Naomi S. Lee
Naomi Sue Lee, 84, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Glenvue Nursing Home in Glennville, Georgia. The Bryan County native had lived most of her life there, having moved to Glennville about five years ago. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill, and was also very active in Eastern Star.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Hillcrest-Abbey, East, Savannah.

Margaret Faulk
Margaret Isilene Banks Smith Davis Faulk, 76, of Savannah, Georgia, died Thursday afternoon, May 26, 2005, at Spanish Oaks Retreat under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice. She was born in Glennville, Georgia, and was the daughter of the late Thomas Banks and Minnie Blalock Banks. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and a member of the Masters Sunday School class. She was the 1946 salutatorian graduate of Glennville High School, and a 1950 graduate of Piedmont School of Nursing in Atlanta. She retired in 1991 as a registered nurse with Memorial Health University Medical Center, having served as Head Nurse of the Urology Department. After retirement, she continued to work part time at Candler Hospital. She had visited 43 states, over 35 countries, and 5 continents. She visited the Holy Land this past October.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wallace Smith; her second husband, Carl David Davis; and her third husband, Herbert “Buddy” Faulk.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Derrick D. and Lisa K. Davis of Savannah; and three grandchildren: Lauren Davis, Rachel Davis, and Caleb Davis.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Bible Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Herbert F. Hubbard. Interment followed at 3 p.m. in Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Glennville, conducted by the Rev. Dr. John E. Rainwater.

Norris A. Dreggors
Norris A. Dreggors, 72, died Sunday, May 29, 2005, at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Glennville, and a member of Pigott Branch Missionary Baptist Church. He was a devoted farmer, and a veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Minnie Dreggors; his sister, Sue Nell Anderson; and brothers, Doyle Dreggors, Lashrell Dreggors, and Roth Raw Dreggors.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Elaine Nobles Dreggors; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin Dreggors Waters and Richard Waters, and their two sons, Matthew and Madison; a son, Daniel Norris Dreggors, and his fiancée, Imelda Andrade; his daughter, Brenna Dreggors, and her mother, Leigh Dreggors; Imelda’s children, Felix, Jose, and Jenniffer; a sister, Samarata Griffin; three brothers: Racile Dreggors (Barbara Knight), William Dreggors (Novadean Patterson), and Larry Dreggors (Jeanette Watson); and a brother-in-law, Elton Anderson. All survivors are residents of Glennville.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Pigott Branch Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Young and the Rev. Oscar Rowe, Jr., officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Dreggors, Steve Dreggors, John Dreggors, Mark Griffin, Lee McCurdy, Glenn Purcell, Marc Nobles, and Edmund Nobles.

Ann Gay, 41, died Thursday morning, May 26, 2005, after a short illness. The Tattnall County native had lived in Milledgeville most of her life.
She is survived by her parents, Herman L. and Opaline Gay of Reidsville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Patsy Gay and Mike and Carolyn Gay of Toombs County; a niece, Brittany Gay; and a nephew, Michael Gay.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Robert Ferrell. Interment was in Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Thomas Bland, Kenneth Mosley, Jay Pittman, Alan Holton, D. W. O’Neal, and Daniel Beshires.

Thelma Blocker
Thelma Kicklighter Blocker, 87, died Monday, May 20, 2002, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton, Georgia, after a long illness. The Tattnall County native was a former member of the Midway Homemakers' Club and Love's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Monroe Blocker, and a grandson, Jonathan Heath Boynton.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Rook Boynton of Clarkston; one son, Bill Blocker of Glennville, Georgia; one sister, Nell Driggers of Savannah, Georgia; two brothers, Demery Kicklighter of Gray and Eugene Kicklighter of Glennville; three grandchildren: Heidi Butler and Brett Lee Butler of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, and Cale Blocker of Glennville; and one great-grandchild, Brittany Butler.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder W. H. Durrence and Elder Scott Williams officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Laura Barfield
Laura Franchester Barfield, 94, died Sunday, May 19, 2002, at Glenvue Nursing Home in Glennville, Georgia. She was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, but had lived the last several years in Glennville. She was a beauty stylist by profession, but also served as a volunteer welder during World War II in the Navy shipyard in New Orleans. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Barfield; a son, Tony Monteleon; a daughter, Mimi Crawford; and a brother, Jack Stiegman.
She is survived by two brothers, Albert Stiegman of Columbus, Ohio, and Glenn Stiegman of Glennville; and several nieces and nephews, including Pam and Terry Waters, Steve and Pam Stiegman, and Glenn and Glenda Stiegman.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, May 21, at 11 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with Father Brian LaBurt officiating. Burial was private.

Bertie Flowers
Bertie DeLoach Flowers, 83, died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton, Georgia. She was born in Tattnall County and lived in Tattnall County all her life. She was a homemaker, and a member of Stoney Hill Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Flowers; a son, Randall Flowers; and a son-in-law, Melvin Pierce.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Ruth F. Pierce of Glennville, Georgia, and Bobbie F. and Arlie Tucker of Dexter, Georgia; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Jackie and Sheila Flowers and Kent and Joyce Flowers, all of Glennville; two granddaughters, Melissa Flowers and Crystal Pierce; two grandsons, Keith Flowers and Justin Flowers; one great-grandson, Kevin Flowers; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 20, at 3 p.m. at Carter Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Wilford Harden and the Rev. Harris Nix officiating. Burial was in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Slim Ray
Eldred (Slim) Ray, 89, died Monday, May 20, 2002, at Glenvue Nursing Home. He was a Tattnall County native and a member of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church for over 60 years. He was a retired farmer and school bus driver. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Myrtle Baker Ray of Glennville, Georgia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Tommy Moore of Glennville, Georgia, and Janet and Ted French of Charleston, South Carolina; a son and daughter-in-law, Jewette and Carolyn Ray of Vidalia, Georgia; a sister, Wanda Jean Odom of Lake Okeechobee, Florida; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 23, at 11 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with the Rev. Oscar Rowe, Jr. officiating. Burial was in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Howard Ray, Reginald Ray, Dean Bland, Claudie Dixon, Larry Baker, Bryan Baker, and Paul Conner.

Matthew Motakefpour
Matthew Motakefpour, 21, died Sunday, May 20, 2004, from injuries received in an auto accident in Long County. The Houston, Texas, native had lived in Glennville for several years, and was employed by Stonewall Homes.
He is survived by his mother, Darlene Clinton of Glennville; his father, Sayed Abbas Motakefpour of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Brandy Jane Phillips of Texas; one brother, Farshad Motakefpour of Oklahoma; and an aunt and uncle, Kathy and Marcus R. Rigsby of Florida.
Funeral services and burial will be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Joan Kimble
Joan Woodcock Kimble, 48, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born September 17, 1955, in Glennville, Georgia, she was the daughter of Harry Lee and Jewell Perkins Woodcock of Glennville, and the wife of Scott Wesley Kimble. She was employed with Mary Black Memorial Hospital, and was a member of Glennville First Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are two sons, Wesley Scott Kimble and Andrew Kyle Kimble, both of Spartanburg; a brother, Larry A. Woodcock of Hazlehurst, Georgia; and a sister, Teresa W. Jordan of Baxley, Georgia.
Private memorial services will be conducted by the Rev. Tommy Jordan.
This Friday, June 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Woodcock family will be receiving visits from family and friends at the Glennville First Baptist Church fellowship hall.

Grace Bootle
Grace Elders Bootle, 78, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004. The South Carolina native had lived in Charleston most of her life. She was the daughter of P. Luther Bootle, Sr., and Grace Bootle Long. She was a sales lady with Shoe Warehouse. She attended Northbridge Baptist Church, was the former owner of Oak Lane Grocery, and former manager of Lottie’s Shoes for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William Terrell Bootle.
She is survived by her brother, P. Luther Bootle of Atlanta.
Graveside services were held Friday, May 28, at 4 p.m. in Reidsville City Cemetery where the Rev. Marshall K. Singletary officiated.

Joyce Agress
Joyce Lipsitz Agress of Augusta, Georgia, 76, died Thursday, May 13, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan S. Agress. She was a native of Glennville, Georgia, and attended Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. She resided in Augusta for the past 12 years, and was a member of Walton Way Temple. She was the co-owner of Maxwell’s Department Store in Swainsboro with her late husband, Nathan Agress, for 20 years. The store Is now owned by her son, Robert, and has continued in business for over 40 years.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan Agress Miller and Steve Miller of Santa Maria, California; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Agress and Joyce Agress of Swainsboro, Georgia; and two grandchildren, Emily Agress of Augusta and Adam Agress of Atlanta.
Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 17, with Rabbi Sanford Marcus officiating.

Mallory Ryals Purcell
Mallory Ryals Purcell, 93, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at Glenvue Nursing Home in Glennville, Georgia, under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice. She was born in Wheeler County, living in Savannah and Glennville most of her life. She was a homemaker, and a Baptist.
She is survived by a son and daughter in-law, Don and Rebecca Goss of Metter, Georgia; stepsons Harry Purcell, Howard Purcell, Bobby Purcell, and Jerry Purcell; a sister, Leola Cox of Savannah; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial will be at a later date.

Gene M. Folsom
Gene M. Folsom, 70, died Thursday, June 2, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. The Tattnall County native was a graduate of Glennville High School, and was a member of Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church. He was retired as a foreman with Georgia Power Company, and was later known as the “vegetable man.”
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Avis Watson Folsom of Glennville; daughters and son-in-law, Pamela and Ron Heinkel and Paula Folsom of Orlando, Florida; sisters and brothers-in-law: Shirley and Gene Caison and Mildred Long of Ludowici and Madera and Lamont Moody of Glennville; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Hannah Folsom of Glennville; a grandson, Ronnie Heinkel of Orlando; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Reuben Cason officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Bobby Folsom, Joe Folsom, Jay Folsom, Glenn Purcell, Scott Rogers, Robb Kicklighter, Alex Rogers, and David Brown.
