Willie Douglas, 82, died Friday, June 3, 2005, at the Candler County Hospital. The Dekalb County native had lived in Reidsville, Georgia, for the past fifteen years. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his caretakers: the staff and residents of Tattnall Healthcare in Reidsville.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Daisy Jarrell
Infant Daisy Jarrell died Sunday, May 29, 2005, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Milo “Tootie” Jarrell, Jr.
She is survived by her parents, Jimmy and Charlotte Jarrell of Collins; a brother, Charlton Jarrell of Collins; maternal grandmother, Betty Carol Smith of Reidsville; paternal grandparents, Kenneth Jarrell and Linda Jarrell, both of Collins; paternal great-grandparents, Maggie Jarrell and J. C. and Katherine Green, all of Collins; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Elder Tom Deal.

Clara Mae Fowler
Clara Mae Fowler, 87, died Monday evening, June 6, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The Worth County native had lived in Reidsville, Georgia, since 1949. She was a member of the Reidsville Baptist Church where she was currently serving as President of the Adult Senior Citizen Sunshine Group and Treasurer of the Joy Sunday School Class. She was a weekly contributor to the Senior Citizen column of The Tattnall Journal. She was also a member of the Reidsville Lions Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Fowler.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dolores Fowler James and Floyd James of Reidsville; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Dusty and Carrie James of Reidsville; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Darla J. and Al Nicholls of Milledgeville, Georgia, and DeLicia J. and Mike Kennedy of Reidsville; seven great-grandchildren: Nicole and Jay Owens, Heath and Kelly James, Ashley Richardson, Kristin Kennedy, Kalin Richardson, Heather Kennedy, and Allen Nicholls; three great-great-grandchildren: Cole Owens, Morgan Owens, and Lexi James; and special friend, Captain J. W. Robertson, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 9, at the Reidsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Marion Patton officiating. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery. Mrs. Fowler will lie in state at the church beginning at 1 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Heath James, Ashley Richardson, Jay Owens, Kalin Richardson, Allen Nicholls, and Van Kennedy. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Joy Sunday School Class and the Reidsville Lions Club.

Jim Schilinski
Jim Schilinski, 52, died May 11, 2004. He was born May 21, 1951. He settled in Glennville in 1980 when he was discharged from the Army at Ft. Stewart. He lived in Glennville with his family until 1989 when he and his family moved to Brunswick, Georgia.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Brown of West Palm Beach, Florida. She and her husband moved to Glennville in 1980 and returned to West Palm Beach in 1998; his daughter, Melissa O’Brien, a graduate of Glennville High School who lives in West Palm Beach with her two children, Sean and Kayla O’Brien; and two sons, Chad Schilinski and Brett Schilinski of West Palm Beach (attended grade school in Glennville).
Charles Driggers
Charles Grady Driggers, 70, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at his residence under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Reidsville all his life. He was a retired farmer, and retired bus driver with the Tattnall County Board of Education. He attended Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine Driggers of Reidsville; one brother, Ed Driggers of Collins; one sister, Maqueen Iddens of Reidsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 6, at Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery.

John D. Bradley, Jr.
Colonel (Ret.) John D. Bradley, Jr., died Friday, June 4, 2004, in a Brunswick hospital. He was a retired Army armored officer. He was born September 9, 1914, in Glennville, Georgia, to Daniel and Winnie Williams Bradley. A graduate of The University of Georgia, he was a former Post Commander of Ft. Stewart and was in seven campaigns in World War II (Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes ‟Battle of the Bulge,” Central Europe, and Rhineland). His military decorations included the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, French Croix de Guerre, Oak Leaf Cluster Bronze Star, Oak Leaf Cluster Legion of Merit, World War II Victory Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Occupation Medal, and the National Defense Medal.
He was the general manager of the Collins-Glennville Railroad. He served as a member of the General Assembly of the State of Georgia as a Representative, and was one of the founders of The Coastal Bank. He was the oldest member of Glennville United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, John D. Bradley III. He was a loving father to Karen Hanson.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Betty Bradley of Glennville; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Bradley of Charleston; four grandsons: Daniel Bradley of San Francisco; and David and Lauren Bradley, Michael Bradley, and Paul Bradley, all of Charleston; a special friend, Charlotte Hayes of Conyers; a nephew, Richard Bradley, Jr.; a niece, Susan B. Anderson; and special cousins Dan Bradley, Waldo Bradley, and Jane Bradley.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, in the chapel of Cobb Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Steve Posey and Chaplain Lieutenant Colonel George F. Spencer. Interment was in Brewton Cemetery in Hagan, with full military honors.
Pallbearers were Daniel Bradley, David Bradley, Michael Bradley, Paul Bradley, Daniel Anderson, Ricky Bradley, Brad Anderson, and Alan Anderson.

Infant Lacey Marie Ansell, 15 days old, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Memorial Health Medical University in Savannah, Georgia.
She is survived by her parents, Patrick and Lisa Ansell of Glennville; identical twin, Macey Ansell of Glennville; maternal grandparents, Nancy and Wayne Norris of Baxley and Johnny Blanton of Jesup; paternal grandparents, Debbie and James Carter of Tattnall Landing; maternal great-grandparents, Hubert and Grace Padgett of Reidsville and Martha Sue Padgett of Jesup; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, at Pineview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mellie Ruth Boyette Floyd
Mellie Ruth Boyette Floyd, 78, died Thursday, June 6, 2002. She was born March 1, 1924, in Tattnall County, and was the daughter of Preston and Mamie Bridgman Boyette. She was a lifelong resident of Glennville, Georgia, and was a member of Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church, a member of the adult Sunday School class, and a member of the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary. She was retired from Central Pharmacy.
She was preceded in death by a son, Olin Clyde "Bubba" Floyd, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Olin Clyde "O. C." Floyd of Glennville; one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanan and Enman Lewis of Jesup, Georgia; two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Michael and Sondra Herrin Lewis of Jesup and Olin Clyde III "Trey" and Bridget Swindell Floyd of Glennville; two great-grandsons, Olin Clyde IV "Ollie" Floyd of Glennville and Blake Herrin of Jesup; one sister, Dorothy B. Griner of Claxton, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 8, at 3 p.m. at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Scott Williams and Elder Spencer Moore officiating. The eulogy was given by Ken Griner. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dannis Rogers, Jack Cox, Jerry Cox, Eddie Bradley, John H. Cox, Bill Griner, Jimmy Cox, and Wayne Bradley.

Mary Griffin
Mary Helen Griffin, 80, died Sunday, June 12, 2005, at Evans Memorial Hospital. The Tattnall County native had lived in Alabama and Savannah for many years, moving back to Glennville in 1984. She was a homemaker, and a member of Glennville First Baptist Church and the Gideon Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lee Kicklighter and Daisy Kicklighter Hollingsworth, and a brother, Jessie Kicklighter.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Julian Griffin of Glennville; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Marie Griffin of Richmond Hill and Daniel and Beverly Griffin of Rincon; granddaughters, Stacy Leigh (Mark) Sellers of Griffin and Amy (Jeff) Mock of Statesboro; three great-grandchildren: Austin, Joseph, and Hannah Mock; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Carter Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Keith Rustin and Dr. Mark Sellers officiating. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.

Hazel M. Eby
Hazel M. Eby, 82, died Sunday, June 12, 2005, in Meadows Nursing Center in Vidalia. She was a native of Decatur County, Georgia, living most of her life in Miami, Florida, and Vero Beach, Florida (20 years), and in Vidalia the last two years. She was a homemaker, a Girl Scout Leader for three years, and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Miami.
She is survived by her husband, Roy D. Eby of Vidalia; one daughter, Carolyn Summerford and husband David of Glennville; two sons, Daniel Eby and wife Karen of Albany; and Thomas Eby and wife Marcia of Vero Beach; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church near Glennville, with Elder David Summerford officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Gary Harrelson
Gary Harrelson, 41, died Friday, June 10, 2005, at his residence. The Toombs County native had lived in Reidsville all his life. He was a carpenter, employed with Shane Arnold Construction, and was of a Baptist faith.
He is survived by a daughter, Lacy Harrelson of Collins; his grandmother, Ruby Hutcheson of Reidsville; a brother, Jeffery Harrelson of Reidsville; two uncles, Rodney and Eddie Hutcheson of Reidsville; two nephews, Curt Harrelson of Claxton and Dewayne Harrelson of Reidsville; and two great-nephews, Easton and Kurt Harrelson.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sterling Bargeron officiating. Interment was in Little Flock Church Cemetery.

Marilyn Joy Kicklighter Brinson, 68, died May 25, 2005, at her residence in Oviedo, Florida, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Brinson, and a daughter, Rhonda Cowher Seay.
She is survived by two sons, Timothy Cowher of Oviedo, Florida, and Anthony Aldon Cowher of Sanford, Florida; her mother, Myrtice Waters Kicklighter of Glennville; two sisters, La Juan Richardson of Glennville and Deborah Thornton of Douglasville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Rubye Cox Mattaliano, 96, died Thursday evening, June 9, 2005, at Claxton Nursing Home. The Tattnall County native had lived in Reidsville most of her life. She was a homemaker, and a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest “Blocker” Cox and Angelo Mattaliano; a son, Lamonte Cox; and an infant daughter, Geraldine Cox.
She is survived by her son and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Rosalyn Cox and Geraldine Cox of Reidsville; a sister, Maudie Hall of Tampa, Florida; three grandchildren: Gerald Cox, Sid and Lynn Cox, and Lori and Randy Tucker; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home. Interment was in Reidsville City Cemetery.

Eloise Moody
Eloise Jordan Moody, 82, died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at the home of her brother in Plant City, Florida. The Clinch County native had lived in Glennville for the past 20 years, and was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was retired from the Tetley Tea Company with 25 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Young, and her husband, J. C. Moody.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Twitty of Nashville, Tennessee; three sons, James Moody of Savannah and Larry Moody and Tony Moody of Glennville; two brothers, A. L. Jordan of Plant City, Florida, and Calvin Jordan of Macclenny, Florida; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Clair Jordan of Plant City, Florida.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 14, at 11 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville chapel, with Bishop Allen Morgan officiating. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dustin Skipper, Charles Moody, Randy Thompson, Terry Kicklighter, Kilifi Matavao, and C. J. Martwick.
