Rev. James Reddish
The Rev. James Paul "Jim" Reddish, Sr., 76, of Folkston died December 1, 2005, at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Airborne Paratroopers. He was a member of the VFW and DAV. He was a member of Thomas Creek Baptist Church. He pastored a number of churches in North Florida and South Georgia. His parents were the late Paul and Bessie Todd Reddish. He was preceded in death by a son, James Paul "Little Jim" Reddish, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Reddish of Folkston; two sons, Joe (Michele) Reddish of Folkston and Junior (Wilma) Reddish of Glennville; a daughter, Minnie (Marvin) Rowell of St. Augustine, Florida; two brothers, the Rev. Charles (Marodean) Reddish of Jacksonville and Eugene Reddish of Augusta; a sister, Mae Longino of Hazlehurst; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, December 5, 2005 at the Shepard Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Doug Harris officiating. Burial was in Sardis Cemetery. Pallbearers were F. L. Murray, Mike Foreman, Calvin Johnson, Leon Johnson, Roger Williams, and Tommy Hatcher.

Ralph Tippins
J Ralph Tippins died Sunday, December 11, 2005, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Candler Hospital in Savannah after a short illness. He was born January 16, 1958, in Liberty County to Lillie Mae Tippins and the late James W. Tippins, Sr., of Glennville. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lawanda Berry.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth of Claxton; six daughters: Aliene, Christine, Kera, Becky, Glenece, and Francis; and one son, Nicholas; his mother, Lillie Mae Tippins of Glennville; five brothers: James Tippins, Jr., (Brenda) and Joel Pippins (Carmoleta) of Hinesville, Robert Tippins (Kassie) of Glennville, Bill Tippins (May) of Augusta, and Glenn Tippins of Stuart, Florida; and four sisters: Shirline Perry of Augusta and Barbara Lisbon, Lisa Davis (John), and Stephanie Thomas (Rickey), all of Glennville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, at First African Baptist Church in Glennville.
Randy Miller
Randy Miller II, 20, died Saturday, November 16, 2002, at Tattnall Community Hospital. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville, Georgia, all of his life. He was a 2001 Honor Graduate, and a member of the Ft. Stewart Youth Bowling League. He was employed at Papa’s Pizza in Glennville, Georgia.
He is survived by his mother and father, Cindy and Tommy Boneschans of Glennville; two brothers, Tommy Boneschans and Brent Boneschans of Glennville; his maternal grandmother, Shirley Lynn of Glennville; his grandparents, Fred and Hilda Thomas of Hinesville, Georgia; a special aunt, Evelyn Lynn of Glennville; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at Carter Funeral Chapel in Glennville, with the Rev. Van Power officiating. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brandon Stanfield, Brian Nelson, Fred MacSorley, David Righter, John Craig, and Jason Cunningham.

"Johnny" Maddox
John Edward “Johnny” Maddox, 77, of Gainesville, Georgia, died Thursday, November 14, 2002, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, following a sudden illness. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, where he had lived most of his life, living in Gainesville for the last three years. He was a retired electrical supplier with over 40 years’ service. He was a Shriner for over 20 years, and a member of St. Bedes Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Adeline Stanfield Maddox, formerly of Glennville, Georgia; two daughters, Linda Hulsey of Royston and Tina Sager of Lithonia; one son, Mark Maddox of Lilburn; one stepdaughter, Cindy Holladay of Dothan, Alabama; one sister, Mildred Ozier of Lithonia; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 17, at 1:30 p.m. in the Little-Davenport Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Doug Dailey officiating.

Dorothy H. Boyd
Dorothy H. Boyd, 70, died Thursday, November 14, 2002, at Glenvue Nursing Home in Glennville, Georgia. The Bryan County native was a former resident of Claxton, Georgia, and Reidsville, Georgia. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Faye Lowe of St. Augustine, Florida; four sons: Robert Boyd of Springfield; Donald Boyd of Advance, North Carolina; Reginald Boyd of Claxton; and Charlie Boyd of Reidsville; one brother, Bob Hodges of Florida; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 17, at Cobb Funeral Home, Reidsville Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Tom Elliott. Burial was in Brewton Cemetery in Hagan, Georgia.
Pallbearers were Robert Boyd, Glen Boyd, Dennis Barnard, Jimmy Leggett, John Lowe, and Randall Gosorth.

Audrey Williams
Audrey DeLoach Williams, 51, died Saturday, November 13, 2004, at the Medical College of Georgia. She was born November 16, 1952, in Long County, the daughter of Mildred Swindell DeLoach Blocker and the late Willie DeLoach. She had resided in Hephzibah for the past 28 years and was formerly from Glennville. She was a 1970 graduate of Ludowici High School, and was retired from the Eisenhower Army Medical Center, following 20 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith, but attended Friendship United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Williams.
She is survived by her children, Brooke and Jeremy McManus and Jennifer and Jeremy Hudson, all of Hephzibah; her mother, Mildred Blocker of Glennville; two sisters, Winifred Walker of New Philadelphia, Ohio, and Janet Foster of Glennville; three brothers: Ronald DeLoach, Sr., Willie DeLoach, and Gerald Blocker, all of Glennville; and four grandsons and one granddaughter, all of Hephzibah.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, in the Hephzibah chapel of DeLoach Kennedy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Oliver officiating. Graveside interment services were held at 4:30 p.m. in the DeLoach Family Cemetery on Hwy. 144 in Glennville.

Malcolm "Sam" Whitfield
Malcolm “Sam” Whitfield, 87, died Friday, November 12, 2004, at Tattnall Community Hospital. The Chattooga County native had lived in Savannah for many years, moving to Tattnall County 24 years ago. He was retired from Dyches Construction Company, a World War II veteran, a member of VFW Post #660, and a member of Elza Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Whitfield of Reidsville; sons and daughter-in law, Charles and Susan Whitfield of Savannah and Glenn Whitfield of Hardeeville, South Carolina; daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Danny Cronk and Linda and Stewart Broom, all of Savannah; stepchildren: Charles and Betty Flowers and David Flowers, Jr., of Reidsville; June Moser of Ellabell; Joyce and Johnny Roberson of Ludowici; Emory and Ronnie Flowers of Savannah; Wayne Flowers of Augusta; and Wade Flowers of Brooklet; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 15, at Poplar Head Church, with the Rev. Robert Ferrell officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Trey Broom, Walter Anderson, Gary Roberson, Brian Anderson, Johnny Roberson, and Charles Anderson.

James E. Poole
James Everett Poole, 89, died Friday, November 12, 2004, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, Missouri. The Wilkes County native had lived in Tattnall County for many years, moving to Marshall several years ago. He was a retired brick mason, and a member of Stoney Hill Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie D. Padgett Poole.
He is survived by two daughters, Ginny J. Workman of Newport Richey, Florida, and Hazel Rafferty of Marshall, Missouri; three sisters: Mary Jacobs of Orange City, Florida; Vera Godwin of Glennville, Georgia; and Imorence Frambo of Leesburg, Florida; three grandsons; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, at Carter Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Harris Nix officiating. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Theron Padgett, David Dinkins, Wayne Padgett, Danny Dinkins, Timmy O’Quinn, and Aubrey Durrence.

Joe Smith
Joe Smith, 78, died Monday, November 8, 2004, under the care of Ogeechee Hospice. He was born October 28, 1926, in Roanoke, Alabama, the son of Gentle Smith and Lizzie Levette Smith. He moved to Glennville as a young adult. He worked in forestry until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Phillips Smith, and his daughter, Helen Smith Miller.
He is survived by two daughters, Annie Mae Miller Felder of Miami, Florida, and Joan Smith of Vogelweh, Germany; a brother, Horace Smith of Aniston, Alabama; five sisters: Mittie Mayfield and Princess Smith, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; Clara Walker and Julie Smith Miles, both of Bronx, New York; and Beatrice Rolands of Roanoke, Alabama; grandsons, Gerald C. Pervall of Washington, D. C., and Marcus Lea of Roxboro, North Carolina; one granddaughter, Sheila Felder of Miami, Florida; grandchildren: Theone, Deon, Gina, and Eric Grover of Savannah; friends: Max Baxter, Minnie L. Newton, and Nell Armstrong; prayer partner, Rubena Surrency; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 13, at 1 p.m. at Center of Life Fellowship Church in Glennville. Burial was in Ogden Mills Cemetery in Reidsville.
Doris K. Edwards
Doris Knight Edwards, 82, died Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton after a long illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Tattnall County. She was a homemaker, and a member of Smyrna Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Barney Edwards, and her sister, Marjorie Williams.
She is survived by two sons, Rufus “Dub” Edwards of Mendes and Charles Gordon Edwards of Glennville; daughters and sons-in-law: Charlotte and Richard Webb of Hinesville; Carolyn Edwards of Dahlonega; Wanda Swindell, Gail and Jerry Dasher, Patsy and Danny Holliday, Susan and L J. Groover, and Debbie and Mike Moody, all of Glennville; a brother, Graham Knight of Reidsville; four sisters: Willie Jo Dowdy and Barbara Dreggors of Glennville; Mary Sue Hodovanic of Ohio; and Lucy Seltenright of Los Angeles; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 13, at the chapel of Cobb Funeral Home, with the Rev. Edward Brannen, the Rev. Bobby Brinkley, and the Rev. Kenny Edwards officiating. Burial was in Sands Field Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stacey Dasher, J. G. Cannady, Adam Moody, Gene Edwards, Junior Groover, Ty Swindell, Scott Cramer, and Shane Holliday.
