Constance Alice Waters Wilson, 82, died Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at her daughter’s home under the care of Ogeechee Hospice. The native of England had lived in Glennville, Georgia, since 1945.
She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church, the Glennville United Methodist Church Sunshine Group, a former employee of Mascot Pecan Company, and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Millard Waters and Emmitt Wilson; two sons, Gerald Waters and Ben Waters; and a daughter, Alexis Cox.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and John Eckhart of Glennville; son and daughters-in-law: Fillmore and Cathy Waters and Manor Jane Waters, all of Glennville; and Maxine Waters of Plant City, Florida; one sister, Hetty Goadder of Nottingham, England; six stepsons and spouses: Johnny and Lois Wilson of Richmond Hill; Jackie and Linda Wilson of Rincon; and Ricky and Joy Wilson, Randy and Debra Wilson, Andy and Terri Wilson, and Dennis and Connie Wilson, all of Glennville; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 26, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Bryan officiating. Interment was in Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Phillip Waters, Bryan Cox, Beau Waldrop, Denver Barrow, Toby Wilson, and Steve Kicklighter.
Remembrances can be made to the American Cancer Society or Ogeechee Hospice.

William R. Pearson
William Roy Pearson, Sr., 66, died Saturday, September 27, 2003, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah. The Tattnall County native had lived in Reidsville all of his life. He was employed with Reidsville Electric for 13 years and with the Georgia Forestry Commission for 18 years. He was a member of Reidsville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Billy Pearson, Jr., of Waycross; Dean and Rhonda Pearson of Reidsville; and Russell and Wendy Pearson of Glennville; one sister, Deanna Guy of Texas; three grandchildren: Ashley Pearson, Amber Pearson, and Taylor Pearson; one step-granddaughter, Cory Dasher; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 29, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sterling Bargeron officiating. Interment followed in Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jan Baker, Robert Hughes, Claude Dixon, Keith Stanfield, Emory Pearce, and Larry Ray.

Joan P. Thompson
Joan P. Thompson, 65, died Sunday, October 2, 2005, at her residence under the care of Ogeechee Hospice. She was a lifelong resident of Tattnall County, a retired restaurant owner and operator, and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Thompson, and husband, Ernest Pete Thompson.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Melody and William Bargeron of Reidsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Ernie and Becky Thompson of Glennville and Michael Doy and Sharon Thompson of Reidsville; sisters, Jackie Oliver of Vidalia and Joyce Padgett and Gloria Major of Reidsville; brothers, Jerry E. Padgett of Reidsville, Edwin Padgett of Eastman, and Johnny Padgett of Eden; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville chapel, with the Rev. Toby Skrine officiating. Burial was in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Howard, Bryant Oliver, Ashley Padgett, Joel Thompson, Charles Bashlor, and Tony Lewis.

Jeanette Sikes
Jeanette McLeod Sikes, 62, died Friday, September 30, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. The Tattnall County native had lived in Reidsville all her life. She was a homemaker, and a member of Pineview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Leila McLeod, and a son, Jimmy Sikes.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Rivera of Reidsville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Paula Fuller of Vidalia, Sybil and James Maund of Sapelo Island, and Brenda and Leland Beecher of Ludowici; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dean H. and Karen McLeod and Ronnie and Lynn McLeod, all of Reidsville; grandsons, Travis and Trey Rogers; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 3, at Carter Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Brian Patrick and the Rev. Jessie Browning officiating. Burial was in Pineview Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Sands, Keith McLeod, Terry Beecher, Brian Fuller, Kennon Tatum, and Lonnie Harrelson.

Sybble W. Rogers
Sybble W. Rogers, 89, died Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at Glenvue Nursing Home in Glennville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ulysess Rogers, and son, Thomas Ed. Rogers.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John U. and Nancy Rogers; two grandsons, James E. Rogers and wife, Angela, and Walter D. Rogers and wife, Jonana; three great-grandchildren: Kelsey, Karson, and Mitch Rogers; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 30, at Antioch Baptist Church in Evans County, with the Rev. Kenny Edwards and the Rev. Bobby Brinkley officiating. Burial was in Bull Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Evans County.

Harold M. Rhoden
Harold M. Rhoden, 73, of Lyons died at his residence on Monday, October 3, 2005, after a short illness. He was a native of Ft. Pierce, Florida, and moved to Lyons in 1945. He was a reporter for the Atlanta Constitution, and a 50-year member of the local Lions Club. He was a graduate of The University of Georgia (UGA), editor of the Red and Black University of Georgia Paper, a member of the Gridiron Secret Society of UGA, an active member of the Merchants Association of Lyons, and also received the Citizen of the Year Award in 1990 for Lyons, Georgia. He was captain of the Lyons High School football team in 1948. He was noted to be the first Eagle Scout of Lyons, and the second Eagle Scout of Toombs County. He was the originator of the Soap Box Derby in Lyons, editor of the Lyons Progress from 1957 through 1989, a longtime supporter of the Lyons and Toombs County High School Athletic Program, and a member of Lyons First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Rhoden of Lyons; two sons, Mark Rhoden and his wife, Linda, of Byron, Georgia, and Lester Rhoden of Lyons; a daughter, Luanne Holton and her husband, Philip, of Roebuck, South Carolina; and four grandchildren: James Rhoden, John Rhoden, Rebecca Rhoden, and Annie Holton.
Family will receive friends at the Jones-Stewart Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 5, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 6, from the chapel of Jones-Stewart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dannie Williams officiating. Interment will be in Lyons City Cemetery.

Martha Ray
Martha Jones Ray, 78, died Thursday, September 29, 2005, at her residence under the care of Ogeechee Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived all her life on the family farm. She retired with 23 years' service as a cashier with Flash Foods Corporation. She was a member of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Ray Bradley, and a son, Danny O. Ray.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Lamone and Janie Ray and Reginald and Mary Catherine Ray, all of Reidsville; a son-in-law, Frank Bradley of Reidsville; a sister, Pearl Durrence of Glennville; nine grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 2, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville chapel, with the Rev. Jesse Browning officiating. Burial was in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Cathy Laughter
Cathy Moody Laughter, 57, of Jesup, died Thursday, September 22, 2005, after an extended illness. The Long County native had lived in Wayne County for the past 35 years, was a former LPN with Sunbridge Health Care, and was a Baptist.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Emma and Mike Westberry and Hope and Denny Dent, both of Jesup; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Amy Laughter of North Augusta, South Carolina, and Joseph and Lisa Laughter of Waynesville; her parents, Remer and Billie Moody of Ludowici; one sister, Gwen Tracy of Brunswick; two brothers, William Moody of McDonough and Randy Moody of Ludowici; three grandchildren: Lori Westberry, Kyle Westberry, and Jesse Laughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 24, from Parkway Church of God, with the Rev. Frank Gupton officiating. Interment was in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.

Barbara Lanier
Barbara Ann Lanier, 32, died Saturday, October 1, 2005, at Twin View Healthcare in Twin City. The Liberty County native had lived in Glennville most of her life, moving to Twin City eight years ago.
She is survived by her mother, Sally Lanier Oliver of Collins; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home. Interment was in Collins Baptist Church Cemetery.

Rollie Jordan, Sr.
Rollie Jordan, Sr., died September 24, 2005, at Appling Health Care System in Baxley, Georgia. He was born August 8, 1923, in Tattnall County to the late William and Lilla Clark Jordan. He attended Tattnall County public schools. He lived in Lakewood, New Jersey, for over 20 years. He retired from the Lakewood school system after 20 years of dedicated service. After retirement from the school system, he moved back to Glennville where he had a lawn service until 2001. He was preceded in death by his sons, Lewis Jordan and Harry Simmons.
He is survived by Jewel (William) Asberry of Scottsville, New York; Rollie Jordan, Jr. (Marilyn) of Ewing, New Jersey; Michelle, Johnny, Christine, Mary, and Joseph Bartley of Glennville; one sister, Janie Jinks (Eddie) of Glennville; two sisters-in-law, Sally Jordan (Lucuis of Glennville and Emma Lee Jordan (Wilt) of Lakewood, New Jersey; one brother-in-law, Charles F. Tillman, Sr. (Rebecca) of Arlington, Virginia; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 1, at First African Baptist Church in Glennville, with Pastor Martin Bacon officiating.

Lula Ruth Kennedy Hughes, 72, died Friday, September 30, 2005, at Candler Hospital in Savannah after a brief illness. The Long County native was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, working in Wayne County Hospital, Wayne County Nursing Home, and Glenvue Nursing Home. She was a member of Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, C. C. Hughes, Sr., of Glennville; a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Tony Marcinkevich of Kingsland; sons and daughter-in-law, Greg and Merle Hughes of Gum Branch and C. C. Hughes, Jr., of Hinesville; sisters and brother-in-law, Edwina and Lonnie Skeens and Brenda Smiley, all of Glennville; a brother, Jack Kennedy of Glennville; grandchildren: Dale Marcinkevich, Blake Hughes, and Kaitlin Hughes; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 2, at Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Reuben Cason officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Ashleah Taylor Hall, 2, died Saturday, September 24, 2005, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
She is survived by her mother and father, Jennifer and Michael Hall, and a sister, Kailyn Hall, all of Ludowici; her grandparents and great-grandparents, Connie and Walt McGhee of Lakeland, Florida; Harriet and Robert Smith of Ludowici; Doris and Donald Floyd of Hazlehurst; Carolyn and Tony Henrique of Darien; Freddie and Kim Hall of Ludowici; Toy and Ruth Geiger of Glennville; Ann May of Jesup; and Milodean and Jimmy Davis and special Uncle Tyler Hall, all of Ludowici.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 1, at Jones Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eric Rentz officiating. Burial was in Jones Creek Baptist Church Memorial Gardens.
