CECIL LANCE Jr.

Mr. Cecil Lance Jr. age 77 of Scott Lance Drive Blairsville passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2006 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mr. Lance was born on July 13, 1928 in Akron, OH, The son of the late Cecil Lance Sr. and the late Willie Hill Lance. He was a lifelong resident of Union County. He was a veteran of the US Army of the Korean War and had participated in several major campaigns. Mr. Lance operated the first Radio Shack in Blairsville for several years. one of his favorite hobbies was making music with his friends and his passion for musical instruments. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Drake Lance in 1998 and by his stepmother, Bonnie Lance in 1999.Mr.Lance was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and served as Deacon for almost fifty years.
Surviving Mr. Lance are one son and daughter-in-law Scott and Tammie Lance of Blairsville, one brother, Jack Lance of Blairsville, two Grandchildren, Amber and Becky Lance of Blairsville, several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday April 23, 2006 at 2:00pm from Antioch Baptist church with the Rev. Tommy Seay and Rev. B. A. Buchanan officiating. Special music will be presented by Kim Thomas and Lita Gowder. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Rick Davenport, Phil Nichols, Mike Stephens, Ricky Seay, Steve Drake and Jack Lance Jr. The following gentleman will serve as honorary pallbearers, Jack Drake, Bill Drake, Harry Lee Colwell, Charles Hill, Bud Nichols, Gerald George, Vick Vickery and Ray Durkee. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the North GA. Honor Guard conducting military honors.

NELSON ANDERSON
Mr. Nelson Anderson age 73 of Blue Ridge Hwy Blairsville passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2006 in the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville following an extended illness. Mr. Anderson was born on Jan.24, 1933 in Union County, The son of the late Lee Anderson and the late Jessie Sosebee Anderson. He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. He was an electrician and plumber by trade. He was preceded in death by his brother, T. J. Anderson in 2005.Mr.Anderson was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist church.
Surviving Mr. Anderson are his loving wife of fifty two years, Nellie Ruth Ross Anderson of Blairsville, three sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Lori Anderson of Boca Raton, FL, Ronnie and Sharon Anderson of Blairsville, Jerry Anderson of Blairsville, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Grapell Brown of Blairsville, Betty Lou and J. B. King of Blairsville, one brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Sarah Anderson of Blairsville, four Grandchildren, Brandon, Briana, Cody and Raven Anderson, one Great-Grandchild, Jaiden Anderson, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 26, 2006 at 2:00 pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Leon Henderson officiating. Special music will be presented by Ned Wilcoxin, Kelley Brewer and Howard Brys. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Brandon Anderson, Charles Turner, Larry King, Raymond King, Steve Anderson, Michael Anderson, B. L. Anderson and Tony Anderson. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist church cemetery.

BOBBY BURTON MATHESON
Mr. Bobby Burton Matheson age 63 of Wykle Rd. Hayesville, NC. passed away on Monday April 24, 2006 in the Clay County Care Center following an extended illness. Mr. Matheson was born on Jan.19, 1943 in Clay County, NC, The son of James William Matheson and Rena Mae Ledford Matheson. He was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. In his younger days, Bobby drove race cars and rode motorcycles. He enjoyed flying and sky diving. A lot of his past time was spent rabbit and fox hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathrine Brock Matheson, a daughter, Debra Faye Watkins and a brother, Jackie Matheson. Mr. Matheson attended Hayesville Church of God.
Surviving Mr. Matheson are three sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Debbie Matheson of Hayesville, Tommy and Angie Matheson of Hayesville, Doug and Barbie Matheson of Hayesville, father and mother, Bill and Rena Mae Matheson of Hayesville, two brothers and one sister-in-law, Billy Ray Matheson, Charles and Angie Matheson all of Hayesville, three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Doris and Billy Overton of TN., Darlene Long, Delores and Marty Terrell all of Hayesville, eight Grandchildren, five Great-Grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Memorial services will be held on Friday April 28, 2006 from the North Mt. Zion Church of God with the Rev. Raburne Wilson officiating. The family will meet with friends at the church on Friday evening from 6-8pm prior to the services.

Mr. Danny Dixon age 59 of Garrett Rd. Blairsville passed away on Wednesday April 26, 2006 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Dixon was born on March 25, 1947 in Graham, TX, The son of the late Albert F. Dixon and Billie J. Miller Dixon. He was a veteran of the National Guard. He had lived in Union County for the past four years, moving here from Graham, TX. He was a member and Judge of the International Bore Goat Association. Danny loved gardening and working with his animals. Mr. Dixon was a member of Ivy Log Baptist church.
Surviving Mr. Dixon are his loving wife of four years, Martha Dixon of Blairsville, one daughter, Stephanie Dixon of Graham, TX, mother, Billie Dixon of Graham, TX.., one step daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Travis Lunsford of Blairsville, one step son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Barbie Nix of Blairsville, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marinda and Larry Brown of Graham, TX, Susan and Wendall Brown of Graham, TX, one step grandchild, Logan Nix, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Friday April 28, 2006 at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Karnes and Rev. Chester Jones officiating. Special music will be presented by the Ivy Log Quartet. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, John Armstrong, Danny Henson, Jeff Beck, George Beck, Bruce Gray and Dean Dyer. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Rufus Everett, the Deacons of Ivy Log Baptist church and members of the NorthEast Georgia Bore Goat Breeders. Interment will follow in the Ivy Log Baptist church cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-9pm.

Edward Stephen Antalik
Edward Steven Antalik born on February 11, 1956 passed away on July 15, 2012. To have known Ed was to have known a man who would always give a helping hand, he was full of cheer. As a friend ready for new adventures he was incomparable always on the go and would stand by you in times of need. As a loving father of three he was a terrific dad. He will be truly missed. Surviving Mr. Antalik are his three children, Amanda Antalik, his first, Logan Antalik, his second and Alana Leslie Campbell, his third. Ed moved from FT Myers to take care of his beloved mom, Louise Haley Hughes, age 88. She enjoyed four wonderful years with Ed and is devastated as his only brother, Dean Abbot Antalik age 55, who lives in Buffalo with 3 grown sons and his wife Kathleen of 35 years. Ed was an exception never to be repeated; loved by all who knew him especially his closet friends Michael and Donna. Ed’s good nature and free spirit will live on. He was an original person whose spirit will live on. God bless you Ed. His memorial can be seen on Facebook.

Marilyn Boussum
Ms Marilyn Boussum age 82, of Twin Pond Court, Blairsville, GA passed away on July 19, 2012 following an extended illness. She was born on October 25, 1929 near Chicago, IL. Marilyn loved gardening and traveling, and was a world traveler. She leaves behind her, two sisters cherished and devoted friends, Mary Lou Fowler, of Florida, with whom she was friends for over 60 years, and Theresa Flesch, also her friend over 20 years. She also leaves behind very special friends, Norman and Mary Green, of Blairsville GA and many other friends in Ft Meyers Beach, Florida and Blairsville GA. Ms Boussum was an athlete, teacher, psychologist, humorist, humanitarian, and advocate of “scotch and water”. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and brought smiles to the faces she met. Although there are no funeral services scheduled at this time, in lieu flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to any woman’s shelter, any hospice organization, or to the American Cancer Society.

MICHAEL ARLON LEE
Mr. Michael Arlon Lee age 49, of Hunt Martin Street Blairsville, GA passed away Saturday July 21, 2012 at Union General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born August 19, 1962 in Young Harris Georgia, the son of Frances Lee and the late John Lee. He was a truck driver for Davenport Transport. He was a member of Day of Grace Baptist Church. He loved to ride motorcycles, bluegrass music, his dogs and leaves behind a faithful companion "Duke".
Survivors include his loving wife, Lisa Sosebee Lee of Blairsville, GA, Mother Frances Lee of Blairsville, GA, and a Nephew "who was like a son" Nolan Lee. Numerous cousins and other family members also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 24, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the Day of Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Henderson and Rev. Lee Griggs officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as Pallbearers Jack Moore, Larry Henderson, Leonard Sosebee, Joe Sosebee, Neal Rusk, and Wesley McClure Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Henderson, Hank McClure, and Scott Stephens. Music will be provided by Day of Grace Choir. Interment will be followed at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to help Defray Funeral Expenses.

Mr. Bob Lewis Huggins age 80 of Kiutuestia Creek Rd. Blairsville passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Huggins was born on June 12, 1932 in Union County, the son of the late John H. Huggins and the late Octavia Amanda Walker Huggins. Bob retired in 1994 from Lock Heed Martin as a machinist. He was a veteran of the US Army of the Korean War. He served as Chaplin with the North Georgia Honor Guard for the past several years and had been a member since 1995. He was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ruth Perkins Huggins in 2001. Bob was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was attending Harmony Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving Mr. Huggins are one daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Donald Jones of Blairsville, two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Susan Huggins of Duluth, GA, Johnny and Tammy Huggins of Clayton, GA, three step sons, Ed and Linda Rich of Uharlee, GA, Ron Rich of Blairsville, Bobby Dyer of Blairsville, one step daughter, Ellen Dillinger of Blue Ridge, one brother and sister-in-law, James R. and Earlene Huggins of Bristol, VA, grandchildren, Mike Rich, Jamey Mull, Jodie Poteete, Scott Rich, Derrick and Lauren Dillinger, Sheena Jones, Lori Smith, Cory Huggins, Jenna Huggins, Shauna Jones, Kile Jones, Tristan Huggins and Chason Huggins, great-grandchildren, Taylor Mull, Bradley Puccio, Braden Poteete, Kamryn Mull, Aiden Jones, Konner Peek, Kooper Peek, Carson Rich, Jax Dillinger, Braxton Jones, Channing Jones and Parker Dillinger, many other relatives and friends also survive.
