Mr. Jeffrey Joseph Morin age 48 of Robertson Circle Blairsville passed away on Monday June 5, 2006 at his home. Mr. Morin was born on Nov. 28, 1957 in Exeter, NH., The son of Pauline J. Dostie Morin and the late Raymond G. Morin. Mr. Morin attended the First United Methodist church of Blairsville.
Surviving Mr. Morin are his mother, Pauline Morin of Englewood, FL, three children, Shannon Greenwood of St. Petersburg, FL, Raymond Morin of Blairsville, Misty Morin of Blairsville, three brothers and sister-in-laws, Thomas and Kathy Morin of Lemitar, NM., Joseph and Karen Morin of Andrews, NC, Eric and Nancy Morin of Woodbridge, VA, one sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Kevin Thompson of Layton, Utah, several nieces, nephews and many aunts, uncles, cousins also many other relatives and friends also survive.
Services for Mr. Morin will be held on Saturday June 10, 2006 at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joseph Morin officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, The family requests that memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital in Mr. Morin’s memory.

JOHN WILLIAM LEE
Mr. John William Lee age 54 of Middle Creek Rd. Blairsville passed away on Tuesday June 6, 2006 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Lee was born on Feb. 20, 1952 in Albuquerque, NM., The son of Ardith Williams Lee and the late Rubin Daniel Lee. Before John’s illness he was employed with Gwinnett County as a Paramedic and Firefighter. He was a Veteran of the US Marines. Mr. Lee was of the Christian faith.
Surviving Mr. Lee are his mother and step father, Ardith M. Lee and William Lyle Jr. of Lavonia, GA, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Travis Strickland of Columbia, SC., Robin and Marshall Poole of Stockbridge, GA, grandmother, Kathryn Williams of Decatur, GA, nephews, Ryan and Jeff Gilliam, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, The family requests that memorials may be made to Blairsville Mountain Animal Shelter in Mr. Lee’s memory.

JAMES ALEXANDER HANDLEY
Mr. James Alexander Handley age 72 of Blueberry Lane Blairsville who passed away on Thursday June 8, 2006 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Handley was born on April 10, 1934 in Chicago, IL, The son of the late Roy Handley and the late Edna Shark Handley. He Grew up in Cincinnati, OH, and moved to Florida in 1977 where he was employed by Disney World for over twenty years, retiring in 1997 and making his home in Blairsville. He was a member of the Carson Masonic Lodge F&AM .He enjoyed his part time position at the bowling center. Mr. Handley was of the Presbyterian faith.
Surviving Mr. Handley are his loving wife of thirty six years, Carol Rhein Handley of Blairsville, children, Larry Handley, Ken Handley, Julie Robinson, Jeannie Tobias, Kim Gordon, Mike Sarvis all of Cincinnati, OH, and Jeff Sarvis of Japan, thirteen grandchildren, two grear-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
No service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers if you wish, The family requests that memorials may be made to Regency Hospice in Mr. Handley’s memory.

Troy Roger Miller SR
Mr. Troy Roger Miller SR, age 68, of Cynth Creek RD, Hiawassee passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA following a brief illness. He was born October 30, 1944 to Charlie Harold and Ruth Loujean (Rogers) Miller and was a life long resident of Towns County. Troy was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Troy is survived by his wife, Matalee (Pickelsimer) Miller of the home, 4 children, Juanima Patrick, Mary Ruble, Martha Miller and Roger and Karla Miller all of Hiawassee. He had 9 grandchildren that he loved dearly, Dennis, Kevin and Jonathan Ruble, Justin, Amber and April Patrick, Trae, Levi and Andrew Miller, his mother, Ruth Miller of Hiawassee, sister, Joann Phillips of Hiawassee, brother, Trannis Miller of Hiawassee, niece, Ramona Perry, 4 nephews, Roger and Ronnie Phillips, Hank and Travis Miller. He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie Miller and brother, F.H. Miller. Troy was a loving, kind and giving man and will be terribly missed by all of those who knew and loved him very much.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Josh Cochran officiating. Pallbearers will be Travis Miller, Roger Miller, Heath Gibson, Richard Corn, Sonny Rogers and Aaron Ruble. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Ruble and Jonathan Ruble. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers make memorials to help defray expenses. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Anthony Lee Payne
Mr. Anthony Lee Payne, age 34, of Canton, GA, formerly of Blairsville passed away Friday, April 5, 2013. He was born March 12, 1979 in Dalton, GA to the late Charles Lee and Ella Vee (Allen) Payne. He loved to hunt, fish and build things and was a good carpenter. Anthony was also preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jack C. Payne SR, maternal grandparents Elgin and Grova Allen. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include daughter, Kirsten Payne of MS, paternal grandmother, Janie Payne of Blairsville, brother, Randy Hampton, sisters, Debra Lynn Hampton, Rehnee and Clifford Herr and Teresa Colwell all of Blairsville, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, April 8, 2013 at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Billy Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery.

Charles Lee Payne
Mr. Charles Lee Payne, age 59, of Nottely Dam RD, Blairsville passed away suddenly along with his wife Louise on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at his home. Charles was born April 21, 1953 in Blue Ridge, GA. He loved to hunt, fish, and work on lawn mowers and loved to tinker with things. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Jack Charles Payne, SR. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Janie Payne of Blairsville, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Vickie Payne of Blairsville, GA, son, Anthony Payne (deceased) of Canton, GA, sisters, Wanda and Walter Sparks of Powder Springs, GA, Linda and Poley Seabolt of Blairsville, GA, Brenda Moxley of Soperton, GA, Sharon and Larry Trulove of Blairsville, GA, Jack Payne of Mineral Well, W VA, and Cynthia Hester of Blairsville, GA, step-children, Randy Hampton, Debra Lynn Hampton, Rehnee and Clifford Herr and Teresa Colwell all of Blairsville, five grandchildren, Kayce, Kourtney, Karlee, Kinsley and Kristen.
Graveside services will be held Monday, April 8, 2013 at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Billy Jones officiating.

Pamela Anne Cooper
Mrs. Pamela Anne Cooper, age 63, of Wesley Mountain DR, Blairsville passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 in North Fulton Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Cleveland, OH on July 9, 1949 to the late Peter Michael and Celeste Marguerite (Story) McGonnell. She moved here from Coolidge, GA 1 year ago. Mrs. Cooper was a loving and caring sister, aunt and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Russell Cooper, JR, in 2007. She was of the Catholic Faith.
Survivors include sisters, Gail Romine of Blairsville, GA and Susan Buchfellner of Dawsonville, GA, nieces, Danielle and Matt Tomlin of Gainesville, GA and Gabrielle and Shane Crider of Gainesville, GA, nephew Damond Riddle of Gainesville, GA several aunts, uncles and cousins, great nieces and nephews, Matthew Tomlin, Ricky Tomlin, Rilee Tomlin, Preston Crider and Zayne Crider.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers make memorials to Union County Humane Society Mountain Shelter.

PATRICIA LOUISE HOWARD
Patricia Louise Howard, 66, passed away in her home on August 21, 2012 following an extended illness. She was born on June 21, 1946 in Beacon, NY and has lived in Blairsville, GA since 1996. She was the only daughter of Lewis and Marion Wood, both preceding her in death. Also preceding her, her granddaughter Patricia Maria Howard.
Patricia was dedicated to those she loved and always gave support and care to all those around her. She loved to cook, was avid reader and shopper, and was completely devoted to the animals she cared for. She had a unique prospective on life and was always willing to share it with anyone who took the time to listen. She was a fighter, instilling in those around her, especially her children, with a strong sense of self. Her guidance and example gave her children and those close to her the ability to deal with adversity with great strength and courage.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Richard Lee Howard, Son & Daughter-in-Law John & Toni Jo Howard, Daughter Kathleen Howard, Daughter Deborah Howard, Son and Daughter-in-Law Robert & Misty Howard, Grandchildren David, Caitlin, & Caleb, Brother and Sister-in-Law Donald & Susan Wood, Sister-in-Law and Husband Betty & Edward Zelinsky, Nieces Cassandra, Victoria, Joni, Jill, Victoria & Nephew Christopher, and Step-Grandchildren Danielle, Timothy, & Ariel. Special friends and family include Sandra Mills, Irene Hince, Sue Cuccia, Brenda Lycan, Helene Moerlins & Jessica Pierce along with many, many others.
Funeral services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until the time of the funeral. Deacon John Paul McGuire will officiate. The family requests in lieu of flowers that individuals donate to their local area Hospice services.
