Mr. Leo Gerald Howe age 84 of Summit Drive Blairsville passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Howe was born on May 3, 1924 in Dummore, PA, the son of the late Ernest Howe and the late Ila Gummar Howe. He was a veteran of the US Navy of WWII. Mr. Howe loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a Boy Scout Leader for several years. He was prece3ded in death by two sisters, Olive Crapom and Ethel Clayton. Mr. Howe was of the Presbyterian faith.
Surviving Mr. Howe are his loving wife of sixty four years, Jane Mary Salico Howe, one son, Rick Howe of Boston, MA, one daughter, Valerie Howe of Blairsville, five grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation in memory of Mr. Howe.

HARLIN JUNIOR ROBERTS
Mr. Harlin (Rod)Junior Roberts age 61 of Blairsville formerly of Alabama passed away on Tuesday July 22, 2008 at the home of his sister following an extended illness. Mr. Roberts was born on August 11, 1946 in Whitfield County, GA, the son of the late Jesse C. Roberts and the late Ruby Kaye Roberts. Rod was a loving father and brother and a friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Roberts. Mr. Roberts was a member of the Rainsville Church of God.
Surviving Mr. Roberts are his wife, Louise Roberts of Cartersville, GA, two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Ray and Melanie Roberts of Manchester, GA, Mitchell and Roseanne Roberts of Woodberry, GA, three daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Mark Betsill of Woodberry, GA, Rhonda and Michael Bailey of Warm Springs, GA, Crystal and Scott Spillers of Manchester, GA, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Norman Thomas of Blairsville, Patricia and Andy Baggett of Resaca, GA, a dear friend, Marlene Parker of Geraldine, AL., eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 23, 2008 at 11:00am from the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Claude Thomas and Rev. Mike Totherow officiating. Special music will be presented by the Faith Singers. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Ricky Hughes, Chris Satcher, Jesse Rogers, Mitchell and Jimmy Roberts and Scott Spillers. Interment and graveside services will follow at 2:00pm from the Ryo Baptist Church Cemetery in Ryo, GA. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-9pm.

MARAGARET BINKELE

Mrs. Margaret C. Binkele age 58 of Heather Pines Drive Sugar Hill, GA. passed away on Thursday July 24, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Binkele was born on Jan.31, 1950 in Lake City, FL, the daughter of the late Floyd Hassler and the late Pauline Davis Hassler. Margaret enjoyed reading books and maps, especially of foreign lands. She also loved doing any kind of crafts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Binkele in 1998.Mrs.Binkele was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving Mrs. Binkele are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Walter and Jessica Whitman of Cumming, GA, Charles Hassler of Cumming, one brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Davone Hassler of Cumming, one sister and brother-in-law, Myrna and Lehman Davis of Cumming, one granddaughter, Alyssia Hassler, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Services will be held on Saturday Aug. 2, 2008 at 2:00pm from the Shiloh Baptist Church in Cumming with the Rev. Bill Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital in Mrs. Binkele’s memory.

CAROL TUFFY
Carol Reed Tuffy, 70, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at home in Murphy, NC. She had fought a valiant battle with lung cancer over the past year, having survived a bout with malignant melanoma in the early 1990s.
A Mass of The Resurrection will be celebrated at Saint William Catholic Church in Murphy at 10:30 am on August 14, with Inurnment to follow immediately at the Saint William Columbarium, with the Rev. George Kloster officiating. There will also be a Celebration of Her Life following the services in the Church Commons and family and friends are welcome.
She was born March 28, 1938 in Geneva, IL and grew up in Wayne, IL. Carol was graduated from Elgin (IL) High School and DuPage County (IL) Community College. She pursued a career in corporate administration and personnel and worked for a number of major companies, including McGraw-Edison, Price Waterhouse and ARCO. She retired in 1996 as co-owner, with her husband, of a yacht charter company in the British Virgin Islands.
Following retirement, she returned to the United States and lived in Fort Lauderdale and Crystal River, FL before relocating to Murphy in 2005.
An accomplished horsewoman in her youth, Carol rode in the Wayne-DuPage (IL) Hunt, and participated in a number of Gymkhana and Horse Show events in and around Wayne. She also enjoyed riding in the desert at Rancho de los Caballeros in Wickenburg, AZ. Her passion for outdoor activities led her to take up golf and tennis.
After relocating to California in 1980 she learned to sail and co-owned two cruising sail boats with her husband. She enjoyed cruising the Channel Islands of the Pacific off the Southern California coast, was an active member of the Corsair Yacht Club at Catalina Island, CA and spent most late Spring through early Fall weekends anchored in Emerald Bay on Catalina Island. She continued to enjoy sailing after moving to the Caribbean and relished hosting family and friends on sailing ventures throughout the Leeward and Virgin Islands.
Carol was a member of Saint William Catholic Church in Murphy. She entered the Catholic faith through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) program at Saint William Church at the Easter Vigil service in 2006.
Her mother, Vara Reed, father Fred G. Reed and brother, James Reed, preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, John Tuffy of Murphy, her sister Lynne Schroeder and husband Edison of Roseville, CA, her brother Fredrick T.W. Reed and wife Carol of Gainesville, GA, and another brother, Robert Reed and wife Nikki of Wayne, IL, survive her. She also leaves a son, Reed Fry of Irvine, CA and a daughter Chari Fry of Vero Beach, FL, as well as three grand children, including a grand daughter Nicole Luberis and husband Oleo of Dallas, GA, three step-grand children, as well as her dear friend Melody Shapoory.

RUBY JEAN HOOD LlOYD
Mrs. Ruby Jean Hood Lloyd age 90 of Forest Drive Blairsville formerly of Nashville, GA. passed away on Saturday April 9, 2006 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Lloyd was born on June 5, 1915 in Ellijay, GA, The daughter of the late William Jess Hood and the late Carrie Kell Hood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin James Lloyd Sr. in 1993 and by one sister, Katherine Hood Braren, and three brothers, James Hood, William Hood and Paul Collins. Mrs. Lloyd was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Lloyd are two daughters and one son-in-law, Joyce Lloyd of Blairsville, Mary Louise and Dr. Charles King of Cedar Bluff, VA, one son and daughter-in-law, Austin James Jr. and Faye Lloyd of Nichols, GA, one brother, W. D. Collins of Osteen, FL, two sisters, Louise Lightfoot of Orlando, FL, Bunzie Harmon of Lakeland, FL, nine Grandchildren, Sixteen Great-Grandchildren, six Great-great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 11, 2006 at 11:00am from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. George Cline officiating. Special music will be presented by the Jubilee Choir. Interment and graveside services will follow on Thursday April 13, 2006 at 2:00pm from the Fender Cemetery in Lakeland, GA. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5-7pm.

MICHAEL GENE RUSH
Mr. Michael Gene Rush age 47 of Dean Gap Rd. Blairsville formerly of West Palm Beach, FL. passed away suddenly on Friday April 7, 2006, while riding his jet ski. Mr. Rush was born on Sept. 15, 1958 in West Palm Beach, FL, The son of the late Clifford Joseph Rush and the late Mildred Smith Rush. He enjoyed all sports and hunting. He was known for his creative use of the English language. Michael was always friendly and helpful to his friends and neighbors and even strangers in need. He had been a Georgia resident for the past five years. He was a member of the International Asbestos Workers Union Local 60 in Miami, FL. For twenty five years. Michael was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Michael are his loving wife of thirteen years, Colleen Kohler Rush of Blairsville, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Steven Flowers of Marble, NC, Robert and Linda Flowers of Orlando, FL, one daughter, Dana Graham of Knoxville, TN., two brothers and sister-in-laws, Joe and Pam Rush of West Palm Beach, David and Cindy Rush of Jupiter, FL, three Grandchildren, Kaley, Robert and Anthony Flowers, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 12, 2006 at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with Minister Terry Stuart officiating. Michael’s favorite hymns will be presented for the service. SUZANNE K. LIMEHOUSE
Mrs. Suzanne Kessler Brumbaugh Henderson Limehouse age 72 of Chestatee Drive Blairsville formerly of Gaffney, SC, and also of Perry, GA. passed away on Monday April 17, 2006 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Limehouse was born on Feb. 24, 1934 in Dayton, OH, The daughter of the late Robert W. Kessler and the late Lillian M. Sensel Kessler. She had been a Graphic and Commercial Artist, A Professional Dog Handler, An FTD Master Florist, A Past President of the South Carolina Florist Assn., A member of the High Country Artisans-Butternut Creek Festival. She had taught at the William Holland Lapidary School and at the John Campbell Folk School. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy P. Brumbaugh in 1983.Mrs.Limehouse was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Limehouse are her loving husband, James Limehouse of Blairsville, two sons, David Brumbaugh of Carabelle, FL, Chris Brumbaugh of Port St. Joe, FL, one daughter, Melissa Brumbaugh of Hiawassee, three step daughters, Ellen Jarosz of FL, Celia Schoeneman of VA, Merry Gress of MS., one sister, Frances Cline of Wildwood, MO., four brothers, Mike Kessler of Montana, Pete Kessler of Gaffney, SC., John Kessler of WA., Bill Kessler of OH, Grandchildren, Ariel and Ben Brumbaugh of Tucson, AZ., Kristy B. MARION ANN PRINGLE
Mrs. Marion Ann Pringle age 94 of Blairsville passed away on Friday April 21, 2006 in the blue Ridge Health Care Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Pringle was born on Nov. 2, 1911 in Milwaukee, WI., The daughter of the late James Clancy and the late Elizabeth Clancy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Pringle in 1976 and by a son-in-law, Sam Ivey in 2005.Mrs.Pringle was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic church.
Surviving Mrs. Pringle are one son, Richard Pringle of Clearlake, CA, one daughter, Charlene Ivey of Ellijay, GA, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. Interment will follow in Sun City, Arizona. In lieu of flowers if you wish, The family requests that memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Mrs. Pringle’s memory.
