W. H. Daughtry, Jr.
The Rev. W. H. Daughtry, Jr., 84, died Monday, September 27, 2004, at Evans Memorial Hospital. The Long County native had lived in Glennville most of his life. He was retired from Civil Service at Ft. Stewart, a retired Baptist minister, and a World War II veteran. He was a member of Stoney Hill Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth A. Daughtry.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Anne and Bill Forsyth and Katie Nease, all of Glennville; one son and daughter-in-law, William H. "Bill” and Gail Daughtry III of Glennville; one sister, Georgia Bell Bland of Glennville; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 29, at Carter Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Wilford Harden and the Rev. David Sands officiating. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery, with military honors.
Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews.

Annie L. Kicklighter
Annie L. Kicklighter, 91, of Savannah, died Saturday, September 25, 2004, at her residence under the care of Vistacare Hospice. Her family and dedicated caregiver were at her side.
She was born in Glennville, Georgia, August 23, 1913. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Jackson Kicklighter. They moved to Savannah in 1942, and went to work at Union Camp Corporation where she worked in the cafeteria for many years. She was a former member of Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church, and a member of the Savannah Progressive Primitive Baptist Church and the Sadie Crow Circle.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Gwen K. and Bill Butler of Savannah and Anita K. Thompson of Tampa, Florida; a sister, Bonita McCaskill of Portland, Tennessee; six grandchildren: Allen and Stella Butler of Gresham, Oregon; Julie and Rick Bean of Savannah; Tim and Robin Butler of Savannah; Michael and Marie Rahal, of Tampa; Anthony Rahal of Savannah; and Stephanie Thompson of Tampa; nephews, Bill Kicklighter of Albany, Georgia; Don Kicklighter of Brunswick; Danny and Joseph Saunds of Darien; Ron Walker of Tigard, Oregon; and Mike, Joy, Larry and Jack Kicklighter of South Carolina; a niece, Zena Sue Biggs of Portland, Tennessee; five great-grandchildren: Lawra Rahal of Tampa; Matt and Scott Bean of Savannah; Megan Butler of Old Town, Maine; and Quinn Rahal of Savannah; and two step-great-grandchildren, Macy and Shane Davis of Savannah.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home–Hodgson Memorial Chapel in Savannah.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 30, in the chapel of the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home–Hodgson Memorial Chapel, with Elder Wayne Gibbs officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Glennville, with Elder Wayne Gibbs officiating.

Elbert Hutcheson
Elbert Hutcheson, 86, died Saturday evening, September 25, 2004, at his residence. The Treutlen County native had lived in Reidsville most of his life. He was retired from Canoochee Electric Membership Corporation, and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Madeline Hutcheson and Patsy Harrelson.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruby Crews Hutcheson of Reidsville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Karen Hutcheson and Eddie and Faye Hutcheson of Reidsville; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Calvin Durrence officiating. Interment was in Little Flock Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billy Hutcheson, Rob Hutcheson, Wes Hutcheson, Wade Hutcheson, Lonnie Hutcheson, Ricky Hutcheson, David Hutcheson, and Rocky Hutcheson.

Wynette Dreher
Wynette Durrence Dreher, 81, died Thursday, September 5, 2002, at her home in Columbia, South Carolina. Born in Glennville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Barney McCoy Durrence and Lyda Vastia Kennedy. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Columbia, South Carolina, a lifetime member of the Newberry College Women's League, Past Area Vice President of the ALS Association of South Carolina, a volunteer for Senior Friends, and a leader in the community.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie D. Floyd of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; three grandchildren: Harry W. Floyd and W. Troy Floyd of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Shannon F. Chapman of Columbia, South Carolina; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Bonair D. Kennedy of Collins, Georgia; Evelyn D. Jarriel of Smyrna, Georgia; and Mary Ann D. Gardiner of Columbia, South Carolina. She was predeceased by her husband, William Thurmond Dreher, in 1989, and their son, William Thurmond Dreher, Jr., in 1964.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Milas Y. Sease III and Associate Pastor James C. Parham III. Interment was in Elmwood Memorial Gardens.

W. B. "Bill" Rhoden
W. B. "Bill" Rhoden, 88, died Friday, September 6, 2002, at Toombs County Nursing Home. The Tattnall County native was former owner of the Jesup Sentinel newspaper for almost 30 years. He was a former Kiwanian, had taught men's and ladies' Sunday School classes, served on the Methodist Board of Stewards, and was a member of Cobbtown United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Rhoden of Cobbtown, Georgia; a daughter and son-in-law, Dottie R. and Jack Hicks of Cobbtown; a sister, Marion Carmichael of Swainsboro, Georgia; and grandchildren and spouses, Derek and Elizabeth Bailey of Quantico, Virginia, and Shandra and Randall Montague of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 8, at Cobbtown United Methodist Church. Burial was in Sunlight Cemetery.

Noelia Esquivel
Noelia Cruz Esquivel, 35, died Monday, September 9, 2002, at Medical College of Georgia from injuries sustained in an ATV accident. The McAllen, Texas, native had lived in Glennville for the past 14 years. She was employed by Rotary Corporation. She was a member of Glennville First Baptist Church and the Ladies Church Softball Team.
She is survived by her husband, Ricardo Esquivel of Glennville, Georgia; two daughters, Denise Esquivel and Natasha Esquivel, both of Glennville; one son, Ricky Esquivel of Glennville; her mother, Angelina Cruz of Weslaco, Texas; three sisters: Esperanza Cruz and Angie Cruz, both of Weslaco, Texas, and Nancy Vasquez of California; two brothers, Frankie Cruz and Henry Cruz, both of Weslaco, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, at Carter Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 12, at Glennville First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Keith Rustin and the Rev. Kenny Cowart officiating. Burial will be in Glennville Memorial Gardens.

Josephine Surrency
Josephine Surrency, 84, died Monday, September 9, 2002, at Glenvue Nursing Home. The Tattnall County native was a member of Glennville First Baptist Church, and had taught school in Tattnall and Liberty counties. She was retired from Diamond Elementary School at Ft. Stewart.
She is survived by one sister, Virginia McCurdy of Glennville, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with Bro. Daine Bazemore and the Rev. Keith Rustin officiating. Burial was in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Terry Surrency, Jimmy McCurdy, Robert Surrency, Buddy Bennett, Ken Johnson, Tommy Hilliard, and Joe McCurdy.

Marie Martin
Marie Martin, 82, died Saturday, September 7, 2002, at Elizabeth Adam Crump Manor in Glenn Allen, Virginia. The Pennsylvania native was a resident of Reidsville, Georgia, for 29 years, and was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Martin, of Reidsville. She was a Catholic, and had formerly worked with Grumman in Long Island, New York, and Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, Virginia. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Elaine Martin of Beaverdam, Virginia; and a nephew and his wife, Frank and Pat Decurtis of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, at Cobb Funeral Home, Reidsville Chapel. Burial was in the Reidsville City Cemetery.

Michael Hodovanic
Michael J. Hodovanic, Jr., 82, of Toronto, Ohio, died Monday, September 8, 2003. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, Ohio, and was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Michelle, and a sister, Mary L. Blaschak.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue (Knight) Hodovanic; two sons, Dr. Michael J. Hodovanic III and wife, Betty, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Richard M. Hodovanic and wife, Penny, of East Liverpool, Ohio; three grandchildren: Kelly, Kristen, and Patrick; and two sisters, Ann Gleason and Betty Galaszewski, both of Toronto, Ohio.
Visitation and funeral liturgy with mass was held Thursday, September 11, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, with Monsignor Kurt Kemd as Celebrant.
Raymond R. Eason
Ramond R. Eason, 57, died Friday afternoon, September 17, 2004, at Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. The Tattnall County native had lived in Chatham County for the past 34 years. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving with the U. S. Army. He was a truck driver, employed with Overnite Transportation, and was a member of Reidsville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Martha Eason, and a brother, Richard Eason.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Emmagene Eason of Garden City; three sons and daughters-in-law: David and Kristen Eason, Lee and Betty Eason, and Robert and Danniel Eason, all of Garden City; three sisters: Lcona Sanders of Lyons, Mary Rewis of Reidsville, and Genneva Stover of Newnan; four brothers: Louis Eason of Collins, Marcus Eason of Newnan, Daniel Eason of Twin City, and Ronald Eason of Vidalia; six grandchildren: Brandon Ray Eason, Patrick Ryan Eason, Joshua Tyler Eason, Macayla Leian Eason, Nicholas James Eason, and Ryan Allen Eason; three step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m Monday, September 20, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Prince and the Rev. Sterling Bargeron officiating. Interment was in Reidsville City Cemetery, with military honors.

Linda S. Dixon
Linda Sue Altman Dixon, 58, died Wednesday, September 24, 2003, in Jacksonville, Florida. She grew up in Glennville, Georgia, and moved to Florida in 1963. She was a housewife and loving mother.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Lykins of Greenfield, Ohio, and Barbara Hendrix of Lake Park, Georgia; two sons, Keith Dixon of Hilliard, Ohio, and David Dixon of Wentzville, Missouri; one brother, Bobby Altman of Richmond, Virginia; and nine grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, at Glennville City Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Keith Rustin.
Pallbearers were Keith Dixon, David Dixon, Brent Kicklighter, Randy Bentley, Lloyd McDonald, and Thomas Carr.
