Jerry Dale Perry

US Air Force

Mr. Jerry Dale Perry age 62 of Grandview Ridge Young Harris passed away on Saturday July 3, 2010 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Perry was born on April 15, 1948 in Hobbs New Mexico, the son of the late Rufus Perry and the late Henrietta Sefcik Perry. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Jerry was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He was preceded in death by a step daughter, Brittany Bell, one brother, Harrell Donald Perry and a sister, Dorothy Nereau. Mr. Perry was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Perry are his loving wife, Kelly Crosby Perry of Young Harris, sister and brother-in-law, Betty Sue and Ralph Michaelson of Rochester, NY, brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Jean Walden of Blairsville, step son and daughter-in-law, David and Cassie Bell of Helen, GA, step granddaughter, Aubrey Tucker, nieces and nephews, Shaun, Kevin, Ashley, Jim, Janice, Debbie, David, Jon and family, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A Celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday July 6, 2010 at 11:00am from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. George Cline officiating. Special music will be presented by Rev. George Cline. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Union County Hospital Auxiliary in memory of Mr. Perry. The family will meet with friends following the services.

David Lee Gunn

Mr. David Lee Gunn age 52 of Isabella Ave. Copperhill, TN. passed away on Thursday July 1, 2010 following an extended illness. Mr. Gunn was born on Oct. 29, 1957 in Linton, IN, the son of Bertha Rose Villian Gunn and the late Paul Gunn. David owned and operated G & D Trucking for several years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing and four wheeling. He also enjoyed fixing things and working on cars. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and grandfather. David was of the Christian faith.

Surviving Mr. Gunn are his loving wife, Carolyn Sue Staples of Copperhill, mother, Bertha Rose Gunn, two daughters and one son-in-law, Carrie and Nathaniel Shrum, Dawn Ficklin, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Paul and Samantha Gunn all of Indianapolis, IN., step son, William Carmack of Copperhill, one brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Diane Gunn of Indiana, three grandchildren, Corey, Carson and Nikita Ficklin, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a late date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to help defray medical and funeral expenses,

ANNE A. DAVIS

Mrs. Anne A. Davis age of Ridge Trail Hayesville passed away on Friday October 24, 2008 in the Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee following an extended illness. Mrs. Davis was born on Sept. 12, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Anthony Klepper and the late Anna Siupemite Klepper .She and her husband had been part time residents of Hayesville for the past sixteen years and have been living there full time for the past two years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Artie and Eddie Klepper and one sister, Jean Hines. Mrs. Davis was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving Mrs. Davis are her loving husband of sixty three years, Gerald Davis of Hayesville, three daughters and one son-in-law, Pamela and Kenneth Davis of Hayesville, Laurie Rasmussen of Lake Worth, FL, Karen Cullum of Ft. Pierce, FL, four grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Mrs. Davis.

WILLIAM LEE MYERS

Mr.William Lee "Bill" Myers age 57 of Culberson, NC, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008 in the Valley View Health Care in Andrews. He was born in Statesville, NC. and lived most of his life in Cherokee, County. He enjoyed dancing, loved listening to music, especially, Elvis Presley. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Moose, his mother Doris Myers, and also by a sister, Barbara Stikleather.

Surviving are his daughter, Diane Myers of Lavergne, TN., a close special friend, Ruth Henderson of Culberson, NC, his siters, Candyce Manning of Myrtle Beach, SC., Cathy Williams of Mooresville, NC, his brothers, Danny Jenkins of Statesville, NC, Donny Blackwelder of Mooresville, NC, Dale Fischer of WI., several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service was held on Thursday Oct. 30, 2008 from 6-8pm from the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Andrews with Pastor Bo Phillips officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations be made to the family in care of Diane Myers, 823 Carmean Way, Lavergne, TN.37086 in memory of Mr. Myers.

VALLERIE ROGERS

Mrs. Valerie Rogers age 83 of Countyline St., Fostoria, OH, formerly of Blairsville, passed away on Saturday October 25, 2008 at Toledo Hospital. Mrs. Rogers was born on March 4, 1925 in Hayesville, NC, the daughter of the late Caney and Hattie (Miller) Dockery. She married Fred Rogers on Jan.5, 1946 in Blairsville. She was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Dockery and a sister, Stella Giles. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Fostoria Church of God.

Surviving Mrs. Rogers are her loving husband, Fred Rogers of Fostoria, OH, two sons and one daughter-in-law, James and Beverly Rogers of Holland, Charles Rogers of Blairsville, two daughters and one son-in-law, Vickie and Howard Ohler of Findlay, Barbara Baggett of Blairsville, one brother, Virgil Dockery of Warne, NC, three sisters, Roxie Owenby and Virdy Anderson both of Blairsville, Opel Wooten of Duluth, nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Oct. 28, 2008 at 1:00pm from the Harrold-Floriana funeral home in Fostoria, OH. A graveside service will follow on Thursday Oct. 30, 2008 at 2:00 pm from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville with the Rev. Donald Goodwin officiating. The family will meet with friends at the Mountain View Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-9pm.In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Mrs. Rogers.

MARCIA K. RICHARD

Mrs. Marcia K. Richard age 75 of High Lane Blairsville passed away on Monday Oct. 27, 2008 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Richard was born on Nov. 30, 1932 in Salem. MA, the daughter of the late Horace Killam and the late Mildred Jedrey Killam. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was a friend to all. She loved and enjoyed people and was always in an up beat mood. She never complained while battling all of her afflictions. She will be missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Richard was a member of the Shady Grove Methodist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Richard are her loving husband of fifty four years, Robert Richard of Blairsville, one daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Douglas Farrell of Port St. Lucie, FL, one son Gregg K. Richard of Ft. Pierce, FL, her extended children, Deborah Mock of FL, and Douglas Peralta of FL, one brother and sister-in-law, John and Judy Killam of Tuscon, AZ., four grandchildren, Tara, Stephanie, Michael and Taylor, four great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday Oct. 30, 2008 at 7:00pm from the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Bone officiating. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 11:00am from the Shady Grove Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-7pm.

CARL PETER BERGEN

Mr. Carl Peter Bergen age 86 of Buck Gibson Circle Blairsville passed away on Monday July 14, 2008 in the Angel Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Bergen was born on June 22, 1922 in Saskatchewan Canada, the son of the late Henry E. Bergen and the late Minnie Redding Bergen. Mr. Bergen was a School Bus Driver for the Union County School System for many years. He also owned and operated Bergen Tire of Blairsville for several years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.He was preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Frentz Mr. Bergen was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Blairsville.

Surviving Mr. Bergen are his loving wife Viola Bergen of Blairsville, one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Dianne Bergen of Pensacola, FL, two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Benny Dalrymple of Murphy, NC, Rhonda and Carey Stegall of Stafford, VA, , one sister, Alma Kowalko of British Columbia, seven grandchildren, Karen Decker, Jonathan and Melissa Dalrymple, Chris Bergen, Candice Busbee, Allison and Gregory Stegall, twelve great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 17, 2008 at 4:00pm from the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Bohler officiating. Special music will be presented by Mary Nell Yahl and Ken Fuller. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Jonathan Dalrymple, Chris Bergen, Greg Stegall, Mitch Decker, Josh Bergen and Chris Busbee. Serving as honorary pallbearers are tony Laster, Bobby Gibby and Glover Brown. Interment will follow in the Coosa Methodist Church Cemetery.

JANET EUBANKS

Mrs. Janet Garrett Eubanks age 58 of Kimsey Cove Rd. Hiawassee passed away on Wednesday July 16, 2008 in the Mountain View Nursing Home in Clayton, GA. following an extended illness. Mrs. Eubanks was born on Sept. 30, 1949 in Towns County, the daughter of the late Carlton T. Garrett and the late Eula Mae Ledford Garrett. Janet was always a joyful person and was full of laughter. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jerry, Jack, Joel and Carlton Garrett Jr. Mrs. Eubanks was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mrs. Eubanks are loving husband, Ben Eubanks of Clayton, two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennie and Mike Whitehead of Covington, GA, Julie and Frankie McClemons of Cleveland, GA, three brothers and one sister-in-law, J. T. and Leta Garrett, Gerald Garrett and J. D. Garrett all of Hiawassee, one sister and brother-in-law, June and Steve Brookshire of Corneila, GA, six grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held in Clayton, GA, at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Regency Hospice of Hiawassee in Memory of Mrs. Eubanks.
