Lesley Ann Humphries
Lesley Ann Humphries, infant, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. She was born September 28, 2004.
She is survived by her parents, Adam Humphries and Heather Owens, and a twin sister, Jayme Lynn Humphries, all of Glennville; and grandparents, Robert and Cheryl Owens of Savannah and Terry "Ted” and Melita Humprhies of Glennville.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 30, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah.
Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home in Savannah, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements.
Howard W. Dubberly
Howard William Dubberly died Thursday, October 21, 2004, from heart failure at the VA hospital in Gainesville, Florida. He was born in Glennville, Georgia, in 1922. He resided there until he joined the Armed Forces. He served in the Army, Navy, and the Merchant Marines. He was a World War II veteran. He moved to Gainesville in 1949 and has been a resident since then. He retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital after serving the government over 30 years. He was a former member of the local Moose Lodge and a member of the local chapter of the VFW. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a Gator fan, and occasionally followed the Georgia Bulldogs.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Keene Dubberly; his only son, Dale Dubberly, and his wife, Terrye Dubberly; his two granddaughters, Kacie Lee and Kerrie Lynn Dubberly; three sisters: Hazel Kicklighter of Glennville; Sybil Atterbury of Fort Myers, Florida; and Vondell Strickland of Gainesville, Florida.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 23, at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home in Gainesville.
Pallbearers were nephews: Gene Dubberly, Mike Dubberly, Ryan Dubberly, Delvis Dutton, Stacy Dutton, Bill Kicklighter, Don Kicklighter, and Jimmy Strickland.
Wardley C. Cain
Wardley C. Cain, 92, died Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at Glenvue Nursing Home. He was a Clay County, Florida, native, living in Miami for many years, moving to Glennville 30 years ago. He was retired from Aro-Dex in Miami as an Aircraft Mechanic, and was a member of Philadelphia Lodge #73. He received his 50-year pin from the Grand Lodge of Georgia, was a member of Alee Shrine Temple, and a member of the Tattnall Shrine Club. He served on the Canoochee Electric Membership Board, and was a member of Little Rock Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Cain of Glennville; stepsons and stepdaughter-in-law, C. J. and Margie Roberson of Foley, Alabama, and Augustus Daniel of Sanford, Florida; two grandsons; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 30, at Carter Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Gabe Gill and the Rev. Jimmy Bargeron officiating. Burial was in Grace Baptist Church Cemetery, with Masonic Rites.
Pallbearers were members of Philadelphia Lodge #73.

JoAnn Berge
JoAnn Linda Walker Berge, 50, died Sunday, October 31, 2004, at her residence. The Folkston, Georgia, native was a Corporate Secretary and Treasurer for Berge and Hiatt Construction.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce L. Berge of Guyton; sons and daughters-in-law: Richard and Melissa Shearouse of Guyton and Brian and Dana Shearouse of Rincon; nine grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Issac Jesse and Patsy Walker of Bloomingdale; and two stepchildren, Daun Renee Berge and Gary Coke of Iowa and Brian Jacob and Stacy Berge of Omaha, Nebraska.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, at Garden City United Methodist Church.

James Warren, Sr.
Elder James Estus Warren, Sr., of Baxley, 81, died Thursday, October 28, 2004, at his residence after a short illness. He was a native of Evans County, but had lived in Appling County for the past 51 years. He was a member of Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church in Evans County. He was retired from Nabisco. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, and past president of Baxley Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Purcell Warren of Baxley; two daughters, Debra (Julian) Lightsey of Cumming and Kathy Warren and a special friend, Janice Sellers, of Baxley; one son, Jimmy (Laurel) Warren of Baxley; two sisters, Mary Lou Oliver of Birmingham, Alabama, and Ina Collins of Reidsville; one brother, Raleigh Warren of Baxley; three grandchildren: Sarah Warren, Hannah Warren, and Matthew warren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 30, at the chapel of Swain Funeral Home. Interment was in Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Glennville, with no Committal Service, officiated by Elder Elton DeLoach.
Pallbearers were Wayman Parker, Jason Parker, Brandon Parker, Perry Collins, Jasper Tomberlin, Matthew Warren, Chris Hutto, and Larry Knight.

Ruth P. Durrence
Ruth P. Durrence, 91, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004, at Tattnall Community Hospital. She was a lifelong native of Tattnall County, a farmer, a homemaker, and a member of Harmony United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marcus L. Durrence, and a grandson, Steve Durrence.
She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Claudette Haddock and Marklyn and McCoy Durrence, all of Jacksonville, Florida; sons and daughters-in-law, Marquette and Joan Durrence of Glennville and Durwood C. and Lavon Durrence of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Anna Lou Mattox of Glennville; ten grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 29, at Harmony United Methodist Church, with the Rev. G. Truett Leveritt officiating. Burial was in Love’s Chapel Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jason Durrence, Allen Derbecker, Calvin Durrence, Robbie Holland, Derick Parks, and Bobby Sands.

Dorothy Lawson
Dorothy Helen Lawson, 92, died Friday, November 1, 2002, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton, Georgia. The Washington State native had lived in Glennville, Georgia, for the past 22 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lawson, and grandson, David A. Lawson.
She is survived by one daughter, Rae Malagiero of Glennville; one son and daughter-in-law, Russell Allen and Glenda Lawson of Laurel Hill, Florida; grandchildren: Scott and Helen Lawson of Suwanee; Glenn Lawson of Laurel Hill, Florida; Michael and Sunshine Malagiero of Cape Canaveral, Florida; and Megan and Tim Patenaude of Merritt Island, Florida; and one great-grandchild, Aaron Patenaude of Merritt Island, Florida.
Funeral services were private.

John Wilcher
John W. Wilcher, 78, died Saturday, November 2, 2002, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton, Georgia. The Emanuel County native had lived in Glennville, Georgia, 11 years, and was a former truck driver.
He is survived by a friend, Erma McGlashan of Glennville; two daughters, Dorothy Brigman of Iowa and Billie Atkinson of Texas; one sister, Della Landing of Savannah, Georgia; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, November 4, at 11 a.m. at Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Gregg Usry officiating.
Pallbearers were Ricky Anderson, Justin Anderson, Danny Holiday, Johnny McGillis, Eric Bacon, and Ellis Collins.

Martha Morris
Martha Snipes Randall Morris, 82, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. The Schley County native was a former resident of Glennville, Georgia, and had lived at Pine Harbor for many years. She was a 1940 graduate of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. She was a former dental hygienist, and bookkeeper and case worker with the Tattnall County Department of Family and Children Services.
She was a member of Morgan’s Chapel Methodist Church in Eulonia, where she served as treasurer for ten years, and was active in the Women’s Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by Dr. Foy Clifford Randall, Jr., and Clide Morris.
She is survived by one daughter, Denise Randall Smith of Beaufort, South Carolina; four sons and daughters-in-law: Clifford and Jane Randall of Reidsville, Georgia; Allen and Valarie Randall and Wayne and Cathy Randall of Claxton, Georgia; and Darrie and Sharlene Randall of Glennville; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 31, at 2 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with Dr. Charles Strickland officiating. Burial was at Shell Point in McIntosh County.
Pallbearers were Al Randall, Jr.; Foy Randall; Clayton Randall; Travis Randall; Jarad Randall; Dr. Samuel Adams; Brian Durrence; and Dr. Keith Cobb.

Cindy Driggers
Cindy Driggers, 43, died Wednesday, November 9, 2005. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville all her life. She was a beautician, floral designer, assisted with pageants, and attended Pigott Branch Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Randall Driggers.
She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Crystal Crummey and Brandon Crummey, all of Glennville; a granddaughter, Lily Crummey of Glennville; parents, Sarah and Adrian Nease of Glennville; a sister, Wendy Redd of Glennville; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 14, at Carter Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. James Holland and the Rev. Mark Summers officiating. Burial was in Watermelon Creek Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Howard, Robert Cheek, Andy Cheek, Jay Durrence, Randy Cheek, and Simmie Driggers, Jr.

Winton Futch
Winton Futch, 64, died November 10, 2005. He was born February 1, 1941, in Tattnall County, Georgia. He attended Tattnall County Schools at an early age. He joined First African Baptist Church where he served faithfully on the Usher Board. He worked at Glennville Head Start. He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mae Futch, and a brother.
He is survived by one sister, Doris Futch of Glennville; one nephew, Tederell Chris (Dr. Monica) Johnson of Augusta; two nieces, Nicole (Kenny) Jones of Augusta and Annette (Ronald) Harvey of Glennville; four great-nieces; four great-nephews; and several cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 12, at First African Baptist Church, with the Rev. Martin Bacon presiding. Interment was in Glennville City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were the Sycamore Gang.
Honorary pallbearers were Tony DeLoach, Deacon Jessie Rhodes, Mack Hall, and Deacons of First African Baptist Church.
