Mary L. Flowers
Mary Lynn Flowers, 63, died Saturday, December 11, 2004, peacefully at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter W. and Fewquay Riner Lynn, and a sister, Anne L. McCullough.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Marlene Flowers of Long County and Jeanette and the Rev. Tommy W. Ray of Glennville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael L. Flowers of Long County and Mark A. and Lisa A. Flowers of Evans; two sisters, Marie L. Kilpatrick of Murphy, North Carolina, and Blanche L. Tanner of Elberton; ten grandchildren: Angel Manning and Adam Manning of Long County; Jason Ray of New Haven, Connecticut; Joshua Ray of Athens; Justin Ray, Jessica Ray, and Jenna Ray, all of Glennville; Amber Flowers Hamilton of Long County; and Mallory Ann Flowers and Murray Elizabeth Flowers of Evans; one great-grandchild, Marissa Cothern.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 13, at Poplar Head Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wilton Ray, Chaplain Brian Butler, and the Rev. Tommy Ray officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Danny Massey, Alan McCullough, Justin Ray, Joshua Ray, Adam Manning, and Michael Jones.

Ival C. Hall
Ival C. Hall, 77, died Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at Glenvue Nursing Home. The Tennessee native had lived in Hinesville since 1960. He was retired from the U. S. Army, and was a retired Civil Service employee.
He is survived by his wife, Shizuko Hall of Hinesville; daughters and son-in-law, Jessie and Ron Basso of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Camille Merritt of Hinesville; and Debra Walker of Richmond, Virginia; one son, Mark J. Hall of Long County; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville chapel, with full military honors.

Elsie B. Williams
Elsie Branch Williams, 83, died early Monday morning, December 13, 2004, at her sister’s residence in Soperton. The Laurens County native had lived in Collins for 40 years. She was a retired nurse, and attended Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Williams of Collins; a stepson, Dan Williams of Collins; one sister, Susie Mae Branch of Soperton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Iris Dubberly
Iris Dubberly, 88, died Tuesday, December 13, 2005, at Candler Hospital. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville most of her life. She was a homemaker, and a member of Glennville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Floyd Williams of Gulf Shores, Alabama; a brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Jean Dubberly of Kingsport, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Chris Barfield of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Noelle Hall of Nashville, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren; three nieces; and two nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 17, at Glennville United Methodist Church, with Dr. Richard Cabbage and the Rev. Vance Riggins officiating. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chris Barfield, Wayne Sutton, Ronnie Brett, David Smith, Buddy Lott, and Daniel Smith.

Samuel Green
Samuel "Sam" O. Green, 63 died Saturday, December 17, 2005, at his residence. The Oregon State native was a member of Ellabel First United Methodist Church and Dayspring Emmaus. He was retired after 21 years of service from the U. S. Army, having served two tours in Vietnam. He received a Bronze Star Medal, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and numerous other awards. He was a member of Sagamihara Japan Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Verle Green, and sisters, Ava Thompson and Marilyn Green.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Jill and Roger Phillips, Karla and Shane Hendrix, and Cara and Mike Lewis, all of Glennville; a son, Kendell Green of Savannah; brothers, Tom Green of Los Gados, California, and Kelly Green of New York; and grandchildren: Tonda and Kenny Durrence; Charles Bowen; Will, Walt, and Waylon Hendrix; Alex Phillips, and Nicole Phillips.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 19, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville chapel, with the Rev. Keith Rustin officiating. Burial was in Battle Creek Church Cemetery, with full military honors.
Pallbearers were Joe Brewton, Russell T. Waters, Eddie Dasher, David Holland, Mike Holland, and Vernon Dasher, Jr.

Eller M. Williams
Eller M. Williams, 81, died Wednesday morning, December 14, 2005, at Tattnall Community Hospital. The Sylvania native had lived in Bloomingdale many years, moving to Reidsville five years ago. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Ida M. and George Shaver, Jr., of Egypt, Georgia, and Delorise Ann Ayers of Bloomingdale; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bishop Earnest and Gloria Jenkins and Alton D. Jenkins, all of Reidsville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 16, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home.

Clayton Oliver
Clayton Duvon Oliver, 10, died Tuesday, December 10, 2002, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a member of Glennville First Baptist Church where he was a member of Mark Dasher’s Sunday School Class and was active in the children’s choir. He was a fourth grade student at Pinewood Christian Academy.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, M. D. and Edith Waters.
He is survived by his parents, Paul and Lisa Oliver of Glennville, Georgia; one brother, Clint Oliver of Glennville; his grandparents, Clinton and Mary Frances Oliver of Glennville; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 14, in the Pinewood Christian Academy gymnasium. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Terry Waters, Horace Waters, Jack Waters, Bert Oliver, Hamp Oliver, and David Oliver.
Honorary pallbearers were students and their parents of Debbie Dutton’s and Susan Winters’ fourth grade classes at Pinewood Christian Academy.

Bobby O'Neal
Valerie Oliver Waters, 79, died Saturday, December 7, 2002, at Glenvue Nursing Home in Glennville, Georgia. She was a lifelong resident of Tattnall County, and a member of Love’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, and a loving mother.
She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Glenda and Louis Geiger and Rhonda Waters of Glennville; one son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Susan Waters of Glennville; one brother, Theron Oliver of Hinesville, Georgia; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 10, at 11 a.m. at Love’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder W. H. Durrence officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Oliver, Brian Blocker, Richie Waters, Rafe Waters, Bruce Oliver, and Greg Lewis.

Clara Driggers
Clara Blocker Driggers, 57, died Monday, December 20, 2004, at Memorial Health University Medical Center. The Long County native was a 1965 graduate of Ludowici High School, and had lived in Tattnall County since 1971. She was a member of Pigot Branch Baptist Church, and attended Little Rock Baptist Church. She was a former Civil Service employee, and retired from Winn Army Hospital. She was a personal studio assistant at Tammy Driggers Photography, Inc., since 1998, and was an avid collector of cookbooks, coins, and foreign currency.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Larry W. Driggers, and her parents, Hart and Vynona Blocker.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Ernie Cowart of Glennville; one sister and brother-in-law, Monceil and Gene Jackson of Ludowici; one brother, Garnold Blocker of Ludowici; one sister-in-law, Mildred DeLoach Blocker of Glennville; her father-in-law, Hugh Driggers of Glennville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, at Cobb Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Posey officiating. Burial was in Pigot Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sue Nell Wells
Sue Nell Ray Wells, 76, died Monday, December 20, 2004, at Tattnall Community Hospital. The Tattnall County native was a former restaurant operator, and owner of The Puppy Farm Kennel. She was a member of First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hugh E. Ray and James E. Wells.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Talmadge and Sandra Ray and Richard and Wendy Ray, all of Glennville; and Wade and Cheryl Ray of Cottageville, South Carolina; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 23, at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Tommy Ray and the Rev. Wilton Ray. Burial will be in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Trey Parrish, Chris Wilson, Johnny Sapp, Mike Hall, Benjie Ray, Tony Sapp, and Tylor Sapp.
