DANIEL (DANNY) HALL
Mr. Daniel Edward Hall (Danny) age 43 of Blairsville, GA. and of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on Monday August 11, 2008 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Hall was born on July 3, 1965 in Boynton Beach, FL, the son of Robert Hall and Shirley Shook Hall. Danny had been a part time resident of Union County for the past fourteen years and attended Coosa United Methodist Church. Danny was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Boynton Beach.
Surviving Danny are his parents, Robert and Shirley Hall of Boynton Beach, FL, one brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Mary Hall of Boynton Beach, one nephew, Joshua Hall, one niece, Madison Hall, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Boynton, Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Coosa United Methodist Church of Blairsville in memory of Mr. Hall.

BOBBY C. HENSON

Mr. Bobby C. Henson age 75 of Plott Farm Rd. Blairsville passed away on Wednesday Aug. 13, 2008 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Henson was born on August 12, 1933 in Union County, the son of the late Boyd Henson and the late Gertrude Hemphill Henson. He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County and was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of Allegheny Masonic Lodge #114.Bobby’s favorite past time was his garden. He was preceded in death by a step son, Billy Carver and by seven siblings. Bobby was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mr. Henson are his loving wife of forty six years, Polly Jones Henson one son, Chris Henson of Murphy, NC, step children, Rev. Tommy and Vivian Jones of Blairsville, Barbara and Garner Butt of Blairsville, Donnia and Buddy Legg of Blairsville, one sister and brother-in-law, Sue and June Stephens of Blairsville, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Friday August 15, 2008 at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tommy Jones officiating. Special music will be presented by Darron and Vanessa Nichols, Leslie Hughes, Melissa Collins and Cody Killian. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Buddy Legg, Jack Jones, Billy Clemmons, Garner Butt, Larry Henson, Jason Henson, Cory Killian and Guy Bradley. Interment will follow in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery.

VERNON RAY KING
Mr. Vernon Ray King age 78 of Kings Rd. Blairsville passed away on Friday August 15, 2008 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. King was born on July 10, 1930 in Union County, the son of the late Jass King and the late Minnie Dillinger King. He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. Vernon loved to coon hunt, work in the garden and drive his tractor. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Flowers and Artebell Ingram and three brothers, Ed, Otis and Jess King. Mr. King was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mr. King are one son, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers and two sister-in-laws, Ovell King of Blairsville, Troy and Clara Mae King of Blairsville, J.B. and Betty King of Blairsville, one sister, Ollie Jones of Gainesville, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2008 at 3:00pm from the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Young and Rev. Guy Wayne Shook officiating. Special music will be presented by Nancy Hughes, Evan Hughes and Kelley Helton. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Keith Culberson, Ray Ingram, Larry King, Cord King, Gerald Patterson and Charles Truelove. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Robert Bridges and Bill King. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

STELLA MAE ABERNATHY
Mrs. Stella Mae Abernathy age 91 of Dettman Ln. Blairsville passed away on Monday August 18, 2008 in the Chestatee Regional Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Abernathy was born on Sept. 22, 1916 in Union County, the daughter of the late J.C. Forrester and the late Vesta Clement Forrester. She was a native and lifelong resident of Union County, She had taught school in Union and Fannin Counties for many years. Stella loved quilting, gardening and growing flowers. She always looked forward to going to church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Abernathy, a son, Lathan Gilreath and a brother, Hugh Forrester. Mrs. Abernathy was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Abernathy are one son and daughter-in-law, James and Glenda Gilreath of Blairsville, three step daughters, one granddaughter, Abby Jackson of Blairsville, all of church family, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Aug. 20, 2008 at 11:00am from the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Special music will be presented by the Philadelphia Church Choir. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Don Rogers, Charles Totherow, Dan Truelove, Gerald Clement, Bill Clement and Charles Brackett. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-9pm.

MARTHA LOUISE COMBS
Martha Louise Combs (87) went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2006 at Union General Hospital, Blairsville, Ga. after a short illness. She was born October 30, 1918 in Tazewell, Virginia, to the late J.R. Gildersleeve and the late Laura (Beavers) Gildersleeve. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Robinson Gildersleeve, II and her husband Richard Raymond Combs.
She is survived by her sister, Helen Fulford and two sons, Richard Combs (Ann) of Orlando, Florida and Franklin Combs (J’Nai) of Murphy. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Martha moved to Florida in her early twenties where she was active in her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, the Desota Celebration of Manatee County and a volunteer in the Republican party of Bradenton Florida. She was also a volunteer at Manatee Memorial Hospital thrift shop and was a member of the auxiliary of Manatee Memorial Hospital. She operated her own beauty salon for many years and was an avid bridge player. She attended the Westminister Presbyterian Church in Bradenton, FL and served as a deacon there.
She moved to Murphy, N.C. in August 2005 to live with her sister and son (Franklin and wife). She was a member of Murphy First Baptist Church and loved her church family. She loved listening to Southern Gospel music and to gospel music by Elvis.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday evening from the Bradenton funeral home chapel with Frank and Richard Combs officiating.Graveside services and interment will follow on Friday morning May 12, 2006 at 10:00am from the SkyWay Memorial cemetery.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Regency Hospice of Blairsville, Ga.

SUSAN GAIL HORNE
Mrs. Susan Gail Horne age 50 of Tombstone Drive Blairsville passed away on Monday May 8, 2006 in Towns County from injuries received in an automobile accident. Mrs. Horne was born on Dec. 11, 1955 in Ft. Myers, FL, The daughter of the late James Hilton and the late Margarite Snyder Hilton. At the time of her death she was employed with Regency Hospice as an RN and also at Union General Hospital. She was a dedicated nurse and her patients became part of her family. She had been a nurse for over seven years. Susan loved helping and caring for people in their last days. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a friend to all who knew her. Susan was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Susan are her loving husband of thirty two years, Alva Horne of Blairsville, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Anthony and Sabrina Horne of Longwood, FL, James and Carie Horne of Blairsville, William Horne of Longwood, FL, two brothers, James Hilton and Tracy Hilton, four Sisters Ginny McCurley, Linda Levesque, Mary Anne Varna and Pat Laroque, five grandchildren, Jacob, Austin, Matthew, Halle and Amberlee Horne, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 11, 2006 at 1:00pm from the funeral home chapel with Chaplin Nancy Joyner officiating. Special music will Susan’s favorite hymns. The following gentleman will serves as pallbearers, Anthony, James and William Horne, Skip Waylett, Jerry Smith, Joey Hughes, Mary Phillips and Linda Tatum. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Regency Hospice Staff. Interment will follow in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery.

MARGARET NELL McCUTCHIN
Mrs. Margaret Nell McCutchin age 76 of Dean Gap Acres Blairsville passed away on Monday May 8, 2006 following an extended illness. Mrs. McCutchin was born on Oct. 17, 1929 in Albuquerque, NM., The daughter of the late Arthur Milligan and the late Ada Neel Milligan. She loved to knit and sew. Her favorite past time was studying the Bible. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Watson and two brothers, Paul Milligan and Neel Milligan. Mrs. McCutchin was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Blairsville.
Surviving Mrs. McCutchin are her loving husband of fifty four years, James McCutchin of Blairsville, two daughters and one son-in-law, Charlotte Ann Lurvey of Tampa, FL, Deborah Nell and Ronald Kelley of Athens, AL., one brother, Bob Milligan of Santa Fe, NM., two sister-in-laws, Madelin Moore and Margaret Milligan, two nieces, Donna Begier and Adele Bryan, nephew, Laverne Moore, five grandchildren, Karen Bynum, Jenny Neidhardt, Jeffrey, Kristi and Heather Lurvey, three great grandchildren, Lily Neidhandt, Hailey Bynum and Kailey Neidhardt, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday May 10, 2006 at 11:00am from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Minister Rod Scogin officiating. Flowers are accepted or in lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall in Mrs. McCutchin’s memory.

NORMA JEAN COOPER
Mrs. Norma Jean Cooper age 70 of Cooper’s Lane Morganton, GA. passed away on Friday May 12, 2006 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Cooper was born on April 23, 1936 in Charleston, W. V A., The daughter of the late Wilmer McCallister and the late Mae Wells McCallister. She loved to work around the house with her grandchildren. One of her favorite past times was rock collecting. She and her husband Earnest sang together at Confidence Methodist church where they attended.
Surviving Mrs. Cooper are her loving husband of twenty eight years, Earnest Cooper of Morganton, three daughters and one son-in-law, Regina Armstrong of Charleston, W. VA, Ronda Skiles of Dunbar, W. V A., Rochelle and Charles Harvey of Edgewood, NM., one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Harriet McCallister of Scottsdale, AZ., five grandchildren, Jennifer and Justin Stiles, Allison Zerkle, Ryan Harvey and Aaron Austin, one great grandson, Peyton Skiles, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 17, 2006 at 10:00am from the Collison funeral home chapel with the Rev. Willis Scott officiating. The family will have a private visitation on Tuesday evening and a public visitation on Wednesday morning prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Florida National cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
