Adrian Long
Adrian "Slim" Long, 72, died Monday, November 20, 2000, after a long illness at Coastal Manor Nursing Home. He was a native and lifelong resident of Liberty County, and was retired from the Liberty County Sheriff's Department and the Georgia Department of Revenue after 20 years of service. He also was a farmer. He was a member of the Peace Officers Association and the Cross Road Hunting Club. He attended Liberty Baptist Church, Bradwell Institute, and the Police Academy in Brunswick.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Long; one son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Lisa Long; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lyn and Joey Keel and Cathy and Randy Gordon, all of Hinesville; a brother, Max Long of Knoxville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 22, at 2 p.m. at Gum Branch Baptist Church, with Pastors Roger Wilkins, Tom Sollosi, and Bobby Brinkley officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tom Smith, Miles Groover, Harry Groover, Lindell Groover, Marty Adams, and Donald Giddens.
Honorary pallbearers were law enforcement personnel: Bobby Sikes, Tracy Groover, Lindell Groover, Lynn Todd, and Eddie Walden.
Remembrances can be made to the Gum Branch Baptist Church Building Fund or Ella Grove Baptist Church in Glennville.

Daniel Mock
Daniel "Danny" E. Mock, 41, died Saturday, December 2, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a native of Chatham County and had lived in Atlanta for the past 20 years. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Savannah, but attended Roswell United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Georgia State University, and a 17-year employee of Kroger, most recently working in the Human Resources Department in Zone M. He was well known for his charitable work in the Atlanta area, especially the Scottish Rite Children's Medical Center.
He is survived by his parents, Edsel and Shirley (Branch) Mock of Savannah; five aunts; two uncles; six great-aunts; one great-uncle; and one great-great aunt.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 4, at 2 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home Glennville Chapel, with the Rev. Nathan Godley officiating. Burial was in Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Keith Branch, Archie Branch, Frank Braley, Jimmy Pate, Chris Clark, Jared Clark, Thomas Johnston, and Edward Walker.
Kroger employees served as honorary pallbearers.

Susie Holland
Susie Kate Morris Holland, 68, died November 12, 2002, at St. Frances Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. The Evans County native had resided in Charleston, South Carolina, for the past 36 years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Charleston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Holland.
She is survived by her mother, Thelma Morris of Claxton, Georgia; one son and daughter-in-law, Nickey and Vickie Holland of Wisconsin; one daughter and son-in-law, Johnna and Brad Mixson of Charleston; one sister, Barbara Roberts of Glennville, Georgia; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home in Claxton. Burial was in Brewton Cemetery in Hagan, Georgia.

Alice Lasko
Alice Frances Lasko, 88, died Sunday, November 24, 2002, at Glenvue Nursing Home in Glennville, Georgia. The Bakersville, Florida native had lived in Citra, Florida, for many years, moving to Claxton and Glennville several years ago. She was a retired seamstress, and a Catholic.
She is survived by five sisters and a brother-in-law: Mellanie and John Nott of Claxton; Margaret Fox of Orange City, Florida; Lois Toutchon of Palm Coast, Florida; Alieen Ashton of St. Augustine, Florida; and Beatrice McGawon of Somerset, Kentucky; a favorite niece, Ann Ashton of Katy, Texas; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial were private.

Marion Lewis
Marion Brown Lewis, 79, died Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton, Georgia. The Tattnall County native had lived in Sylvania, Augusta, and Glennville, Georgia, while managing several A&P grocery stores in this area. He was a 1940 graduate of Glennville High School, and a Korean War veteran.
He is survived by two sisters, Nancy Hood of Roswell and Nell Lewis Mason of Hinesville; four brothers: Gene Lewis and John S. Lewis of Glennville; Joe H. Lewis of Valdosta; and Oldin V. Lewis of Young Harris, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 21, at Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Knight officiating.

Lucian Terrell
Lucian Earl Terrell, 71, stepped into the gates of glory November 21, 2002, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. The Toombs County native had lived in Florida for the past 50 years. He was a Methodist, and a retired mattress maker.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Y. Terrell of Glen St. Mary, Florida; sons and daughters-in-law: Leland and Connie Terrell of Sanderson, Florida; Rayford and Glenda Terrell of Glen St. Mary, Florida; Ronnie and Cindy Terrell of Macclenny, Florida; and the Rev. Ernest and Donna Terrell of Macclenny, Florida; sisters: Doris McCullough and Barbara White, both of Pooler; brothers Jack Terrell of Glennville, Georgia; Theron Terrell and Reginald Terrell of Savannah; and Dewey Terrell of Faulkville; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 24, at 2 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, conducted by the Rev. James Scott and the Rev. Ernest Terrell. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.

Onell M. Smith
Onell M. Smith, 87, died Sunday, November 28, 2004, at her residence at Savannah Square. The Tattnall County native had lived most of her life in Glennville, having moved to Savannah four years ago. She was a member of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church, and a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Jimmy L. and Suzie Smith of The Villages, Florida; Ronald C. and Lucy Smith and Terry S. and Linda Smith, all of Savannah; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with the Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial was in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Smith, Ronnie Durrence, Wilbert Knight, Alan Smith, Billy Knight, and Ron Mobley.

Glenda M. Raley
Glenda Marie Raley, 67, died Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at her residence. The Fulton County native had lived most of her life in Cobb County but had lived in Glennville for the past one and one-half years. She was a retired bookkeeper.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kim R. and Kenny Tarver of Glennville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Tammy Raley of Ringgold and Rick and Kathy Raley of Dallas; her mother, Elizabeth Smith; seven grandchildren: Drew, Katelyn, Amanda, and Jake Tarver, all of Glennville; and Aimee, Tyler, and Hannah Raley; two sisters; and two brothers.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 26, at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens in Powder Springs.

Mary K. Maund
Mary Kirkland Maund, 91, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at Evans Memorial Hospital. The Long County native had lived most of her life in Glennville, and was a member of Glennville First Baptist Church where she was active in the choir. During her working life, she was employed by several local businesses. She had a great love for her family, and everyone truly loved her.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Asa and Annette Maund of Glennville and James and Sybil Maund of Sapelo Island; a nephew, Milton Kicklighter of Buffalo, New York; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-nephew.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 26, conducted by the Rev. Keith Rustin and Bro. Robert Kicklighter. Burial was in Rye Patch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tracy Sands, Michael Sands, Wayne Mobley, Matthew Pearce, David Baxter, and Stacy Howard.

Grace R. Ketterman
Grace R. Ketterman, 71, died Sunday, November 28, 2004, at her residence. The Tattnall County native had lived in Savannah for many years, moving to Reidsville several years ago. She was retired from K-Mart after serving 33 years. She was a member of Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra Ketterman of Savannah; a son, Robert Ketterman of Los Angeles, California; four sisters: Trudie Spikes, Helen Taylor, Louie Rogers, and Betty Thomas, all of Reidsville; one brother, Albert Rooks of Reidsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Gregory Smith. Interment was in Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tom West; Ronnie Rogers; J. E. Spikes; Roy Spikes, Jr.; Enoch Cowart; and Gary Waher.

Windell Johnson
Windell Johnson, 71, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah. The Tattnall County native had lived in Loxahatchee, Florida, before moving back to Collins 35 years ago. The U. S. Navy veteran served in the Korean Conflict while stationed on the USS Wisconsin BB-64. He was retired from Georgia Pacific. He was a member of the USS Wisconsin Association, and the Collins Full Gospel Tabernacle. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lessie Johnson; a son, Wayne Johnson; a brother, George L. Johnson; and sisters: Miner Sparks, Vaska Lee Johnson, and Sula Oliver.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anna Laura Jarriel Johnson of Collins; four daughters and sons-in-law: Patricia and Dennis Thompson and Debra and Danny Ray Collins, all of Cobbtown; Katherine and Todd Gromes of Claxton; and Lavonna and Richard Drawdy of Waynesboro; one son, Samuel Johnson of Collins; four sisters: Onida Oliver, Cora Cobb, Bonnell Youmans, and Faye Screen, all of Collins; one brother, Elvin Johnson of Collins; 18 grandchildren: Charity Hill, Adam Thompson, Paul Thompson, Sarah Thompson, Shannon Royal, Natasha Bashlor, Jennifer Johnson, DeWayne Collins, Hannah Collins, Lori Williams, Ashley Todd, Michelle Daley, Jennifer Drawdy, Jessica Drawdy, DeAnna Hudson, Blake Johnson, Alexis Johnson, and Ethan Johnson; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 27, in the chapel of the funeral home, with the Rev. Andrew Nelms officiating. Interment was in Little Flock Church Cemetery in Collins.
