Charlie H. Behrens, age 79, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. There will be no visitation, but following the memorial service, family and friends are invited to gather together at the Lakeshore Café in Storm Lake to share memories and celebrate Mr. Behrens’ life.

Dorothy Menke, age 86, formerly of Fonda, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Greenfield.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 28, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda with Father Thomas Hart as celebrant at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemeteryat Fonda under the direction of Mahaney Funeral Home.
Mae Ewalt
Mae Ewalt, 97, of Coralville died suddenly Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Coralville United Methodist Church with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Coralville.
Memorials may be made to Coralville United Methodist Church or the Coralville Recreation Department for the M. A. Ewalt Park.
Emma Grace Johnson
Emma Grace Johnson, six months, of Topeka, Kan., died on Sunday, February 13, 2005, at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
She was born Aug. 5, 2004, in Topeka, Kan., the daughter of Scott and Julie Shirk Johnson.

Services for Mildred M. Nielsen, age 95, of Newell, Iowa will be held Sunday, April 3, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Nain Lutheran Church in Newell. There will be no visitation. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Nielsen died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at the Newell Good Samaritan Home.

Kenneth T. Ohlson, 78, of rural Cherokee, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at 8:40 p.m. in Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 1 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee. Pastor Larry Nilson officiated. Burial was in the Good Hope Cemetery, rural Cherokee.

Graveside rites and inurnment will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2005 in Storm Lake Cemetery.

Elgie Anthony Goedert, age 83, of Fonda, died Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at his daughter’s home in Fonda.
Funeral services were held on Friday, August 12, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Varina, with Father Thomas Hart and Father Don Reis as concelebrants at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial with military rites by W.D. Steiner Legion Post of Varina was in St. Columbkille Cemeteryat Varina under the direction of Mahaney Funeral Home in Fonda.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alta, with Pastor Ted Eiders presiding.
Father Alan Weseman
Reverend Alan R. Weseman, age 60, pastor of St. Anselm Catholic Church in Madisonville, Louisiana, died of complications of cancer on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at his home. Father Weseman was the brother of Nancy Weseman Fratzke of Storm Lake.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church in Madisonville with a Memorial Mass at 7 p.m. followed by an all-night Vigil. On Monday, August 15, the Feast of the Assumption, a funeral mass will be held at noon with Archbishop Alfred Hughes as the main celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Abbey Cemeteryin rural Covington, Louisiana.

Funeral services for Lyle Whiting, 86, of Aurelia, were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2006, at First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Harold Werley officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Redig Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Lyle Robert Whiting was born on June 4, 1919 in Aurelia, the son of Robert and Myrtle (Johnson) Whiting. Lyle graduated from Aurelia High School in 1936. He worked as a farm hand, and then served in the Army Air Corp. On December 28, 1949, Lyle was united in marriage to Ruby Arlene White at the Methodist Church in Sioux City.

John Severson
Funeral services for John F. Severson, 53, of Aurelia, were Friday, February 3, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia with Pastor Larry Lemke officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Redig Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
John Frederick Severson was born September 5, 1952 in Storm Lake, the son of Oscar Norman and Joyce (Strader) Severson. He attended school in Storm Lake. He received his degree in social work from Buena Vista College. On February 24, 1979, John married Linda Tscherter at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia. John worked as a drug counselor and resident treatment worker for M.H.I. in Cherokee for 10 years, then as a social worker for Lutheran Social Services. John loved music, playing guitar, keyboard and saxophone, and being with his family.
