Mr. Randall John Allen age 59 of Elisha Payne Rd. Blairsville passed away on Thursday August 5, 2010 in the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta following a brief illness. Mr. Allen was born on July 4, 1951 in Towns County, the son of the late John(Hosey) Allen and the late Irene Payne Allen. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Allegheny Lodge #114 F&AM. Over the years Randall was an ambulance driver and a truck driver. Most recent before retiring he was a Deputy Sheriff and Marshall with the Union County Sheriff’s Department for over fifteen years. Randall was a loving father, brother and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, John (Hosey) and Irene Allen and a sister, Bonnie Allen. Mr. Allen was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving Mr. Allen are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Tracy and Tommy Holbrooks of Blairsville, Wendy and Steve Burrell of Blairsville, Sarah Allen of Blairsville, two brothers and sister-in-laws, Richard and Susie Allen of Canton, GA, James and Anita Allen of Mineral Bluff, GA, three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Minnie and David Chapman of Ellijay, Wanda and Bob Grant of Woodstock and Donna Panter of Woodstock, five grandchildren, Kayla Nelder, Josh and Hannah Holbrooks, Donovan and Ethan Green, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 3:00pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Danny White and Rev. Earl Pickelsimer officiating. Special music was presented by Sean Byers, Herman and Lavada Cheek. The following gentleman served as pallbearers, Arnold Patterson, Lynn Holbrooks, Don Winn, Doug Byers, Gary Chapman and Denny Dills. Serving as honorary pallbearers were, Wendall Payne, Royce Killian, Michael Turner, James Grady Allen, Chris Chapman and Joshua Panter. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the North GA. Honor Guard conducting military honors. The family met with friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening.

GERARD FRANK SULLIVAN

Mr. Gerard Frank Sullivan age 92 of Crooked Creek Rd. Young Harris passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Sullivan was born on Aug. 8, 1915 in Boston, MA, the son of the late Frank Sullivan and the late Fitzgerald. He was a veteran of the US Army of WWII. Gerard was an avid sports fan, especially, baseball. He was a lover of life and enjoys life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Lewis Sullivan in 1987, a sister, Marjorie Kelly and a brother, Paul Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan was of the Christian faith.
Surviving Mr. Sullivan are four daughters, Lynne Potter of Young Harris, Marjorie Holland, Barbara and Jane Sullivan all of Boston, MA, two sons, Craige Minari of Young Harris and Jerry Sullivan of Boston, MA, several nieces and nephews, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Regency Hospice in Mr. Sullivan’s memory.

BENNA LEE THOMAS
Mrs. Benna Lee Thomas age 78 of Old Zebulon Gap Rd. Blairsville passed away on Monday May 26, 2008 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Thomas was born on April 25, 1930 in Union County, the daughter of the late Roy Jordan and the late Nettie Plott Jordan. She was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. Benna Lee was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was not only Claude’s wife, but she was also his best friend. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Enotah Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Thomas are her loving husband of sixty years, Rev. Claude Thomas of Blairsville, two sons and daughters-in-law, Buddy and Ayme Thomas of Blairsville, Norman and Mary Thomas of Blairsville, one brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Joyce Jordan of Blairsville, one sister, Irene Harris of Granite Falls, NC, one granddaughter, Juletta Westmoreland of Cleveland, GA, three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Angel and Kiersten, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2008 from the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Totherow and Rev. Jack Cochran officiating. Special music will be presented by Troy Phillips and Family. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Louis Henderson, Ricky Hughes, Rex Everett, Jay Edwards, Riley Stephens and Earl Lovell. Interment will follow in the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-9pm.

GERALD WAYNE FRANKLIN
Mr. Gerald Wayne Franklin age 46 of Brannon Nix Rd. Blairsville passed away on Wednesday May 28, 2008 at his home following a sudden illness. Mr. Franklin was born on July 12, 1961 in Murphy, NC, the son of the late Cecil Franklin and the late Helen Brown Franklin. Gerald was an avid collector, he loved woodworking, motorcycles and motor cross racing. He was a great repairman who could fix anything. At the time of his death he was employed with Brass Town Valley Resort. Mr. Franklin was a member of the House of Prayer Church.
Surviving Mr. Franklin are his wife, Rhonda Byce Franklin of Blairsville, one daughter, Megan Franklin of Blairsville, one sister, Janet Franklin of AL., one brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Heather Traylor of Morganton, GA, an uncle and aunt, Rev. Billy and Helen Franklin of Hayesville, Nephews, Wayne and Steven Poss of Stockbridge, GA, cousin, Rachel and Vernon Barnes of Young Harris, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Monday June 30, 2008 at 7:00pm from the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Franklin officiating. Special music will be presented by Jeri Ann King. Interment will follow in the Many Forks Baptist Church Cemetery.

KEITH ARLIE JOHNSON
Mr. Keith Arlie Johnson age 73 of Wildwood Rd. Blairsville passed away on Wednesday May 28, 2008 in Supply, NC. following a brief illness. Mr. Johnson was born on June 25, 1934 in Washington. DC., the son of the late Arlie Latham Johnson and the late Dorothy Turney Johnson. Following Graduation from GA. Tech he began a career at Bethlehem Steel. He than became a private consultant in ceramic engineering. He had a great love for his wife, children and grandchildren. Keith enjoyed singing in his church choir, which he did for many years. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Mountain Presbyterian Church.
Surviving Mr. Johnson are his loving wife of twenty five years, Lorena Thomas Johnson of Young Harris, seven children, Vikki Johnson of Dallas, TX, Karyl and Reggie Moultrie of Flower Mound, TN., Karyn Johnson of Seattle, WA., Kim and Mark Kane of South Lake, TX, Kathy and Travis Adams of Blairsville, Bill and Sara Messick of Washington, DC., Tom Carter of Austin, TX, one sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Chuck Corder of Dallas, TX, one brother, Duane Johnson of Spring Field, VA, seven grandchildren, Dustin Moultrie, Cater, Collin and Clayton Adams, Jessica, Rachel and Lauren Kane, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Monday June 2, 2008 at 11;00am from the Mountain Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Travis Adams and Collin Adams officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Mountain Presbyterian Church in memory of Mr. Johnson.

JANIE RUTH PAYNE
Mrs. Janie Ruth Payne age 65 of Emmett Payne Drive Blairsville passed away peacefully in the arms of her husband at her home on Tuesday June 3, 2008.Mrs.Payne was born on Nov. 20, 1942 in Fannin County, GA, the daughter of the late Drew Callihan and the late Essie Dillard Callihan. Janie was a loving wife and mother and was a friend to many. She will be missed, not only by her family, but by all who knew her. Mrs. Payne was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mrs. Payne are her loving husband and best friend of forty seven years, Emmett Payne of Blairsville, one son and daughter-in-law, David and Faye Payne of Blairsville, two brothers and sister-in-laws, Ernest and Jean Raper of IN., Otis and Polly Raper of Farner, TN., several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday June 4, 2008 at 3:00pm from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family and friends were led in prayer by Dr. Phillip Meeks. Special music was presented by Herbert and Joyce Teague, Ted Holbrooks, Ethan and McCoy Walker. The following gentleman served as pallbearers, JM Grizzle, McCoy and Dennis Walker, Grady Jones, Larry Payne and Denver Garrett. Serving as honorary pallbearers were, Ethan Walker, Jim Postell, Leon Davenport, Daryl Shook, Herbert Teague, Leon Wells and Dr. George Gowder.

DRUCILLA ALLE CLOWER
Mrs. Druscilla Alle Clower age 78 of Wren Drive Jasper passed away on Wednesday June 4, 2008 in the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta following a brief illness. Mrs. Clower was born on Nov. 16, 1929 in St. Paul, MN., the daughter of the late Sam Alle and the late Meta Christine Nelson. She retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company after over thirty years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clower in 1992.Mrs.Clower was of the Lutheran faith.
Surviving Mrs.Clower are four daughters and two sons-in-law, Christine and Fred Cohen of Jasper, GA, Kathryn Eastman of Newborne, GA, Deborah Bullard and fiancé, Richard Darnell of Dawsonville, Patricia Riley of Cartersville, one son and daughter-in-law, Bradd and Carol Bullard of Douglasville, two brothers and sister-in-laws, Sam and Shirley Alle of Grand Rapids, MN., Doug and Fannie Alle of Rosedale, MN., eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

BONNIE THOMAS BOITER
Mrs. Bonnie Thomas Boiter age 85 of Blue Ridge Hwy Blairsville passed away on Friday June 6, 2008 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Boiter was born on May 5, 1923 in Union County, the daughter of the late Ed Bryant and the late Beulah Queen Bryant. She was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. Bonnie enjoyed traveling all over the country and seeing different sites and places with her best friend, Claude Goodwin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Boiter in 1991 and by her first husband, Cecil Thomas in 1979, also by a son, Jerry Thomas, brothers, Howard and Ford Bryant and a sister, Lorene Mason. Mrs. Boiter was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Boiter are two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Jan Thomas of Blairsville, Jimmy and Claudine Thomas of Blairsville, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Pauline and Ronald Taylor of Blairsville, Lucille Warren of Atlanta, a very special friend, Claude Goodwin of Simpsonville, SC., four grandchildren, Shane, Cory, Jenna and Jillian Thomas, two great-grandchildren, Trey and Lindsey Thomas, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at 3:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Harrison Bradley officiating. Special music will be presented by the Kelley Trio. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Shane, Trey and Cory Thomas, Tommy Lovell, Larry Stover and Brad Berrong. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
