Jesse Talmadge White, 88, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville. The Grady County native had lived in Perry, FL, before moving to Reidsville in 1950. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was the former owner of White’s Auto Service. He was a member of the Reidsville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Foye Lee White of Reidsville; daughters, Jerre White Thomson of Dawsonville and Donnie White Henderson of Columbus; brother, Charles White of Reidsville; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 21, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Reidsville Chapel, with Rev. Dick Patton officiating. Burial followed in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Danny Waller, Jack Henderson, Jr., Bobby Anderson, Billy Eason, Neil Anderson, and Larry Brown.
Honorary pallbearers were C. Brown, Dan Waller, Johnnie Robertson, E.B. Register, Louie Smith, Aubrey Durrence, and Tom Colvin.

Edward E. Anderson, 80
Mr. Edward E. Anderson, 80, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003 a,t his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Evans County native had lived in Tattnall County all of his life. He was a US Navy Veteran and a retired farmer.
He is survived by sister, Winsor A. Smith of Lyons; brother, Robert H. Anderson of Savannah; friend, Jack Heddreck of Collins; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 26, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment followed in the Reidsville City Cemetery.

Juanita “Neat” Norman Collins, 87
Juanita “Neat” Norman Collins, 87, died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at Candler County Hospital. The Tattnall County native was a lifelong resident of Candler County. She was a homemaker, a member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church, an avid cook and seamstress. She was the widow of TJ Collins.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Hilda Collins; daughter and son-in-law, Lora and Ralph Williford; grandson, Peyton Collins; granddaughters, Amy McGlamery all of Cobbtown and April Cameron of Lawrenceville; great-grandchildren, TJ Michael Collins, Jackson McGlamery and Avery Cameron.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at Kennedy-Morgan Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Elder Terry Lynn and Elder John Sheldon Mikell officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jim Reid, Gary Allen, Malcolm Coleman, Elliott Lanier, Tommy Jarriel and Weston Jarriel.

Gerald W. Dasher, 62, died Monday, April 28, 2003, at his residence after a lengthy illness. The Tattnall County native was a member of the Glennville United Methodist Church and former chairman of the Tattnall County Board of Commissioners. He was co-owner of G and R Farms, specializing in growing and marketing Vidalia Sweet onions, tobacco, peanuts, row crops, timber and livestock; chairman of the United Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Association; former member of Governor Zell Miller’s International Board of Industry and Trade; member of the National Onion Association and GA Forestry Association and a former member of the Board of Directors of First Citizens Bank. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter L. and Winnie Fennel Dasher and a brother, Ronald Dasher.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Durrence Dasher of Glennville; daughter and son-in-law, Paige and Mike Mulligan of Glennville; son and daughter-in-law, Walt and Anita Dasher of Glennville; sister and brother-in-law, Lauree and Eugene Kicklighter of Glennville; bothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Debbie Dasher of Glennville and Jackie and Barbara Dasher of Glennville; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at Glennville United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Posey officiating. Burial followed in the Glennville City Cemetery.

Elder Marvin Lewis Jarrell, 75
Elder Marvin Lewis Jarrell, 75, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at Candler Hospital. Born in Toombs County, Elder Jarrell had lived in Garden City for many years. He was the Pastor of the Rome Primitive Baptist Church in Reidsville for the past eleven years and had retired from the Savannah Sugar Refinery. He served his country in the US Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Leona M. Jarrell of Garden City; four daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Kerwin Kilgore of Guyton, Robin and Randy H. Wilson of Garden City, Pat and Roger Gollihue of Garden City, and Jennifer and Jimmy Davis of Savannah; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lew and Shirley Jarrell of Warner Robins, Bennie Miller of Savannah, and Mark and JoAnn Miller of Ladson, SC; sister, Grace Brown of Guyton; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 25, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment followed in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.

Sara Rush Mosley, 61
Sara Rush Mosley, 61, died Friday, April 25, 2003, at Claxton Nursing Home under the care of Ogeechee Hospice. The Appling County native had lived in Bloomington, MN, for eight years prior to returning to Tattnall County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ada Bell and Will Rush of Mendes.
She is survived by her husband, John Mosley of Mendes; three sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 27, 2003, at 3:00 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with Rev. Harris Nix officiating. Burial followed in Mendes Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shane Hendrix, Dean Pearson, Russell Pearson, Danny Prudence, Mark Hendrix, and Bill Smith.

Clarence Earl Ryan, 57
Clarence Earl Ryan, 57, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville from injuries in a motorcycle-auto accident. He was born in Buffalo, NY, living in Maryland and Hinesville for many years moving to Glennville in 1981. He retired from the US Army with the rank of Sergeant First Class, also serving two tours in Vietnam. He was employed with Economic Exterminators and was preceded in death by a brother Donald Moon.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine W. Ryan of Glennville; children, Tim Ryan and Kim Smith of Glennville; sisters, Melissa Thompkins, Clara Lynn Aebi, and Jacqueline Irene Nauton all of Glen Burnie, MD; brothers, James Wesley Ryan of Winter Park, FL, and Frank Louis Ryan of Westminster, MD; grandson, Dylan Ryan Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at Barranco & Sons Funeral Home in Severna Park, MD. Burial was in Crownsville Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD, with full Military Honors.

Dewey H. Ulmer III, 45, died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at Tattnall Community Hospital. The Chatham County native had lived in Tattnall County most of his life. He was employed with Ulmer Drywall and attended the Reidsville Church of God.
He is survived by his son, Chris Ulmer of Reidsville; daughter, Tiffany Rogers of Statesboro; step-daughter, Chrell Johnson of Montgomery County; mother and step-father, Grace and John Tidwell of Reidsville; seven brothers, James Ulmer, Johnny Ulmer, Richard Ulmer, and Wayne Ulmer all of Reidsville, Joey Ulmer of Cobbtown, Michael Tidwell of Guyton, and Billy Tidwell of Reidsville; two sisters, Betty Willis and Peggy Ulmer both of Reidsville; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverends William and Linda Prince officiating. Interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah.

Elliott McGee Cobb, 68
Elliott McGee Cobb, 68, of Cordele, died Sunday, May 4, 2003. The Tattnall County native was a resident of Glennville for a number of years. He was a retired Engineer with the State of Georgia Department of Transportation.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Brannen Cobb of Cordele; three sons, Stephen Cobb, David Cobb and Brian Cobb, all of Cordele; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Lakeshore Baptist Church in Cordele with burial at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Walter Nash Coleman, Jr., 74
Walter Nash Coleman, Jr., 74, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003. He was a native of Glennville living in Folkston for many years. He was a retired Civil Engineer with the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a former Commander of the VFW, a Wagonmaster with the Okefenokee Good Sam’s for eight years and a Wagonmaster with the Golden Isles Good Sam’s for four years. He was U.S. Army, and Korean War Veteran and a member of the Folkston United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Nick Coleman.
He is survived by his wife, Laverne Moody Coleman of Folkston; two daughters, Angela K. Coleman of St. Mary’s and Tamra L. Coleman of North Brunswick, NJ; grandson and wife, Tim and Lisa Crews of Macon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lamont and Madera Moody of Glennville; and sisters-in-law, Loree Miller of Baltimore, MD and Polly Moody of Glennville.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at Glennville City Cemetery.

Bobby Durrence, 72
Bobby Durrence, 72, died Monday, May 5, 2003, at his residence under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Reidsville all of his life. He was a US Army Veteran and was a retired civil service employee. He was also a farmer and a member of Reidsville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtis Vera Oliver Durrence, and a brother, Segal Durrence.
He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Joy and Roger Crews and Kim Durrence all of St. Simons Island; three sisters, Edra Burns of Glennville, Sue Hommel of Wilmington Island, and Reta Watson of Vidalia; three brothers, Swinton Durrence, D.L. Durrence, Jr., and Kenneth Durrence all of Reidsville; two grandchildren, Brandy Crews and Beau Edenfield both of St. Simons Island; special nephew, Rev. Calvin Durrence of Reidsville; special great nephew, Kyle Durrence of Reidsville; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at 4:00 p.m. at the Reidsville Baptist Church with burial in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
