Fred Greenfield
Mr. Fred Greenfield, age 77, of Daniels Way, Blairsville passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at North Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. He was born October 26, 1935 in Scranton, PA to the late Fred and Dorothy Saar Greenfield. Mr. Greenfield was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and was a member of the American Legion. He moved here 3 years ago from Newnan, GA.
Survivors include children, Douglas Greenfield of Blairsville, GA, Kim Ziegler of Charlotte, NC, Pam Greenfield of Binghamton, NY and Michelle Brady of Carrollton, GA, sister, Dorothy Biesecker of Orlando, FL, five grandchildren.
No services are planned.

Frank Phillip Patti
Mr. Frank Phillip Patti age 91 of Cavander Ridge Rd., Suches passed away on Friday March 1, 2013 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Patti was born on July 9, 1921 in Passaic, NJ, the son of the late Frank Patti Sr. and the late Julia Maggio Patti. Frank was a veteran of the US Army of WWII. Franks first love was golf. He also enjoyed swimming, shooting pool, exercising daily and riding his bike. He also loved Florida. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Weiler Patti in 1995, a daughter, Linda Griffths in 2006 and by two sisters, Deloris Lipay and Lena Patrick and one brother, Joseph Patti. Mr. Patti was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving Mr. Patti are one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Bill Haggas of Suches, one sister, Ann Sarich of Toms River, NJ, four grandchildren, Shannon Tilton, Clint Tilton, David Griffiths and Kristie Kirstein, eight great grandchildren, Benny, Daniell, Erica, Camyrn, Kaly, Kevin, Alex and Kasey, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Florida and interment will follow in the Fern Hill Cemetery in Stuart, FL. where Mr. Patti will rest next to his beloved wife Barbara. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Patti.

Donald Campbell Breslin
Mr. Donald Campbell Breslin, age 79, of Nottely Shores West, Blairsville passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at his home following an extended illness. He was born November 22, 1933 in Redbank, NJ to the late Arthur and Carolyn Macneir Breslin. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Breslin moved to this area 22 years ago from Falls Church, VA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, past President of St. Vincent de Paul, Vice President of IBM Manassas Employee Federal Credit Union and past President of Enchanted Valley Squares. He was an avid bowler and stained glass maker and loved sailing. Mr. Breslin was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marge Breslin of Blairsville, children, Jim and Lisa Breslin of Westminster, MD, Maureen and Jamie Butler of Spotsylvania, VA, Cathy and Jim DeFelice of Beaver Falls, PA, Donna and Marc Ryan of Land O’ Lakes, FL, Dan and Kristin Breslin of Powhatan, VA and Michael and Danielle Breslin of Holly Springs, NC, sister, Patricia Miller of Pompano Beach, FL, eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
A Mass will be held Friday, March 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Richard Wise and Father Liam Nguyen officiating. Music will be by Ron Gaucher. Interment will be in St. Clare’s Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Larry officiating. In lieu of flowers make memorial contributions to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Jack Brown
Mr. Jack Brown, age 68, of Crabapple RD, Blairsville passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Clay County Care Center following an extended illness. He was born November 7, 1944 in Blairsville, GA to the late Johnny and Helen Collins Brown. Jack loved to work and watch sports. He worked at Georgia Boot over 20 years and Arbor Acres over 20 years. Jack was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Faith Tabernacle Church.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Norma Brown of Blairsville, daughter Rena Brown of Blairsville, step-son, Jason and Tiffany Martin of Blairsville, sisters, Gwen Odom and Rachel and Charles Brackett both of Blairsville, brothers, Dale and Cathy Brown of Gainesville and Chris and Ida Brown of Dahlonega.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 3013 at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Dyer officiating. Music will be by Lewis and Olene Dyer and Ladies of Faith Tabernacle. Pallbearers will be Roy Guffey, Samuel Guffey, David Jones, Logan Beard, Curtis Brown and Loy Cook. Interment will follow in Old Liberty Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers make contributions to help defray expenses.

CHARLENE BUCHMAIER
Charlene Camille Buchmaier, age 63, of 5697 Shadow Valley Road, Blairsville, Ga. 30512, died on July 29, 2008 as the result of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia which she struggled with for four years. A stem cell transplant took place in early May which was the only option left to cure this illness and extend her life. Charlene went to the Lord very peaceful in her sleep with her husband holding her hand, loving her then as he did all their life together.
Charlene was a very giving, selfless person with a strong love of life. She gave of herself completely and had an uncanny ability to make others feel special. She listened and cared for all those around her and made the most out of any obstacle life would present. Her gentleness and grace were unmatched and her creativity came alive in everything she did; knitting, beading, gardening, cooking and her natural ability to transform a house into a home. Her grandchildren adored her for her childlike nature and playfulness. Above her fireplace floats a fairy holding a feather outstretched granting everyone their hearts’ desire. Happiness for others was her greatest wish.
Charlene was the daughter of the late William G. (Bill) Harris and Anita Elizabeth Harris. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard Heinz Buchmaier, daughters, Erica Deanne Standard and Kristin Anita Cascio, sister Suzanne Kristin Roy and her husband Robert Eugene Roy, brother W. Gregg Harris and his wife Andrea Burke-Harris and sister-in-law Ellen MacLellan. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Kyle Richard Standard, Megan Kristin Standard, Elizabeth Erica Cascio and Anaka Nichole Cascio, her nieces Camille Yvonne Heistand, Gwyneth Anne Harris, Jennifer MacLellan and nephews Gavin Wesley Harris and Robert S. MacLellan.
A private family service was held at the Mountain View Funeral Home in Blairsville with Father Tom Martin followed by cremation. A memorial event will be held in the fall which was Charlene’s most favorite season. To honor Charlene’s life friends may make contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or for beautification projects at Saint Clare’s Episcopal Church in Blairsville.

LEON LAMAR WAGES
Mr. Leon L. Wages of Blairsville passed away on Wednesday July 30, 2008 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Wages was born on Jan.21, 1934 in Conyers, GA, the son of the late Edward Wages and the late Annie Wade Wages. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He employed as a Telecommunications Engineer for over thirty years. Mr. Wages was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mr. Wages are his wife of thirty years, Elizabeth Stephens Wages, a native of Blairsville, one daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Michael Gardner of Powder Springs, GA, three sons and two daughter-in-law, Steven and Layne Wages of Clairmont, Todd and Bobbie Wages of Loganville, Alan Wages of Lawrenceville, four grandchildren, Lauren, Josh, Dakota and Bradley, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday Aug. 2, 2008 at 11:00am from the funeral home chapel with Danny Stephens officiating. Special music will be presented by Randall Collins, Crystal Murphy and Ken Young. The family will meet with friends following the services.

WILLIAM DAVID JONES
Mr. William David Jones age 50 of Nichols Rd. Young Harris, GA. formerly of Thompson, GA. passed away on Thursday July 31, 2008 at his home following a brief illness. Mr. Jones was born on Nov. 11, 1958 in Gwinnett County, GA, the son of Kelley Jones and Ellen Hawes Jones. David was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He spent a lot of his past time riding his Harley. Mr. Jones was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mr. Jones are his loving wife, Brenda Yarbrough Jones of Young Harris, one daughter, Melissa Jones of Lawrenceville, , one son, Adam Jones of Lawrenceville, his parents, Kelley and Ellen Jones of Lawrenceville, one sister, Melinda Bowlin of Duluth, one brother, Danny Jones of Lawrenceville, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 16, 2008 with the Rev. Rick Ledford officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to a local nursing of your choice in memory of David.

MICHAEL MATZ
Mr. Michael Matz age 92 of Lakeside Drive Blairsville formerly of Ft. Myers, FL, passed away on Saturday August 2, 2008 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Matz was born on Dec. 11, 1915 in New York City, NY, the son of the late Andreas Matz and the late Katherine Pentz Matz. Michael loved to travel, play shuffle board and wood working. He started, owned and operated a heating and air business in 1947, which is still in operation today. He was preceded in death by his wife. Lucienne Frank Matz. Mr. Matz was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving Mr. Matz are one daughter, Paulette Bowden of Blairsville, one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Donna Matz of Littleton, NH., one brother, Gus Matz of Hampton Bay, NY, three sisters, Katherine Hasil, Susan Matz and Gertrude Eadie all of Hampton Bay, NY, five grandchildren, Audrey Pasierb, Douglas Matz, Karen Hurst, Beau Hull and Melani Hull, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Regency Hospice of Hiawassee in memory of Mr. Matz.
