DELORIS "DEE" IRENE PROCTOR
Mrs. Deloris "Dee" Irene Proctor age 48 of Watts Creek Rd. Blairsville passed away on Wednesday Sept. 1, 2010 in the Union General Hospital following a battle with cancer. Dee was born on April 8, 1962 in Flint, MI., the daughter of Norma Davis McMurphy and the late Raymond McMurphy. Dee was a very loving and caring Registered Nursing at Union General Hospital for the past ten years. She was a foster parent to 44 children. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and was a friend to many. Dee was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Surviving Dee are her loving husband of nineteen years, Kevin Proctor of Blairsville, mother, Norma J. McMurphy of Mims, FL, one daughter, Jennifer Jennings of Blairsville, one son, Jacob D. Proctor of Blairsville, six sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Ken Eagle of Titusville, FL, Debra and Leland Greek of Bushnell, FL, Doreen and Gary Belflower of Cocoa, FL, Diane and Edwin Perez of Melbourne, FL, Darlene and Vaughn Foust Sr., of Silver Springs, FL, Deanna and Tony Young of Mims, FL, five brothers and sister-in-laws, Daniel and Heather McMurphy of Mims, FL, Duane and Patricia McMurphy of Titusville, FL, Dennis and Tara McMurphy of Springfield, MO., Donald and Cynthia McMurphy of Mims, FL, Dean and Tracy McMurphy of Shephardsville, KY., several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday Sept. 4, 2010 at 11:00am from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Richard Helms officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Titusville, FL. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church in Blairsville in memory of Dee Proctor. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11am.

WILLIE WALTER MURPHY
Mr. Willie Walter Murphy age 86 of Pat Colwell Rd. Blairsville passed away on Monday Nov. 3, 2008 in the Erlanger Medical Center following injuries received in an automobile accident. Mr. Murphy was born on April 30, 1922 in Cherokee County, NC, the son of the late Luther Murphy and the late Hattie Roberts Murphy. He was a lifelong resident of Union County. Willie was a loving husband, father, step father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved to sing and play the guitar and harmonica. He was a wonderful friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his first wife of sixty years, Minnie Lou Murphy, an infant son, Jerry Murphy, two brothers and six sisters. Mr. Murphy was a member and Deacon of Jones Creek Church of God.
Surviving Mr. Murphy are his loving wife of four years, Doris Bell Murphy of Blairsville, two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Edith Murphy of Blairsville, Bud and Diane Murphy of Blairsville, three step daughters and two sons-in-law, Carol Gray of Blairsville, Brenda and Roy Lynch of Murphy, Michele and Dale Christopher of Graysville, TN., two step sons, Danny and John Mark Payne, both of Blairsville, four grandchildren, Shane, Daniel, Steven and Lydia Murphy, two great grandchildren, Taylor Michelle and Kane Eli Murphy, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday Nov. 6, 2008 from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Terrell Jones and Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Special music will be presented by Tommy Murphy, Sara Wilson and Michele Christopher. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Shane, Steven and Daniel Murphy, Danny Payne, David Stiles and Mike Krigline. Interment will follow in the Providence Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-9pm.

Mrs. Nova Lee Nix age 81 of Gene Nix Rd. Blairsville passed away peacefully on Thursday September 2, 2010 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Nix was born on Nov. 10, 1928 in Hayesville, NC. She was a lifelong resident of Union County. Nova Lee enjoyed canning and gardening. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her special caring and loving parents, Ed and Nelar Alexander, a son, Larry Nix, and a grandson, Dee Gilbert . Mrs. Nix was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Nix are her loving husband of sixty six years, Eugene Nix of Blairsville, three daughters and sons-in-law, Hattie and Arthur Jackson of Young Harris, Linda and Charles Duckworth of Blairsville, Tammy and Steve Rhoten of Blairsville, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Perry Nix of Blairsville, Terry and Helen Nix of Blairsville, one sister Bernice Gibson, four grandchildren, Holly Gilbert, Michelle Dover, Sabrina Lunsford and Chris Nix, two great grandchildren, Casey Dover and Logan Nix, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside services will be held on Friday Sept. 3, 2010 at 2:00pm from the Owl Town Church of God Cemetery with the Rev. Danny White officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Regency Hospice of Hiawassee in memory of Mrs. Nix. The family will meet with friends following the services.

KENT CHRISTOPHER
US Army WWII
Mr. Kent Christopher age 84 of Blairsville passed away on Thursday September 2.2010 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mr. Christopher was born on Nov. 23, 1925 in Lamar County, GA, the son of the late William C. Christopher and the late Laura T. Cooper Christopher. He was a veteran of the US Army of WWII. He had been living in Blairsville since 1979 and had taught school in Fannin County for several years. Mr. Christopher had attended Harmony Grove and Pine Top Baptist Churches.
Surviving Mr. Christopher are one brother, John F. Christopher of Macon, GA, one nephew, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Sept. 8, 2010 at 2:00pm from the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Top Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8pm.

Mary Lou Reich
Mrs. Mary Lou Reich, age 88, of Hiawassee formerly of Hot Springs Village, AR passed away February 5, 2013 in Hayesville at Clay County Care Center following an extended illness. She was born in Dallas County, AR on October 13, 1924 to the late Warren A. and Nora Carter Ramsay. She had lived in this area since 2007. Mrs. Reich was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband John E. Reich, SR and a daughter, Susan Secor.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law John E. and Beth Reich, JR of Blairsville, brother, Jack Ramsay of Bryan, TX, four grandchildren, Sara Secor Fogarty, John M. Reich, Michael Reich and Michelle Reich. Four great-grandchildren also survive.

Gene Dick Seabolt
Gene Dick Seabolt of 166 Eastanollee Bypass Road, Eastanollee, GA, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013, at his residence. Born in Suches, Georgia July 14, 1934 to the late Vandora Seabolt. He was of the Baptist Faith and a retired construction worker that included projects such as the Hartwell Dam and Interstate 85.
Left to cherish his memories are his children Ricky and Betty Berry of Blairsville, Georgia Vivian Cobb of Toccoa, Georgia and Vera Seabolt London of Martin, Georgia; Gina Kendrick of Toccoa, Georgia and Joe Seabolt of Commerce, Georgia, sisters Adell Dills of Dahlonega, Georgia, Corabell Harris of Murrayville, Georgia and Sarah Presley of Murrayville, Georgia, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Dennis Montgomery Moorhead
Mr. Dennis Montgomery Moorhead, age 69, of Honaker Rd, Blairsville passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. He was born February 26, 1943 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Albert E. and Edna Telford Moorhead. He moved to this area 7 years ago from Ft. Myers, FL. Mr. Moorhead was a U.S. Army veteran and served with the Honor Guard for President Kennedy. He was a member of the Blairsville Coin Club, and was an avid Bass Fisherman and bowler. Mr. Moorhead was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved gardening and being outdoors. He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife Jean Moorhead of the home, sons, Michael and Teresa Moorhead and Craig Moorhead both of Ft. Myers, FL, brother, Roy and Sue Moorhead of Ft. Myers, FL, grandchildren, Jessica, Lauren, Rachel and Jake, several nieces and nephews covering the United States.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers make memorial contributions to the Wildlife Federation.

Paige Moore Miller
Mr. Paige Moore Miller, age 93, of Sharp Top Circle, Blairsville passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. He was born September 10, 1919 in Turrell, AR to the late H. C. and Maudie Cook Miller. He had lived in this area since 2007. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran. Mr. Miller was a retired Game Warden with Arkansas Game and Fish. He loved animals, also loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Miller. Mr. Miller was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include sons Gaylord and JoElla Miller of Jacksonville, AR and Carl and Beth Miller of Blairsville, three grandchildren, Todd Miller, Paige Miller and Tara Miller, three great grandchildren, Jessica Miller, John Miller and Shepherd Miller.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, AR with Rev. Steve Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers make memorial contributions to Union County Nursing Home Activities Dept.

Mrs. Ruby Irene Collins age 83 of Blairsville formerly of Clearwater, FL. passed away peacefully on Friday August 5, 2011 at Stoenhenge following an extended illness. Mrs. Collins was born on June 17, 1928 in Greystone, NC, the daughter of the late Leroy Davis and the late Grace Bunn Davis. She retired from the City of Dunedin, FL. after over fifteen years of service. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Collins was a member of New Beginnings Community Church, formerly Sunset Point Baptist Church in Clearwater, FL.
Surviving Mrs. Collins are one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Mick Goebel of Murphy, one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Evelyn Collins Jr. of Orlando, FL, three sisters, Hazel Johnson of Portsmouth, VA, Inez Beilein and Margie Holmes both of Clearwater, FL, one sister-in-law, Arlene Davis of Virginia Beach, VA, one grandson, Eric and Christy of Palm Harbor, FL, two great grandchildren, Chloe and Tyler Collins, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
