattnall Healthcare. The Chatham County native lived most of her life in Savannah, having moved to Reidsville two years ago. She was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Savannah, a member of the Hibernian Society of Savannah, and a retired operating room technician at St. Joseph's Hospital.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Ralph and Jane Difiore of Beaufort, North Carolina, and Michael and Alison Difiore of Reidsville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, at Hillcrest Abbey Cemetery in Savannah.

Raymond J. Lewis
Raymond J. Lewis, 58, died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at his residence. He was a carpenter.
